SFA giving lectures on accountability

1464

Fifa is unfit for purpose, investigations abound but we’ve not seen convictions yet.  The president has not been arrested, but, well, he has president over this enormous shambles, yet he refuses to resign.  His resignation is needed to relieve the reputation of Fifa, the reputation of football itself.  We all know this, but SFA chef exec, Stewart Regan said as much.

The SFA is Blatter’s role model.  Regan conceded SFA president Campbell Ogilvie was horribly conflicted, as the Association dealt with the consequences of the biggest directorial negation of duty in Scottish football history – by Ogilvie, who was director and company secretary of the dysfunctional board.

Ogilvie never resigned.  Ogilvie has still not resigned.  Regan said nothing.  Ogilvie’s supporters in the game rallied round, just as Blatter’s have today.

This is how human nature works.  Ogilvie has been in enough committee meetings, pressed enough flesh, to ensure that despite the slaying he took at the hands of Lord Nimmo Smith’s SPL inquiry, he could brass it out.  Accountability at the SFA does not exist.  I get it.  But, the SFA cannot have the audacity to make moralistic statements about the corporate accountability of others.

It is a depressing feature of Scottish life that we don’t have a culture of accountability, that the media are not sufficiently plural that such hypocrisy is exposed for what it is, that there isn’t a single elected representative prepared to disengage with the Scottish establishment on this today.

The new media are not there yet.  We don’t have the authority of a broadcaster or politician to demand, and get, accountability.  That’ll change in time.

They stick out like a sore thumb round here.

As from next season, they will be banned from wearing those rags in my street.

I might even put a sign up……No Scabby Hun Strips Permitted in this Area.

And its totally true that…GLASGOW IS GREEN AND WHITE.

I don’t think you really wanna consider that otherwise you will have camp twaddle parked outside your front with their bottles of bucky All to the tune the tune of no surrender. Fk me, imagine the lice your children would be exposed to? I don’t think there would be enough zyklon b in Germany to delouse one of the weein ‘s heads after comin into contact with that lot travelling failedmen. I need a shower from just typing about them dirty beggars.

Good post….we get the dregs, while they sip champers.

Costs a fortune to go to the game now.

Im probably one of the worst moaners on here…..never done complaining about our board, and hun corruption.

But…the problem is…..I cannot stop myself going to see Celtic.

Even though the blessed Peter and his minions….do my head right in.

I remember as a nipper talking to my Dad about the football. There was a conversation that has stuck with me over the years, along the following lines:

    “Imagine if Rangers were relegated!”

“It would never be allowed to happen son.”

    “How’s that Dad?”

“Steps would be taken. Deals would be done. If it came to the crunch, they’d get the result they needed. No question.”

I guess you might call that Paranoia: Lesson 1 – Expert by Experience

We’ll know on Sunday evening if the times have a changed.

What struck me last night though was that, while there was little between the two sides, the Motherwell team played like their livelihoods depended on it. They played for their children. The other side didn’t.

If steps are to be taken, deals done, it won’t be with the participation of the Motherwell team.

The Gift That Keeps Giving saga:

It’s been going for what 2, 3 years now, so long that it looks like we are all loosing sight of the “why” it’s happening.

It’s money of course ! The dim blue pound to be exact.

Money and their carcass being stripped from the inside out again and again.

I’ve actually read and listened to the gullible boasting they have their two Rangers share certificates ………

Remember in the build up to de-listing the Huns fan groups were extolling their members to pay in to own a bigger slice………of what ? How much are their new shares worth ? Who was the pilot for that course ?

They are being exploited repeatedly .

It ain’t difficult just appeal to their hubris, egos and intolerance and they are like plasticine.

King couldn’t ask for them to buy again could he ? I mean, a treble of worthless certificates; would they be so gullible ?

    Most certainly.

Entitlement and Bigotry are banned…..and so is Sevconian BS.

They can try…..but their feeble attempts, will be treated with the contempt it deserves.

    And chased off the premises.

  6. Must confess to being slightly disappointed that Motherwell missed a sitter to make it 4-0 as that would be game over.

But over the moon the they have a 3-1 lead to take into the game on Sunday.

