Angel Gabriel, Nally, cheers, Nrendan also doubles up on flanks, think how often Gamboa has been coming on in games. Sure for experience and game time, but also to give Paddy the sort of backing he needs, pace running past him, dragging defenders about, leaving spaces for Paddy, James doesn’t need that, his game is about speed, Paddy about turning defenders in knots.
Like I say, Brendan is a shrewd operator.
I also like his experimentation of the last few weeks, he is finding out how we can adapt for CL qualifiers. Clever stuff.
66% possesion to Celtic, 14 fouls against us to Countys’ 12.
My hypothesis to this is that the refs are cheats and ALL opposition teams are cheats.
Never mind the farcical ‘penalty’ today, every challenge by a Celtic player is a foul. Opposition teams are aware of this and go down at first contact. Only exception to this of late are Thistle.
Would love to see the stats as most of the ‘fouls’ we commit are in opposition half or just into ours.
This allows the long ball into our box where we can be vulnerable.
MD’s effectiveness can be countered by defender falling over at point of contact and a push on same player when he challenges can be ignored by ref.
In short, all are complcit in cheating when playing Celtic. It’s just a matter of degrees! :-)

Tackle on Tierney was worse than Broonies.
Your players over-reaction to Broons tackle should have more repercussions…but it won’t.
I stick by my earlier point. Smaller teams get away with robust tackles on Celtic players and when we try and respond in a similar fashion we get hammered, hence 14 fouls to 12 with 66% possesion. The difference being that oppo players just fall down. Ref. Foul.

it’s a legitimate question but it does not have a whole lot to do with what i wrote. Brendan, in his own way, called out the cheating today, just as Ronny did with the ICT hand ball, but it gets explained away with either-“these things even out over the season”- or “it was just an honest mistake- quit whining!”
I am not sure that if it was the non-football men on the board that called out the cheating that it would be any more beneficial. I cannot think of any instances where Boardroom spokesmen have affected the attitudes and decisions of refs but I am happy to be proved wrong.
I have always advocated that you have to call out the bad decisions when you have won because any complaint after dropped points is dismissed by every neutral fan, whether genuinely or nominally neutral, as just sour grapes talking.
There are many things I have wanted the board to speak out on- but individual ref’s decisions is a low priority for me when it comes to the Board.
I am glad Brendan called it out and, funnily, I think that, with such a blatant decision the week before, it reduces the likelihood of a bad decision at Hampden- hope I’m right in that.
Mind you, Willie Collum, who has next week’s gig, was even worse than Robertson in his decision to award Well a goal when the ball had barely reached the line and he was completely unsighted. I do not have a high regard for Willie’s competence though I don’t think he would deliberately cheat us.
Right, Alasdair can’t pinpoint when a Celtic player dived to cause him to be aggrieved which might suggest that – as GFTB might say- he is talking shoite.
