Serious Treble Threat, material loss

624

Pretty gutted for Inverness keeper Dean Brill, who will miss the Hampden Scottish Cup semi final with a dislocated knee.  We saw enough from the Highlanders on Saturday to know they pose Serious Treble Risk, but you want to beat teams at full strength.

Anyone who tells you Celtic suffered a material loss due to Rangers liquidation is blowing out his bum.  We lost some revenue but we’ve not been in such good shape, financially and on the field, in years.

I I could argue it was the best thing to happen to Celtic in the last 48 years but we’ll have the decades to come to ponder the full impact.

The Memorial Stone for CQNers no longer with us has now been fully funded with circa £500 left over for Mary’s Meals. A humbling effort, well done to all involved, especially TBJ.

I recently changed job and work for a company I now consider the masters of True Scotch whisky

For the last week I have been working in various departments and been asked to taste and nose different malts and blends . Today I spent 6 hrs at one of their premium distilleries near Perth and again was tasting and nosing premium products straight from the cask .

I have never liked whisky and each time they handed me one to sip . I raised it to my lips but didn’t drink any

I will however ” attempt” to raise and drink a dram in honour of my CQN friends who now sit in the big north stand ( copyright DD)

Great post earlier and one which goes to, like that old tv show, the heart of the matter. I was a bit surprised to read that the old club brands etc went for a quid, but then again, Murray sold the whole shebang for the same amount. It takes us back also to the position adopted by Paul McConville two years ago, re our favourite legal phrase, gratuitous alienation. I cannot be the only one on here who on here who believes the sale of the brands, moreso perhaps than the stadium, offered evidence, proof even, that the Administrators acted in breach of the relevant Company Law, in that it allowed a new company to claim that the new club is the same as the old club which ran up the debts which led to its, albeit impending, liquidation. The SFA of course believes that these are simply legal niceties, to be ignored.

On the subject of our youth academy I would loan out the lot of them when they got to 18, playing u-20s is of no use in my eyes, loan them all out to Falkirk, Hibs, Morton or even Albion Rovers, wee GMS learned his trade at Airdrie, just my opinion but if GMS & Stuart Armstrong were at Lennoxtown as teenagers they would be nowhere near the 1st team, get them out and serve their apprenticeships in the lower leagues, John Park if you are lurking that will make prospects players !

By all means make your point and express your anger, but please don’t resort to name-calling of our manager (or anyone else) just because you’re not content with Celtic.

Alasdair. its been some turnaround for County since the turn of the year.

Liam Boyce was great for Cliftonville. I’m sure he spent a short time at Werder Breman before going back to Cliftonville.
