  1. First half we were just like our recent games.

Second half, signs of the team regaining belief and form.

Chances were missed, but at last they were being made. Just in time for the Aberedeen game.

  2. !!BADA BING!! on 26TH SEPTEMBER 2018 10:20 PM

Can see a Monday night game at Hampden….

If there is The it’ll be them with their home game against Killie moved to the Thursday. Our game at Dundee is live on tv so can’t be moved. Murrayfield on the Sunday and a double header most likely compromise, probably is v Hearts there as we will fill it.

  3. Alasdair MacLean on

    Sandman,

    Exactly,,

Only a few seasons ago it was acceptable not only to shout and swear at a referee, but also to grab his card arm and shove it back in his pocket.

Maybe the rules have changed since the team who did these things ceased to exist. IE, went into liquidation.

  4. Thought Lewis Morgan looked the part when he came on. And Tom Rogic was more nimble than of late (knee injury clearing up?)

CalMac very poor in the first half but much better in the second. Jamesy too.

Ajer was also looking the biz until injured, Hendry had a good game thereafter.

  5. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Modern refs are taught situation management.

    Supersutton – spot on.

The official abdicated his responsibility to manage the situation, ignored an assault on a Celtic player and chose to wallow in offence.

    Pathetic.

In the EPL would be given the weekend off in a heartbeat.

    Hail hail

  6. Well done Bhoys

    Much improved 2nd half

Let’s build on this on Saturday

Now, the semi final is just over 4 weeks away

Time for Ajer, Simonuvic and Benkovic to be fit.

  7. Theyll drag Celtic through to Murrayfield, Saturday 12noon kick off if they can get away with it too.

  8. Good to hear some positive comments re Jack Hendry, think Dedryck at the same age.

Hope and believe he will be a good player for us, ok he is no Morton or Jozo, but that is a plus surely.

  9. Gary67

    Hope you are correct.

John Beaton is still a Durty Orange Bastard, however.

    Cheat wi a whistle.

  10. The more I watch the footage of Beaton sending off Boyata the clearer it is that he is making an emotional decision presumably based on anger. Not what a referee should be doing. Emotional decisions tend to be rash and impulsive but not always wrong( but is in this instance)

Has to be a re think on the Semis. Not possible to playbon a Thursday and again at noon on a Saturday, when you include travelling.Huns,Aberdeen,at Murrayfield,

*why not, we played Dynamo Kiev in Tbilisi Georgia due to severe weather in Kiev on the Wednesday night.

After a commendable 1-1 draw, 4-1 on aggregate, leading to a semi with Liverpool, our flight was diverted to Sweden. In Bomma airport in Stockholm their plane failed mechanically at take off and the team did not arrive back in Glasgow until early hours of Friday morning.

Jock took team straight back to Parkhead for a work out at 11pm before they could go home and 500 fans turned up to watch.

Although Jock phoned the SFA fae Stockholm they didnae offer tae postpone the following day’s game at swinecastle, we lost 2-3 after tieing the game up twice due tae wee Wispy scoring 2 for the calvinist.

We did get revenge 5 weeks later knocking them out of the SC after a replay, that wee kirkie bassa scored in both games for them.

  12. thought SB slowed down our play a lot tonight , think we could give our captain a rest to find/get his mojo back and give mulumbu a run in the team.

  13. Hendry did nothing wrong.

    Morgan did a lot right.

Griffiths misses far more than scores

Our goal showed how simple a game football can and should be.

Beaton is a goat-chasing, Hun bastard.

    Thank you and good night.

    HH jg

  14. Foul count tonight Celtic 14 St Johnstone 3 by a ref who is consistent when he refs us no matter how much possession we have.

    Cheating Beaton.

  15. DELANEYS DUNKY on 26TH SEPTEMBER 2018 10:34 PM

At one stage we had 73% possession and 9 fouls against, they had 2 fouls against. How the f… can that happen?

  16. The SPFL will have known for some time now that there was a likelihood of both Celtic and Sevco being in the semifinals. Surely to goodness they will already have a plan in place for such an eventuality?

  17. Ok then, I’ll add a bit.

Morgan does not look out of place. In fact he looks a lot like Rogic on a good day.

I worried when Hendry came on but delighted he managed to be in a winning Celtic team. A few very good contributions. Whatever he doesn’t or doesn’t have no one could accuse him of hiding or lacking bottle. Fair play to him.

  18. NEILBHOY on 26TH SEPTEMBER 2018 10:40 PM

Well played Lewis Morgan. He must be due a starting place.

We improved in the second half but when he came on we moved up a level. With him and Forrest wide and stretching them, space opened up for others to find space in dangerous areas. He complements KT as well as, like Sinclair at his best, he can move inside taking the full back with him, creating a big space for KT to run into.

  19. Just back from the game, more like it in the second half. Created more chances. Thought Hendry and Morgan did well when they came on

  20. Before kick off tonight just think there are some “Celtic” fans who actually revel when things are going too well, imagine being a Celtic fan and when Celtic don’t win you get a wee buzz …

Nah, not for many of us on here, delighted our best goal scorer in a good number of seasons can still notch the winner after many easier chances

    Jamesgang 10.39pm

Griffiths misses far more than scores

Henrik missed fae more than he scored, so wee Griff is in good company :-)

Some record Brendan has in the pub league cups, better than any manager running our club

Catchya at the weekend… bring on the dandy dons

  21. Delanys dunky right as usual.

    Well done the hoops

Well played the subs.Scary when they got a corner and nobody on the posts again.

Astroturf should be for lower leagues.

RIP Jim Brogan . Good man. Met him a few times. Loved the Hoops and always in great nick.

  22. As someone who stays within walking distance of Hampden, and who can go to my local and have some beers pre and post match, if the option for the semi for us is Hampden or Murrayfield, I’ll take the one hour drive through to Edinburgh, the pain trying to fins a parking space and no drink till I get back home, before going to the dump.

  23. 13 corners tonight and not even close to scoring from any. Do we practice them? Do we have someone coming up with different plays when we get one? After the World Cup, 40+% of goals from set pieces, you’d think that would be a source of goals for a team like ours who get plenty of corners/free kicks around the box. When teams sit in like tonight, set pieces could be the best way to score, but we don’t even look dangerous from them.

  24. DD 11.00pm

I hope young Lewis being comfortable with both feet doesn’t get that “coached” out of him

Hope you go through a wee spell of not going to away games until we are back on top form :-)

Would be delighted if you got a ticket on 29/12/18 as that will be a good day, not entitlement just fact :-)
