  1. I thought Lewis Morgan looked the part.

Looked like he wanted to own the place.

    Gallus is not bad.

  2. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

BBC report says St Johnstone only committed three fouls all night.

Shoooorly shum mishtake,or more like some Cheatin’ Beaton.

  3. Watched the film Only The Brave recently, Josh Brolin brilliant, Jeff Bridges too.

True story of forest fire firemen.

    Good film.

  4. BMCUW

Beaton was masonic cheatin whole game. We should put in an official protest after a game we won. Will we?

If France played Germany, can you imagine that game with a French ref?

There would be obvious bias, and everyone would agree.

A Rangers fan reffin a Celtic game is ridiculous, as is his reffin any Rangers game.

But this is what is happening.

  6. Plenty commenting on young Lewis Morgan.

Bhoy looked confident in his own ability, carried himself and the ball with a bit of swagger, looked like he wanted to be the main mhan – no hiding and hoping there.

Could turn out to be the Paddy Roberts that Paddy Roberts failed to deliver.

Play him with a licence to roam and let’s see what damage he can do.

This was a win for all Celts. Well done Brendan, Griff, Dedryck and our entire squad.

    Over to you, Paul67.

  8. If Brendan wizny a PLC puppet, then Dedryck the”asset” wouldn’t have been allowed back into the team, having walked out of it, and contributing to us not getting into the CL, costing the club at least £30 million.

Your either in charge of the football operations, or your not. It can’t be both ways.

Dedryck displayed tonight, that he dizny have the cuteness required in Celtic players to get round mibbery.

Or, maybe that mindset isn’t encouraged in the dressing room. Who’s fault is that ?

Celtic are going to get caught out, by not having an out ball, after the sale, without any attempt at replacing Moussa. The attitude from the PLC seems to be – “If the fans keep sucking it up, well, there’ll be no replacement, and we’ll (PLC) keep troosering the profits.” – who’s fault is it that, the PLC can do these things, then walk away from them ?

Yes, I’ve got you. Boycott everything except your television screen.

  10. I decided to indulge myself and watch the second half again.

    We were scintillating.

Fast, direct and aggressive, even more so when Morgan appeared.

The St Johnstone goal led a charmed life, and much of the game was compressed into their third of the pitch.

The keeper got lucky a few times and last ditch defending kept the clean sheet till Leigh pounced like a lion on a hapless antelope.

I noticed that Leigh seemed to be carrying an injury at the end as did Brown.

I can’t go to bed without saying a word about the referee.

Miserable cheat. That’s twice as many as he deserves.

And it’s a good night from me.

And a good night from him.

  11. I wanted to watch the game last night close up as possible as we are being put under pressure.

I liked a lot of what I saw. St Johnstone were as negative as most teams in the League.

There is no doubt the squad really needed freshened up in the Summer, and I mean with quality players, the Board failed as I don’t think they have an idea how much playing as much as Celtic do takes it toll.

Brendan is an excellent Coach and we are very Lucky to have him IMO.

    On to the actual game.

I liked the way Every CH was trying to break through.

Gutted Kris looks to have a hamstring injury – they take a while to heal.

Good game by Mikael – he tried to go forward more.

Jack Hendry looked more dominant in the air than I have seen previously – Attack that Ba’.

And Jack kept everything simple – I like the Dude – as he never hides and that is a thoroughly good trait to have especially when Celtic are not firing on All Cylinders. He should never have been exposed to the AEK qualifier alongside Kris.

Big Boyata was Excellent for so much of the game but got complacent in the 2nd half at times. The Referee (The Cheat) should have called a foul before the bad tackle on Mikael and he went tonto because, IMO, he does care for the Manager.

    Circle the Wagons Big Time.

Broonie, IMO, is really struggling now, I’m hoping the Bhoy Mulumbu can take some of the load. Broonie still does so many good things but it is not hard to see.

Callum needs a wee rest from the team, showing up after HT for a wee bit isnae nearly enough. We all know now how good he can be as a player.

Tom really needs to step up and get his brilliant feet back working. Lovely pass that sent Kieran scampering to the byeline – Kieran Produced a Brilliant ba’.

Olivier played well but if you are gonnae get the move it seems obvious you want – Grow up and give it your all in EVERY game.

Leigh wisnae MOTM for me, he wasted too many chances and he isnae a bulky player that needs games to get back up to speed.

Odsonne played ok but come on Big Man yer pal has left the Club get over it.

James Forrest, IMO, was lucky to stay on the park after the 1st half, he got better in the 2nd but at his AGE he has to take Every game by the scruff of the neck – especially crucial wans….. he has so much talent.

Lewis Morgan looks to have the gallusness to be a player for Celtic.

    Great Second Half Celtic.

    Onwards and Upwards.

    Great assessment.

    Leigh , however.

The only Celtic goalscorer in the last two Celtic games.

    That`ll do me.

  13. macjay1,

    Olivier was my MOTM.

The wee man is in Iceland seeing the sights. Not sure they have great Internet connectivity as the only video he seems to be glum – That might be the temperature. Looks well chilly. Tried phoning a few times as well.

He is Bach home Today and back @ Celtic Park on Saturday.

  14. Good morning CQN from a dark and mild Garngad

You know it is the easiest thing in the world to sit and constantly criticise Celtic, Board, Brendan, players, fans, and none of it constructive.

So according to one poster there is nothing good about Celtic.

Does he just watch so he can criticise ??? Zzzzzzzzz. Boring

    A lost Tim soul

  15. On a brighter note how good did Lewis Morgan look.

I thought he was excellent when he came on.

A big future with us hopefully

Any win last night was going to be good but that could have been 3 or 4

  16. Good morning from a mild, dry, windy Clydebank.

Second half last night we were good.

