Stepping out of my comfort zone here….and offering a football opinion.
Rather than loaning out Grif, should we not bump Stokesie?
I thought that was fairly comfortable. They were the more settled team but didn’t think they worried us too much – was more our slackness than their genius.
Wako is a player (needs to learn he’ll not get away with rolling around in Scotland though).

Didn’t get to see the game and from previous, know your judgement is sound. So in summary wiz this another complete pish performance and a fluke ?

Craig Gordon. Given he has been ‘retired’ for years he could probably play to a decent age. He could be here for another 5 years. A great foundation to build the team on..

How anyone could judge Scepovic at the moment is beyond me.

How anyone can constantly criticise Commons, the league’s best player last season, who scored 34 goals and had 11 assists last season is beyond me.
You continue to manage it though.
Nerve wracking was that. Imo, Bitton and Kayal should have been on instead of Stokes and Tonev. Away in Europe, imo, Bitton should be the first name on the team sheet. Too many of our players give the ball away far far too easily.
Salzburg a top ranked team?
Everybody happy with a lucky away draw?

Even Zagreb will gub us.

The bhoys in Austria will be enjoying that more than most of the CQN in-match responders.
I feared for our team tonight. That was a big step up on our Warsaw and Maribor performances and Salzburg are better than both of them.
We have a long way to go but that was not the car crash performance that we saw in Europe earlier. For all the weaknesses of Ambrose and Izzaguire, they contributed to successful defensive and attacking plays in between their errors. Efe almost rescued Denayer’s slip at their first goal.

It`s an exercise in how not to.
I’m absolutely delighted with the result but if I’m honest it’s like watching the weans in the playground just now.
Looking at the Zagreb goals it looks like the Astra defense are even more sieve like than ours… by quite some distance.
Good evening all.
A great result, though not great performance, but we will take care of this team at CP, imo. I am really looking forward to the rest of the season. Tickets for my own seat are being dispatched for the EL games. 31003, sorry to disappoint you. KTF.

The result was great.
The performance was dreadful. I’m a half full sort of guy but we could hardly string two passes together.
I hope we ll get better but really what match where some of you watching ?
If it wasn’t for Gordon we’d have lost by a hatful…

We don’t see them at work during the week. I think how folk do in training is important. I heard Craig Gordon praying wako for his goals in training over the past couple of days. Sounds like as good a way of picking a team than any other. Certainly better than picking favourites.
Apart from Gordon, I thought Wakaso had a good game, with terrific work rate. Ride our luck a bit, but great point. I hope the manager doesn’t persist with playing too many winger types at same time. Need to tighten up at fullbacks. Young McGregor pretty anonymous tonight. Two home games to look forward to now, time to improve the team.
robobhoy, The only thing pathetic is you. For your sake I hope you are a Hun, if you genuinely support Celtic you are a thundering disgrace. Take a trip involving sex.
Great shame that Guidetti isn’t eligible for EL group. His mobility and energy is what is required especially away from home in Europe.
Still if we can get the shape right in midfield and get or RBs fit then we can only improve. McGregor was used centre midfield 2nd half but he is a touch player and not mature enough to make an impression in the boiler room I fear.
Still the more we play together, the more the players get to know each other and get used to the managers wishes on style and formation of play.
That’s the advantage of the EL – we got away with it tonight. I’m afraid to be honest if that were a CL tie, we could have been well beaten with that disjointed performance.
We don’t play Salzburg again at home until 27th November, by which time we should be performing more smoothly and will know what to expect

Anyway, would’ve taken a draw before the game. 2 great goals, 2 lucky ones, between us.
As Tom said, Craig did what he is paid to do, fantastically.
We can play better but well done Celtic.
Think we have some right decent players in our squad,but I still believe the continuous choice of Johansen in the team is holding us back from progressing.

Some guys on here no eff all about football. Only interest in making smart ass comments trying to look clever. That was a tough gig out there, the Bhoys played with courage and determination. Yes Gordon kept us in it but we scored 2 and created another 2 or 3 great chances. I know Izzy was at fault for second goal but overall he played well. Gordon MOM. Virgil, Denayer, Wakaso were also very good. We are getting better and will continue to improve. Overall I’m very satisfied with performance & result.

Agree with all of that – they were a vey creative outfit going forward, good touches and imagination. New system, and new players bedding in. The draw, under the circumstances, was a good result.
Bookies had us at 7 / 1, and that is an indication of the quality they felt Saltzburg had – cause they certainly wouldn’t offer us long odds if they felt otherwise.
Oh, and Stokesy looked much better that Scepovic.

Your love affair with Commons clouds you fella.
I like Kris but at this level his pace and poor ball retention is evident. His feigned dive in the first half when confronted with a sprint was embarrassing.
In a cautious & slow moving Lennon team (no criticism) he shone but looks a luxury this season.
Just being honest.
Very happy with this start to our EL campaign.
All over Europe this season there will be lots of clubs, much stronger than us, who will be happy to play badly away from home and get a draw.
It’s easy to be negative about the team. But it’s more fun being positive
I enjoyed that.
2 teams of fairly similar quality battling it out.
A positive line up and subs.
we will see how that works out .
