Script written for Scepovic

886

With John Guidetti ineligible, Anthony Stokes is manager Ronny Deila’s first choice striker for Europa League action.  Anthony arrived at Glasgow Airport this morning but was sent home ill.  He was a certain starter, so whatever plans the manager made, a rethink is in order.

Stefan Scepovic made his goal-scoring breakthrough against Astra last month, and followed up with a goal next time out against Kilmarnock, but he was benched for Partick and Inverness Thistle.  Despite being third on the roster he’s likely to be the solitary striker role tomorrow evening.

This is a big game in Stefan’s Celtic career.  A European ground with an 8500 capacity presents a different pressure, and expectation, than Celtic Park.  Can he rise to the challenge?  Wakaso stepped forward in Salzburg and Callum McGregor did the same in Reykjavik, Warsaw and Maribor.  Both benefited enormously as a result.  I could make a case that Stefan needs this game; the script’s written……

Many thanks to everyone who bought the DVDs from CQNBookstore since yesterday, that’s’ the deal finished.  Will try to pull another together at some point.

“…and we refuse to indulge those who have performed the moral and mental gymnastics required to come to the conclusion that this new Rangers can possibly be the same club as the one which ceased to exist in 2012. RFC are no longer “Aye Ready” because they no longer exist. We do, however, welcome their recently formed cousins TRFC to Scottish Football in the hope that they can provide stiff but honest competition in manner which proved beyond their ancestors. You might say that we welcome the chase.”

Exactly. Better to have them direct their hate a thousands of us across Timdom instead of one man and his blog.

I mentioned before that Mrs TET is willing to write something funny about their demise and death for the programme you are talking about producing prior to the LC final, if you want that is.

A great idea. I think best to keep it free from any emotion, or it could appear “Celtic fans trying to wind up Rangers/Sevco fans” rather than a factual account of events.

My point would be re the infamous “transfer of licence”. Why transfer a licence from one club to the SAME Club?

And of course Sevco playing in the early rounds of the cups in 2012-13. If it was Rangers they would have been seeded due to their second-placed finish in the SPL in 2011-12.

  19. TET

Not priority was clarified to mean there were other priorities and example given of them.

That it was not top priority did not mean it had stalled or lost importance which is how you appear to have read it.

What BRTH has provided is in keeping with the meaning of the original point and the clarification.

No one can argue that in the running of Celtic with all that entails is that Res12 was ever top priority.

The success has been getting an order of priority within many many others, given the particular type of expertise required to make progress.

    Frustrating Things.

In days of yore, when I used to play football on a reasonably regular basis, I used to think it was frustrating when my knees locked after the game and I would occasionally be driven home with my legs sticking out of the window ( I kid you not! )

Then it became frustrating when I couldn’t climb the stairs of my house the following day other than on my hands and knees.

These extremes were later cured for a period when a one time poster on here advised me just to ignore all pain and inconvenience and simply run the adverse effects off.

Strangely, this worked for quite a long period until it got to the stage where I just couldn’t do it any more and so I was forced to go and consult an Orthopaedic Surgeon who had my knees x-rayed.

The right knee looked bad right enough, but the left knee was astonishing to look at – basically you could see bone wearing away and now my left knee cap is considerably thinner than the right one which is far from perfect.

So what is frustrating these days?

Well, meeting with WC who is off to the CQN 5 a sides is possibly one of the most frustrating things because in my heart I really just want to grab a bag and some gear and turn up, but I know that I physically just can’t do that.

I should add that when I was at University I was part of a 5’s team that in two consecutive years won our faculty championship and the overall University league, where I played at least three times a week and was as fit as a butcher’s dug. Basically we won everything we entered — and still played bounce games over and above that.

When the old orthopaedic team told me that the football days were over I asked a supplementary question:

” Can I still go skiing?”

I was then pointed in the direction of the psychiatric ward.

    That was pretty frustrating too.
