  1. Scotland vs England on the 10th JUNE………a loss of 5 or 6 players…….Celtic carry the aces…….fed of with this pish week in week out.

    In agreement on Erik comments

Surprised no one else has picked up on my own

I think this past few weeks, James Forrest has gone back to him form of last season – poor

I would be playing Patrick Roberts next week, scores and creates more.

I do not rate Calum McGregor and again past 3 or 4 games he has been given a run, and in my view like James Forrest has been poor

I would be playing Liam Henderson before Calum (or Ryan Christie had he still be with us)

Dembele and Rogic, both struggled today, need games for match fitness ?

The team needs to drastically lift its game for next 2 games,

Today showed what we will be up against

    Hail Hail

Developing a wee record this latest Hun import into the MIB ranks

The more things change the more they remain the same

    Again back to the fitba…..

Who is your player of the year ?

    Mines is

Scott Sinclair, Moussa, Broony, Craig & KT

Am allowed 5 or do I need to put Johnny Hayes in or Kenny Miller

  5. I watched our game in a pub in the Algarve with Liverpool and Chelsea fans who had arrived early for their games.

I wish you could all have witnessed the gasp of astonishment that went out when the MIB gave the penalty….and that was before the replay. It was so cringeworthy I actually looked away in embarrassment.

Not only was there no contact there was not even any attempt to put in a challenge.

I hope to God that Celtic PLC get off their knees over the officiating of our games. It will be a miracle if we win the Treble and finish the season unbeaten.

The only consolation for me was that I was able to explain succinctly to all that Broony is in no imminent danger of missing an “old firm” game. The Liverpool fans were already suitability appraised of this fact!

Away off to pack now, sigh!

  6. GFTB

Can’t make up my mind between Scotty and Scott.

    Either would be fine.

  7. Time for a wee nightcap with my good lady.

Good night and God bless all those in need.

Eric has been very poor of late

McGregor .. I see as much in him as you do

Forrest …regressed.. Not quite to last season levels imo

Sinclair and Dembele…seem out of sorts

Imo we are not playing particularly well .. However it’s still taking MIB intervention for others to get near us

A repeat of last years SC capitulation would be as unexpected as unthinkable

  9. TIMREAPER @7-29

    No it wasn’t.

The rules of the game are supposed to be administered fairly and without bias.

O’Brien was booked for a challenge that was far worse than Browns.

O’Brien had both feet of the ground with studs facing opponent.KT was lucky not to suffer a serious injury.

Browns challenge was a slide from the side that took out opponent but his feet were on ground and studs not shown.

By the criteria/leniency ref showed to County player Browns sending off was unfair.

  10. i'vehadtochangemyname on

sweet divinity, that was some decision today – at least with the cup ‘handball’ there was a definite attempt to cheat and there was movement and there was a dynamic nature to it – today : fuc8 it, i’ll fall in the box – you never know i might get something and lo and behold, a hun’s a hun!

but – it’s a warning – you don’t beat lions’ record on a whim – we’ve a mountain to climb to win the treble

  11. Gerryfaethebrig

This past 3 or 4 seasons, there has been 3 Scottish Players, who have shone when playing against us, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie and John McGinn.

All on more than 1 occasion

Christie getting rave reviews for his game on Sat with Aberdeen

Only my view, but a talented bhoy

  12. A silly challenge from Broonie but I’ve seen worse go unpunished.

To be honest when I played it was part of the game, especially if you were robbed of a result as we were.

Probably harder to take if you play in a team that might be relegated because of a shocking referee/ linesman decision with the penalty.

  13. COWIEBHOY

Why do you think BR doesn’t play Liam Henderson??

Why is Ryan Christie on loan?? To get game time I guess that he’s not going to get at Celtic.

What is it that BR is no getting???

Liam will be lucky to make the squad for next weeks game. He’s behind Koussai now. Bitton will be in the frame for next week as well.

I think he’ll be back at His next year..

Only jesting, might be showing my age but I remember when his dad was signed, I have read your posts re. Ryan and I would love any player to come in and better the team, I think he is a bit behind a few others…… my post was just a wee nod to the fact you have been championing Ryan from the start

  15. PF Ayr

Disagreeon Sinclair, – as pointed out earlier by another on CQN

He does appear less effective with McGregor beside him, than he does with Kieran directly behind him ?

    Agree on MIBs

Hence why I want the players performing to form

I fear the MIBs throwing a huge spanner in our ambitions

  16. COWIEBHOY/PF AYR

I think the tinkering and tactical changes have unsettled us recently.

It’s understandable by the coach as we were stick ons for league since December.

JF looks like he is favoured due to the fact he is more risk averse than Paddy and that suits the modern possession game.

Erik is rash for a defender.

McGregor is not effective in a wide position.

The service to Dembele has been poor.

Sinclair seems to be unsure where to play when McGregor is wide left.

This has caused less potency from left area which was our most dangerous flank.

