  1. I’ve rarely seen a hun ref miss an open goal. Don’t make it easy for them to send you off…rule number one if you play for the Celts.

  2. Is it just me or is there maybe a whiff of racism in Beatons demeanour and actions towards Boyata tonight?

When was the last time a player was sent off in the SPL for dissent?

Well done to all the players and coaches, a big win tonight.

  3. Delighted with the result first and foremost. Thought they were very deep in the first half and allowed us no space. It was tough for us although we created two clear openings. Not quite sure what happened in the second half but it was clear early on we had much more space in which to play. Couldn’t really tell from my vantage point but looked like some sort of tactical change by them, they were definitely more out of their shape. Anyway, we thoroughly deserved the win having created enough chances to win 3 matches. Credit to Hendry who was excellent as was Morgan and James Forrest. We limited them to next to nothing. They are a bunch of hammer throwers, unfortunately for John Beaton he was unable to assist them as he wanted too, much to his ire. Hence his rage at the end. Brendan can be clever and use the bias to unite the team. Overall a decent effort and a well deserved win.

13 corners tonight and not even close to scoring from any.

sick to death commenting on our No.9 taking all the corners with little or no return for his efforts , even having our centre backs take up position near the 18 yard line to attack the ball other than standing on the 6 yard line and having powder puff attemps if we manage to get a head on to it from such a starting position .

Henke did miss some sitters. I well remember.

Le Griff misses many more imho.

Still, I welcome the win. And the second half grit.

First time I walked into Wintersgills Great Western Road and a hard as nails pub owner Jim Brogan poured me a Guinness, I was in awe. Jim Brogan RIP had a huge bright aura surrounding him.

Celtic great. Told me his biggest achievement in life was playing for Celtic.

    He was my kinda man.

    God rest his soul

All great strikers miss, some even miss sitters but all good strikers score when you need them too

    Hail Hail

I thought you were away to your kip so I added Henrik to my analogy :-)

Fellow Celts we are still in September and in 4 competitions, but for me get the work clothes on …. cmon the Hoops, our team in the Hoops very rarely taste defeat so get the Hoops on… that might be simple but football is simple …. don’t complicate it

Defo roll on the dandy dons and I hope Livvy put a bit pressure on the leaders Hearts come this weekend :-)

  10. Would love to see the number of goals per cross, corner and set piece that we score compared to some sort of global average – we much be significantly low in that stat and have been for a few years.

  12. GFTB our greatest ever goal scorer only took 3 penalties and missed them all. The oultimers used tae say it’s because he wisnae allowed tae heifer them lol

  13. Can’t go without commenting on that.

“I’m goin’ tae send him aff!”

    “Dedryck. Get here!”

    “Right,”

Yellow card stuck back in pocket and red produced.

However, I’ve just read BR’s comments about the sending off which, if true, then Boyata’s no chance.

He said: “I just watched it back afterwards and it is a stupid red card. I think he has enough opportunities not to get sent off.

“It was an emotional game near the end, Dedryck feels as if he should had a free kick and didn’t get it.

“In fairness to John he gives him a chance not to get the red card, it was not what we would want.”

    Thanks, Brendan.

Hendry and whom at central defence?

    Good God!

  16. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Good tweet by Barcabhoy re tonight’s match stats.

One team totally dominated possession, territory, shots and attacking opportunities.

Yet this team out fouled their defensive opponents by a ratio of 4.67:1

This is a statistical improbability of the most extreme kind.

You will not see this officiating trend repeated ANYWHERE ELSE in world football.

    Time to speak out Celtic.

  17. The fact we won tonight, despite the actions of Cheatin Beaton the durty hun bastard, should not stop us from calling this cheatin refereein out.

    Celtic, please call it out.

I think every goalscoree has too miss many chances nobody is perfect but scoring after the easy chances just goes to show it is second nature to them, I really like our Leigh I think he has the lot, am not saying he is better than others but for me that’s fact he wants to be there is as important as him scoring goals

    Jamesgang 11.23pm

    Nothing to disagree with there

Wee Leigh running to celebrate with Brendan is my highlight, we will pump some team soon and that could might lead to more pumpings…. I would settle for Celtic 1 Aberdeen 0 and Salzburg 0 Celtic 1 …

    Good night n god bless

  19. I have little sympathy for Boyata after all this is a guy who refused to play for us in our attempt to qualify for the Champions League,he clearly does not want to be at Celtic and will probably sign a pre contract agreement in January. He had every opportunity to shut up and accept his yellow card but he kept at it.If he feels so hard done by he can appeal and let us know what he said.It was good to see in the second half we played at a higher tempo and made more chances than in the last three games. We are going to struggle for goals this season as we have not replaced Armstrong,Dembele or Roberts and Sinclairs whose whole demeanour suggests there’s not going to be lot coming from him this season.Hopefully we can play with that higher tempo against Aberdeen on Saturday.

We were saying the same thing DD :-))))

At the insistence of MiT, you might see a wee change in Wee BGFC’s posting arrangements soon…nothing finalised yet, but keep your eyes open!

He’ll not be posting tonight though – not long back in from Perth and he’s off to his bed (had a wee peek at the goal first).

Match summary – good first 10 minutes, dire to halftime, much better second half.

Three goals in recent matches for wee Leigh (Wee BGFC’s favourite) – keep playing him and he’ll keep scoring goals – it’s what he does.

Wee Jimmy – hiding for almost all of the game – would have been off if we had another sub.

Lack of movement from most players for most of the game.

Hun-like decisions all night from Beaton and the far-side linesman.

Any win in the cup will do for me.

  25. The striker in my mind that missed the most sitters was Ally McCoist.

But he he was always there first, quickest witted, and scored the most goals.

The Griff is the same, but is a better footballer.

  29. Passing the ball about the back is hugely frustrating to watch.

Ajer striding forward through the middle gives us a wee thrill, but really, with our huge cash advantage, is that all we can do?

Give us a Paddy McCourt, or some guy you have to sober up for the game but will give you a memory for a lifetime.

  30. The trust between Brendan and Lawwell is finished as far as I can see.Meanwhile our major shareholder, who would not know we were playing tonight, will be safely ensconced in his 6 Star Hotel in Paris for the Ryder Cup.