    Lewis Morgan was excellent.

Time he started in our team.

I agree with every word you said there mhate

Macjay, LG scored one but his profligacy will cost against better teams, when for eg, we need two!

Morgan’s Spiced ….. oh yes please. He looked good at Killie and great last night.

  18. Good morning, friends – the sun is almost shining in ole EK ;-)

Same old same old first half last night. But whatever was in the half time team talk it did the trick – came out the blocks flying and apart from a wee 5 minute breather we were pretty impressive and direct throughout the second half. Just take that into Saturday please.

I know some will say this isn’t saying much but Jack Hendry’s best performance for us so far?

Oh and up until the 92nd minute I also thought that Bain’s performance was worthy of a wee run in the team.

    Work calling….

  19. Jobo

    Hendry did just fine

I also share your thoughts on Bain ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️??

  20. I couldn’t get a proper link fir the first half as I was on the train but I don’t think I missed anything. Got a link for the second half and we battered them with their GK being MOT2nd half.

Just my opinion but we don’t need to defend against shitty teams like this, St Mirren, etc. I would play Izzy and Gamboa and let them maraud up and down the wings. Both are capable of using their pace and possibly creating chances by crossing into the box.

  21. Need to play Morgan on Saturday. Aberdeen will play the way they did against Hibs on Tuesday night. Defend deep and congest the middle of the park. Their weak links are their full backs, Logan is dreadful and Considine is slow. Morgan and Forrest wide will exploit their weakness and create the spaces for the lies of Nthcam, Rogic and Griffiths who should all start as well.

  22. traditionalist88 on

Much improved 2nd half, worrying amount of chances passed up again.

And one thing about liabilities is that they are often innovative at finding new ways to fck things up. So well done Dedryck. He might look like a player beside Jack Hendry but after his petulance in the summer and his catalogue of errors the jerseys really have shrunk in his case.

  23. Pleased as I am to get a hard won victory away from home last night, I still have worries.

Whilst some are concerned about CBs getting injured, I think we have cover there with those returning from injury and the option of Lustig moving there. Besides, our defence is functioning quite well.

It is in the striker department that I have fears. The much vaunted- play two strikers- strategy was implemented last night and we still managed only one late goal. Edouard seemed more comfortable in that withdrawn role but is still not firing, though, as a young player, some inconsistency should be expected.

My worry is, what if one of them gets injured. Can the remaining striker carry the burden of League and Europa fixtures on their own? Is an off-form (for some time now) Scott Sinclair going to be thrown in there? Is Ryan Christie our 3rd striker?

Unlike defence, goal scoring is a major issue for us, even with the likes of the 2nd half pressure we exerted last night.

  24. Big Railroad Blues

Our now traditional greetings from Govanhill lacked a wee bit of descriptive cover this morning.

Get back to using famous album titles as the setting.

We have not exhausted options such as

    The Dark Side of Govanhill

    The Man who sold Govanhill

    or Electric Govanhillland

Go to work with a metaphor! :-)

  25. Good result last night , average in the first half , but more like ourselves in the second . A few wee thoughts , the more game time played the better the griff will get , young Lewis looks the part and may solve a problem up front , with the lack of form from sinky , but we have a few worries needing addressed , again the CH positions are causing us problems , god only knows what causes joso to get injured so often , now berkovic as well , and dedryk,s red last night also gives us a major headache . I wont even mention commper . It also looked last night that captain marvel was injured , he was holding back in challenges ,he would have been steaming into , god help us if he is out for a wee while . But my main concern is our two french guys , imo they dont want to be here , ntcham for me is just going through the motions, not playing to the ability he has. Eddy God knows what’s up with him , again not playing to his ability . I hope Celtic have there scouts working overtime ,as it looks to me like replacements will need found for a good few who at present are showing no desire to play in the famous hoops .As always just my opinion

    ,

  26. Gary 67,

After watching the Hibs game,I share your opinion of Considine,Hibs roasted him for pace.Morgan should start.Edouarde looking like a lost boy at the moment. Not doing nearly enough.First touch, poor.

To lose 3 CHs in 2 games takes some beating, even with our luck.

  27. Talking about his megabucks offer to go to China, BR said yesterday:

“But I’ve found happiness here and I spoke with the owners of the club and the board and we found an agreement and we move on.

“My concentration was with Celtic. Since I’ve been at Celtic the last couple of years, I’ve had a few offers, so that’s no different to any of the others.

My focus is very much on Celtic, being here and trying to help us rise to the challenge of this season.

“There’s nothing more really to say on that. I’ve still got this year and another two years on my contract and, unless they get fed up with me or something else happens, I’m very privileged to be here.”

I wonder what agreement he, PL and DD reached? Obviously something in favour of BR.

Big Pete will be raging that his Chinese takeaway plot failed :)

  28. Brendan 100% correct.

He admitted: “I just watched it back afterwards and it is a stupid red card. I think he has enough opportunities not to get sent off.

“It was an emotional game near the end, Dedryck feels as if he should had a free-kick and didn’t get it.

“In fairness to John, he gives him a chance not to get the red card, it was not what we would want.

Boyata refused to play in a Champions League game and now this, he may be the best centre half at the club but his stupidity has left Brendan with a problem for the semi final just as he did for Athens.

  29. I only saw bits of the first half but all the second half last night so how Chris Mclaughlin of the BBC could HONESTLY arrive at this is beyond me:

“Holders Celtic edged into the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup as Leigh Griffiths’ 83rd-minute goal earned a nervy win over St Johnstone.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are enduring their worst start to a term since 1998 and toiled for chunks of this match.”

If he experienced it as `nervy` Chris must be a fanatical Celtic supporter.
