Serious Treble Threat, material loss

624

Pretty gutted for Inverness keeper Dean Brill, who will miss the Hampden Scottish Cup semi final with a dislocated knee.  We saw enough from the Highlanders on Saturday to know they pose Serious Treble Risk, but you want to beat teams at full strength.

Anyone who tells you Celtic suffered a material loss due to Rangers liquidation is blowing out his bum.  We lost some revenue but we’ve not been in such good shape, financially and on the field, in years.

I I could argue it was the best thing to happen to Celtic in the last 48 years but we’ll have the decades to come to ponder the full impact.

The Memorial Stone for CQNers no longer with us has now been fully funded with circa £500 left over for Mary’s Meals. A humbling effort, well done to all involved, especially TBJ.

Said something like that to petec last month.

These people just spout lie after lie to us all in the hope to get what they want and then go and do whatever they want regardless of the promises they made.

I really do wish that not one single person cast a vote until all the lying is brought to an end.

    Morning Lhads.

This election splurge and the fine assortment of loathsome politicians, is making me ill.

I would seriously guillotine the lot of them given the chance:)

I often wonder what would be the outcome, if everybody refused to vote?

I know how you feel. In Spain and France you have the option of a “white vote” on your ballot paper, meaning you voted for “none of the above”. Not sure it would change anything, but it might make us feel better if we had that option in the UK!

Yeah , it gets worse……supposedly we live in a democracy.

A democracy that has a House of Lords, and a Queen….ha, you couldn’t make it up.

Seriously, you can only come to the conclusion, that things wont change, because people cant be arsed to do anything about it.

Guy Fawkes had the right idea:)

As well as making a good point, Doc highlights the reality that things are seldom black or white. Something worth remembering before making strong criticism and also before claiming that every opinion is equally valid.

    OK CQN, do your stuff:

Got a wee jolly booked in Spain and Morocco mid July which has a 3 day itinerary as yet unfilled:

Land in Seville on the Wednesday pm, leaving from Madrid on the Saturday am. What to do?

Clearly Wednesday night will be Seville, and Friday evening Madrid, what about the two days in between?

    Suggestions?

Ronda is an interesting place but not easy to get to if you do not have a car. If you do ( have a car) under two hours for the sometimes intimidating drive .

Spend the days in Seville. It is a beautiful city with magnificent history, obviously there is ‘our’ history, but there are so many fabulous things to see and do. The simple walk across any of the bridges across the canal from the old centre, towards the R. Guadalquivir takes you into a real, lived-in part of the city. And of course if you haven’t already done so do visit the Alcazar across from the Cathedral – stunning Moorish architecture and gardens which is worth a few hours itself. If it gets REALLY hot my favourite shaded park is the Parque de Maria Luisa south of the University (which is also open the public).

Great shout. I stayed near the big mosque last time I was there. Was kept awake by a church bell (I think) that seemed to ring every 15 minutes. Hot as hell (about 47 when I was there). Great place.
