I try to avoid those who really should be avoided but I caught the report of Peter Lawwell’s Sky TV interview on their website yesterday. The “No summer sales” headline was misleading in itself as our chief exec actually said “there is no real necessity to sell players now”.
We are a solvent and well-run football club, there is no real, or imagined, necessity to sell, but there is an enormous leap between this status and “no summer sales”. All clubs, not just Celtic, sell when an offer exceeds their valuation for a player and they believe the money could be more productively redeployed elsewhere. There is no necessity for Manchester City to sell players, not until the oil runs out in the Middle East, anyway, but they may still sell.
Best part of the article was from Charlie Nicholas, “I’m a bitter idiot. Listen, I’ll prove it…..”
I’ve translated that quote from the vernacular.
Loved newco Rangers accounts. £3.5m in the bank on 31 December, £1.5m loan since, so they have £5m to operate until the season ticket money comes in, which will just be enough, but cash burn is running at over £1m per month; close to £15m a year.
£30m-£50m is not enough.

Good morning Champions……..
….a glorious but nippy day in the Rebel County.
A light breakfast ( aye right!)…… a quick read with squinty eyes…of the ole bhlog……..
then a day in the garden beckons.
Standing Up……….
………….. for the green-fingered Celtic Supporter.

Sad reading back about Oscar.
Y.N.W.A.
VERY interesting comment on Phil’s Blog……
“how did they convince a judge that there was no need to ring fence money in the ahmed case, ie no danger of administration and then come out with these figures, surely they didn’t lie in court.”
CELTICROLLERCOASTER
Articulating the feeling of is all with that post,Oscar’s courage has been amazing and inspirational.
As has that of his family.
We can only hope and pray that there is still one more fight in our little big man.
FORZA OSCAR!
Like so many I have tried to put into words about wee Oscars fight, but the truth is I have no words.
All I have are prayers I will head to mass this morning with the heaviest of hearts and light a candle and pray for all of the Knox family.
God Bless
Maestro-a bhoy posted last week there are people queueing at 11 am opening, and is nearly full at midday mate. Not sure of dress code.
67Heaven … I am Neil Lennon
I’m afraid I am find myself not paying too much attention to Phil’s blog nowadays. Too many false dawns for me there…
Terrible news about wee Oscar,no words,CRC said it perfectly.
Very sad news that a young child is gravely ill. I’ve been a fortunate parent and can only imagine the distress his family are experiencing. Most of us would do anything to protect our kids and I can only imagine how helpless Oscar’s parents feel right now.
Forgive me but I won’t be asking Oscar to keep fighting. If only bravery could beat disease I’m sure we wouldn’t be taking in this bad news. If the disease claims this young life it won’t be because of any lack of fight or bravery I’m sure. Keep him comfortable and surrounded by love; its the best any of us can do. The affection fom this site is testament to everything good about the Celtic family. I hope it can give small solice to Oscar’s family…
Morning CQN
Just waking up to read the news of wee oscar ….
On a day when we go to celebrate the winning of a competition where a load of overpaid men run after a plastic sphere ….. My heart will be heavy and my thoughts elsewhere
Anyone have a contact at Celtic who could get a big screen message up for the warrior ?
Shocked and saddened to hear the bad news about wee Oscar he will be in my thoughts and prayers as will his family.
Thoughts with wee oscar, his family and everybody else who have been involved in the fight against this most cruel of diseases.

Well said.

When do Sevco play Dundee United?
Not as lucky as some on here in the fact that I haven’t seen much of the Tribute Act since it’s formation. The lack of laughter has been my loss.
Need to try and find somewhere in England that is interested enough to show it.
Logic tells me United should batter them.
Should be worth watching just for schadenfreude.

Must run….
Tell ye what, not many Hun supporters clubs left in England.
They’ve died of embarrassment by the look of it.
Small insignificant club anywhere outside of Scotland with a turnover comparable to a team such as Doncaster Rovers.
This my friends is the reality of their situation.
Very sad news about Oscar being so ill. Thoughts and prayers with him and his mum and dad.
Sacred heart please watch over our little friend.
In my prayers.
Big sean.
Terrible news for wee Oscar and his family.
Any chance of some help here, St Jude?
Prayers said for our Wee Hero and his family.
God bless.
Morning all. Very drab down here. Must have been very heavy rainfall overnight. Might well be a lot more shortly. Very looming overcast sky.
Right aff oot to buy some new golf clubs, followed by a swally with the Villaboys ripping the pash outta the plastic Manky fans who have never set foot in Old Trafford in their lives.
So predictable when I take my satnav into the pub and sit it on their big round table……still makes everyone laugh though.Cant imagine such friendly banter with Sevco fans.
ryecatcher
Sevco are limping on towards their two biggest games of the season, the Ramsden final and more importantly the SC semi (respectively, Sunday 6th and Saturday 12th April).
I think this, more than the recent reappearance of King, is what is keeping Admin off the agenda for the time being.
I hope that Dundee United will be strong in the semi-final.
Make no mistake about it, they will be up against more than 11 players that day.
What happens on the 12th will be a massive factor in the short term future of Sevco.
Pressed “post” button too quickly. Meant to add: hope things are much improved in Parkhead this afternoon, so that the atmosphere isn’t dampened in any way whatsoever.
WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED.
