All three outfits looking to take control of Rangers want to meet the SPL before formalising their bids. It would be inappropriate for any bidder to discuss the terms under which a new company could enter the SPL with the League’s executive. It is not their place to negotiate with the League, or to establish the terms under which they would be prepared to spend money on Rangers.
Let’s be clear about what cannot be achieved by meeting the League:
The SPL cannot give them any indication as to whether the resolutions will be passed
They cannot give them any indication if other resolutions will be proposed and passed
They cannot give them any indication on the probability of a new company being given access to the SPL
SPL executives have no influence on these matters. From an information discovery position, these meetings are utterly pointless, there is no need for them and no insight can be gained from them.
The SPL executive cannot consider representations from third parties who are hoping to cut a deal on buying a club. If any bidder were to discuss their own bid or the consequences of any sanction the meeting becomes wholly inappropriate.
Any meetings which do take place should be minuted, with minutes distributed to all SPL clubs, and should be open to any other SPL clubs who wish to attend.
No secret deals, no secret attempts to influence.
Pay your bills!

Would love to see the same team who started at Killie today. Also think Beattie might cause us problems, but I think our biggest threat is the mib in the middle, so no hard tackles Celtic, remember a red card off for us = a booking for them.
Heading out now to catch the bus, a beautiful day here in El Peurto de Glasgow, reminds me of the old end of season hampden games.
Hail Hail
Off to Hampden in the Sun, shortly where the Hoops * we are wearing Hoops today * have a mission to beat the mini’s
These people from Edinburgh districts, are not nice and i hope Celtic are in Rugby mode.
Expect to see some changes but think Kris Commons will feature, and the Celts will
make tracks towards the domestic double.
…Pfayr
That will surely affect the usual brutality inflicted on us, plus the mib is a well known Celtic sympathiser.
Only kidding!
It’s brother Euan.

Lots of attacking options that seemed to be lacking in the league cup final. I lke Charlie in the middle but after last week he’s got to play on the left.
* Rugby Park mode*
I’m surprised Barca have so much debt. Most of their squad has come thru their academy and not cost the transfer fees that Real Madrid have paid.
They must either pay huge wages or else have had this debt for over 10 years or so.

I’d go along with that. Isn’t the phrase about banks taking pride in lending them money more than a little shocking? And wasn’t this what happened at Rangers 10 yrs ago? We’re in the middle of a European financial crisis, massive widespread unemployment unfolding before our eyes, with countries like Spain being propped up by Germany. Meanwhile the Spanish banks are lavishing money on a football team? Crazy!

Good point about government interference – the old adage about owing the bank £1000 being your problem, owe them £1bn… applies here.
Morning
Any of you chancers happen to be going to game today?

They show a lot of games (English, French, Italian, rugby), but might just show the big game that day!
I would check beforehand and have a back-up plan (internet).

Nae luck mate.
I’ll have a wee refreshment to you later.
Looking forward to going back to see a cup semi v hmfc. Very fond memories of taking the future mrs jms to the game in 1988. With time running out she hysterically shouted for McGhee to be brought on, she took pelters for starting a chorus of “he’s fat he’s round he’s worth a million pounds Mark McGhee… MarkMcGhee”, McNeil obliged, the rest is history.
After the game we took a wrong turn and ended up having to run from irate jambos. I hope the atmosphere before the game is as convivial as it was before the kilmarnock final. And i wont mind too much if we are chased by angry Jambos after the game today !

Same for me!
Never liked Bayern in the past (was there at the St Etienne final…) but would love to see them winning the CL this year for the reasons you’ve laid out.
Would definitely send out a positive message.
No great tactical talk needed today. See what we did last week? Do it again. The same pace and power will take us to the final.
Oh and on the Zombie Rangers? They should not be given a place in the third division. The protocol is that the vacant place is opened up to any applicants and then SPL clubs decide who gets it.

A glass raised after our victory. Enjoy! HH

“So what would we think of RFCia/newco in SFL 1 next season?”
It would probably mean even more rules and regulation would have to be abused to achieve that.
I believe they are capable of doing anything, of course.
The consequences for a club breaking the rules should not be that the authorities break the rules.
Good luck to The Bhoys today.
I think it’ll be a tight game, but hopefully Celtic will be at the final.
Won’t be able to see the game myself as I have a family do to go to (Grrr! :) ), but I hope everyone enjoys the game.
All the best
Eric
With five minutes to go and the Celts one down some wag at the Celtic end shouted don’t worry lads there’s still plenty of time left and guess what?
Two goals and and we were in the final, what a day.
Shape is just as important as the players, same as last week we skoosh this.

2-0 to the Mighty HOOPS today :-)))

Does anyone know of a pub that will be showing the game today in hun infested Bo’ness?

You not going to the Football & Cricketers Arms? ;-)
I see that the piece of excrement that is Waddle of the SM has a shocking go
at Joe O’Rourke in his column today its so bad I thought it was leggo,he could’nt disguise his hatred for celtic in what is supposed to be an comment about Ralph Topping but is in fact a not so thinly vieled attack on celtic & its supporters, its a shocker
Serge
The Auld Hole in the Wa’!
I posted earlier about finding a venue in Caen for the Rangers game.
We could easily go on to le Havre, and I see there is a McDaid’s Irish pub there. Anyone know if they show the games?
Serge
Did you make any headway finding your friends, Tom and Marie?
I’ve asked a few people but no luck. Suspect i mght have more luck in the AHITW.

No joy i’m afraid, Maybe Teuchter ar la will have more luck when he gets back from hol. He owned the chalets just outside the town not far from Linlithgow Rose ground.
O ME MISERUM.

iki @ 10:33,
Very True.
However they have been pretty blatant about their desire to change the rules for R@ngers benefit. That no longer lives in the land of us paranoid tims.
I believe the reason for the delay in dishing out penalties for anything including dual contracts, singing their choons and corporate malfeasances is due to the fact they haven’t agreed the RFCia survival package yet.
The next month will be interesting.
Especially if we win today, seen Hearts QF and the looked pretty good, fancy Beattie will get one today…
Celtic (hooped) 3:1 Hearts (marooned)

I stayed there for about 8 months around 2006, Then was based in Edinburgh for 5 years, although abroad most of the time. Be back in the Burgh by the end of the year so will be through for a few pints.
Agree with @TonyBarretTimes that Skrtel excellent for Liverpool and Jelavic at £5m is a snip. Class act.

Any names ring a bell?