Tierney has been quieter due to this.

  17. !!Bada Bing!! on

Brendan will not take this BS lying down, time for the Club to ask why a penalty was given, a simple question.

  18. I just posted but it seems to have got lost in cyberspace; so, I’ll do it again.

Been quite a hectic day, which included me taking my Dad past Celtic Park so that he could see it. “Marvellous” says he. Next breath “It’s amazing what we have achieved in spite of everybody else in Scotland”. A bit exaggerated but you can see where he ‘s coming from. He’s 94 and seen so many “honest mistakes” but today’s penalty decision simply sickened him. “When will it ever end?” says he.

He’s not alone in his anger. I have talked with a fair few supporters, including a great friend in Mississauga, and all they wanted to do was talk about the penalty. It was obviously a poor poor decision but what he really got my goat since I saw the footage was the mib’s (although I gather he isn’t an “m”)red carding our captain, while only giving a yellow card to the thug who hacked Kieran Tierney at Celtic Park. He must be under the same pressure as Willie Collum. Sad really. Feel sorry for them (I do really) if they have to cheat Celtic to further their careers in Scottish Football.

  19. Starry Plough

    I agree with those comments

Ryan is now 22, should be first team player, doesn’t look like it will be at Celtic, unless the loan is to get him game time and come back better prepared – remember when he joined Celt, he was out for 6 months with a serious ankle injury, actually coming back ahead of schedule from this – realistically he had June – Dec to show Brendan what he could do, done ok a few times and not so well in others

Liam is 21 next week, and should be pushing hard for a game, looks like this may be elsewhere – possible Hibs ?

I personally, and accept Brendan’s judgement – think both are better than McGregor and Bitton ?

I can see Bitton also moving on this summer ?

    Phil

    You disappoint me

Don’t hide behind the sins of others to justify your non attendance or belief

  21. Thought MacGregor and Forrest wide were both poor. MacGregor only began to show when he switched for Rogic.

James Forrest is constantly compared with Paddy Roberts but its apples and pairs, and BR prefers Forrest’s better pace, at least to start the game.

A diving cheat and everybody now needs dropped according to CQN

    Twas ever thus CSC

  22. MOONBEAMSWD on 16TH APRIL 2017 6:44 PM

Hope we are not all moaning about being cheated again!

    It is what it is.

“It is what it is” Bullshit, exactly what your post is.

  23. Fan-a-Tic

100% Brendan is tinkering with the team at minute, which is losing us some rhythm

He can afford to do this

We are Champions, so pressure off

He cannot account for the MiB’s influence :-)

  24. PFayr

I thought up until the last third of the game he was doing alright. Lulled into a false sense of security.

A Huns a Hun for all that.

Not wishing to escape the goat but

Forrest has regressed but not as far as last year. Paddy all day long.

Dembelle needs game time but would put him in against the Huns because of his physicality and he’s a proven hunscelper.

Sviatchenko. Don’t know what’s happened the guy. Some on here suggesting he wanted to go to Leicester last transfer window. Boyata and big Simunovitch…no brainer. Lustig at right back because of his aerial threat and he usually finds a beach ball to put on his head when we score against Norman Bates FC.

Again ,as some have said, Sinclair on the left with Kieran and Rogic instead of Mc Gregor.

  25. THETIMREAPER on 16TH APRIL 2017 7:01 PM

Brown’s tackle was a nailed on red card, without question.

Absolute bollox.I am sure you will say”Well thats my opinion”.Like @ssholes,everyone has one.

Cant believe the lickspittles on a Celtic site.Remember Lenny,

“He brings it on himself”Some agreed with that.FFS.

  26. COWIEBHOY

I think Brendan has Ryan well in hand, and knowing how important this season was for him and the club he couldn’t afford to have him do his rehab if you like in the first team. He’ll come back to us stronger and then the rest is up to him, smashing player on his day.

With Liam and this is just my opinion can be positionally weak and maybe that’s what BR sees. He’s got a good dig and an eye for a pass but until he’s impressing BR in training I can see hime really struggle to make a mark especially if we bring more players in.

Liam has a long way to go to be better than Btton sorry to disagree with ye mate:)))

The whole team has fallen apart since we dropped Bitton!

  27. Hoop hoop Hooray on

Sky report talking of controversial late penalty where pkayer goes down with little contact.

Got my hopes up. I have a little chance of having beyonce in my bed tonight.

  28. Possibly the worst refereeing decision in living memory …. You’d be hard pushed to find a decision like that in Saturday afternoon amateur football. Although , vague memories of being pulled up for offside after slaloming through Dalziel HS midfield and defence with a mazy to be informed by ref ‘offside ‘. ….. still was the 70s and we were humping them

Has there been a worst decision in the last 10 years

Assuming the SFA work on the principle that they are not promoting raging bigots to these ref appointments , gross incompetence doesn’t cover it either … This clown needs removed from next week’s 5th official job and sent back to junior football.
