JOZO SIMUNOVIC is the latest recruit to the Craig Gordon Fan Club at Celtic.
Mikael Lustig and Leigh Griffiths have already applauded this season’s contribution from the popular 34-year-old keeper.
And Croatian Under-21 international Simunovic joined in when he said: “Craig has been so reliable for us.
“I was really pleased when he said that he was staying at the club because he is such a strong individual.
“It does give you confidence when you know you have that behind you – a really experienced and clever goalkeeper.
“It is good news for Celtic and it is good news for the defenders.”
Chelsea attempted to prise the Scotland international No.1 from the champions with two bids believed to be around the £3million mark during the January transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers wasn’t interested, though, and Gordon was rewarded with an extension that will keep him at Parkhead until 2020, at least.
Swedish defender Lustig said: “He is a tremendous keeper, which is why Chelsea wanted him.
“Craig has proved his worth time and time again here, at Champions League level, too.”
Last season’s 40-goal man Griffiths added: “We were all delighted when he signed here again.
“He is a cracking keeper and he has showed that time and time again.”
