I try to avoid those who really should be avoided but I caught the report of Peter Lawwell’s Sky TV interview on their website yesterday. The “No summer sales” headline was misleading in itself as our chief exec actually said “there is no real necessity to sell players now”.
We are a solvent and well-run football club, there is no real, or imagined, necessity to sell, but there is an enormous leap between this status and “no summer sales”. All clubs, not just Celtic, sell when an offer exceeds their valuation for a player and they believe the money could be more productively redeployed elsewhere. There is no necessity for Manchester City to sell players, not until the oil runs out in the Middle East, anyway, but they may still sell.
Best part of the article was from Charlie Nicholas, “I’m a bitter idiot. Listen, I’ll prove it…..”
I’ve translated that quote from the vernacular.
Loved newco Rangers accounts. £3.5m in the bank on 31 December, £1.5m loan since, so they have £5m to operate until the season ticket money comes in, which will just be enough, but cash burn is running at over £1m per month; close to £15m a year.
£30m-£50m is not enough.

Talking fitba, cos that’s what keeps us sane in this crazy world, watching that Australian footie on BT Sports just now, it looks to be around the level of a junior game and yet they are on TV quite frequently. I take it that they fill an early morning gap
Terrible terrible news overnight on the plight of wee Oscar Knox. May he and his family continue to find the strength to fight this horrible illness.

Morning Bhoys & Ghirls
Been trying to post for the last hour, but words have been failing me.
When I picked my moniker, it was like a CQN christening. This was something that would stick by me long and hard, through good posts and bad. It was an important decision to be made. It would be with me through my CQN days.
I joke when I meet a lurker at any of the CQN events, or meeting up for badges or comms through the predictor that “ok your a lurker..but all lurkers have CQN names, what is yours?”, and believe me, most do and most are very proud.
I picked mine because being a Celtic supporter you have many highs and many lows, and I thought it was appropriate and fun it would be to use rollercoaster in my moniker somehow .
Yet my mind can’t help cast over to the Knox family, (I have thought about little else recently) and see how their entire life to date has been just that a rollercoaster and a dreadful one at that and perhaps being on one is not as great as you first think. Whilst there has been some good days, they are again on that uphill part again that nobody enjoys.
Maybe life on the rollercoaster isn’t as exciting as anticipated, there a very few smooth bits, very few indeed, and I do not know what this family has done to deserve this, but I do know they need our love, support and prayers now more than forever.
The next part of the journey for the family and indeed Wee Oscar is unknown to us all, but I do know this. The love, warmth, and happiness that Wee Oscar and has given us over the last few years will stay with us forever.
Hail, hail Wee Oscar our Celtic Warrior, keep fighting wee mhan!

the whole Knox family.
Ghuys,
Me and some mates going into the Kerrydale Bar early today. Can anybody that has been advise me if there is a dress code?
Sounds crazy going to Celtic Park on a match day and asking such a question, just don’t want to turn up and be knocked back for wearing the Hoops!
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
Good championship morning to all on Cqn this is the day the Lord has given us let us rejoice and be glad
HAIL HAIL
Just woken up the the news about Wee Oscar.
I have watched that wee mhan in his fight from afar and he has constantly amazed me with his strength and courage .
I guess one thing the wee mhan has taught us over the years is to never give up hope, never give up the struggle.
I am certain that brave wee bhoy won’t !
God bless wee mhan
CRC – very well written.
Perspective and all that. I wake up concerned that I have a wee twinge in a calf muscle and then log on to CQN to hear the devestating news about wee Oscar. Always be thankful for what you have and take nothing for granted.
Off for a wee walk and if I can manage that OK I’ll run later…
Unfortunately , was out last night and unable to defend my quiz title, just wondered if Kayal 33 feels his victory is devalued in any way??
( tee hee , only kidding bud, well done !)

I have often described my Celtic supporting journey as being on a Roller-coaster. It is why supporting the Club brings so much enjoyment on the good days. And knowing for sure when we are not doing so good that there will be great days to enjoy.
I too hope and Pray that Wee Oscar and the Knox Family have more good days to come on what is the Knoxrollercoaster. Nobody but nobody deserves to go through what they have.
We and many others have dug deep to help them on their painful journey. We need now to dig deep into our Souls and Pray for the Knoxrollercoaster to help them through this terrible time.
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!

As you say difficult to actually know what to post but a great effort by you there. I don’t think I could have the courage to put up with what this wee boy and his family have been through and are still going through. The best I can do is pray for him and most importantly not give up hope.
My heart goes out to the family of the wee man, Oscar, and if I was ever privileged to tell the wee man anything, I’d simply tell him… Fight.
But it seems that’s all he’s being doing. My prayers for him and his family are a given.
Been sitting for15 mins trying to find some words these will do.

Celticrollercoaster,
You are a gem of a person.
The Celtic family is hurting, unfortunately.
The whole Knox family and those affected by Wee Oscars illness are in my thoughts.
My heart is heavy with sadness.
I wish you all contentment as soon as possible.

Morning, Champions
I had a quick look at the BBC’s Celtic site this morning. Curiously amongst the various headlines over the last week nothing about Celtic winning the league. Plenty of propaganda about how Celtic foresee a Sevco revival and how there’s no escape from the SPL into any other league (courtesy of Tom British). The zombies at the BBC are really hurting. And you pay your license fee for that relentless bias.
Anyone sampled the kerrydale bar pre match and do you have to enter by a certain time ?
Thanks in Advance

I’ll try that again – great post.