All being well sevco will stay down and given their money issues etc. maybe they will need to go into administration….that would be nice!

  7. TBB tend to agree with your assessment although the first goal on Sunday could be crucial/important. With a bit better finishing Motherwell could have finished the tie last night. Hail Hail Hebcelt

  8. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

The Motherwell manager got the message when they tried to have Mc.Donald banned, even before Hibs were beaten.

He left nine players out of the team prior to last night’s game.

Apart from the risk of injury, he probably felt that there would have been a red card or two in the pipeline.

  9. KevJ –

But Neganon thinks there are only 2 seconds in a minute. He’ll never come on time.

As for a name for your new breakaway club, how about . . . The Rangurs?

If I was the Well manager….id repeat what they done last night.

Wallace is their only outlet, once Well stifled him….they took control.

Their front two…roasted the sevco defence.

Play the same at Fir Park…..and sevco, circus of horrors, spawn of satan, shall be consigned to hell, where they belong.

    Hahaa brillant.. they are hurting.

Motherwell should finish them early in return leg.

Still not happy we only beat them 2-0 at hampden..they are brutal.

Feel sorry for shane ferguson having to wear that jersey.

Motherwell exacting the coldest revenge for the mullet humiliating them against Sevco before.

Im with you there, however the second half was a walk in the park, it was keep ball and a half arsed pace, I think that sent more of a message, if we want to we’ll hump you, but we’re quite content just knocking it about!

  16. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Motherwell made a mistake last night. Both teams are better going forward.

Motherwell should attack from the off, Sevco couldn’t handle their movement and the Rangers defenders appeared statuesque at times.

Attempting to soak up pressure will allow Rangers momentum and confidence. They were allowed both in the latter stages and their wide players (McShane and Walsh ? ) looked capable of throwing in crosses to the mixer. Once the ball is in their it’s a lottery.

  17. Who’s the ref for Sunday? Will be enormous pressure on the officials to get the ‘right’ result.

    Biter bit,etc.

Always amazes me that you can tell such blatant lies, peddle such vitriolic garbage,on here and still look in the mirror.

  20. Rangers won’t go into administration. They have no substantial debts. They have been operating at a monthly loss in the hope that they win promotion. If they fail, they can do one of 2 things.

    1) Wind up the club and walk away. Not gonna happen.

    2) Cut their cloth accordingly. Which means selling everyone and everything and starting again with free transfers and youth players.

There is a 3rd option which is, carry on as they are. That can’t happen either.

If they do lose out to Motherwell, I suspect they might just struggle to reach a play-off place next season.

    Let’s enjoy the ride.

  21. Ignore my last post.

Not my very last post, just the one before this one.

    I’ll be back.

  22. St Mirren and Hibs stand in the way next season hopefully. Queen of the South and Falkirk too but I expect Newco to be challenging for a play off place next year….

  23. I hope someone has checked up on BBC ‘s Richard Wilson- he looked decidedly suicidal last night on TV..

  24. I dont share the optimism of many that Sevco have had it, two goals isn’t hard to overcome, I feel Motherwell are good for a goal, but it depends on whether they implode if Sevco score first.

Their form of late would put them mid table in the spl, they’ve picked up a couple of draws and 3 wins and scored 12 whilst conceeding 3!

Sevco will have to go for it and not be cautious, which will leave them open on the break a bit like Motherwell’s third last night.

  25. South Of Tunis on

Rafa Benitez has left Napoli .Much noise that he is going to Real Madrid for a wage which is a million euros a year less than what Ancelotti was getting. Much noise, too, that the next Manager of Napoli will be Sinisa Mihajlovic.

With Sevco’s finances as bad as they are will this weekend see what will be remembered as GIROcopter Sunday?

Good luck to MT and his Bhoy today. I was in his shoes last year and its a lottery that while stacked in favour of the polis doesnt always work out the ways their bull is aiming for

  27. Was playing 5s so missed game last night.

Did Zaliukas come off injured or tactical ?

Heard Mcgregor out for Sunday so dream team

As i said in last post of last thread yesterday the two wide

boys and Skippy and Erwin would give any team problems

Anyone would give Moshni and Elbows problems.
