Nah, I think you’ll find the vast majority of Celtic fans only want success and as best a team on the park as is financially possible.
Consider this. The winners of the English Championship received £30m in prize money, Celtic received a paltry £3m for the SPL
Lawwell has done well considering the piss poor financial disposition our club is in given we play in a back water.
As for the interview in the Sun, he has all of us discussing it plus hundreds of thousands reading about it.

The ‘Ratner’ moment again. Criticise the league we’re in. Despite being stuck in it. Isn’t being negative about the product more likely to put people off? More the point, Peter has oversaw a massive drop in turnover, a massive drop in fan numbers/customers and has failed in the task of getting a manager worthy of the cause. The drop in turnover and employing a manager who failed in Europe costing probably £30+ million in lost revenue saw him receive a remuneration package of £1m plus. Imagine if he’d been successful!

I’m fairly sure the aim wasn’t for hundreds of thousands discussing whether Peter Lawwell is simply an insensitive half wit or or one who holds our support in such contempt he’ll speak to whomsoever he likes. I’m prepared to bet money that the conversation did go “Hey Peter, do you think speaking to the sun will seem more or less derision reigned on you?” While Peter answered “What’s wrong with the Sun, lets do this! The working classes read the Sun!”. Hundreds of thousands talking about it, and about three of discussing what he actually said. I don’t even know what was in the article – I wouldn’t read the Sun, excerpts from it or even a cut and paste. I’m not reading the Sun. If the grand lord of darkness was featured tomorrow telling of the risk to my heathen soul I’d still ignore it. Not interested in anything that rag carries.

I think the no.1 rule for ANY player should be “don’t lose the ball.”
And no.2 should be “don’t lose the ball.”
After mastering these,if they have the required abilities to be a professional player everything else will fall into place.

I think it’s too easy to get confused about what Celtic are.
We are a football club run as a PLC.
There is only so much we can do in a corrupt world and that includes sport. I have my doubts like you and God knows how many others but what goes on behind the scenes I’ll leave it to Lawwell and the other directors to conduct our affairs in the best interests of the club.
There’s too many conspiracy theories and not enough fact and reality to believe otherwise.

Don’t know why you quote EPL, there are not our rivals. The teams above are and we can’t compete with them as we have a CEO trying to find golden eggs to sell to EPL( that is the only remit of our Chief scouts)
We end up with massive squad of inferior players which brings about CL shambles and Hamden embarrassments
Coupled with the decesion to appoint a coach who euro experience was a close defeat in Madrid one night , shows up a CEO who has made too many costly mistakes
Once again. Don’t go down the paul 67/PL road and talk about EPL as an excuse. It’s an insult to intelligence

Sydney I’m as frustrated as most but have to default to a reality check default position when all the criticism re the plc board take hold.
They have their duty to shareholders of Celtic plc where as I am only concerned with Celtic FC.
I just think there’s more to be lost infighting and without a successfull PLC behind us .
We need to be thinking in terms of ad infinitum and not like the deceased Rangers, living for the moment.
Incidentally my reference was to the English Championship, or at least should have been, in order to highlight the paucity of our financial disposition in the current climate. Steady the ship til calmer waters come along as sure they will.

I hope you are well. Celtic and the other mob have won the League 46 times out of the last 50. Aberdeen won it 3 times, the last being 85/86. Thirty years ago. Dundee United won it 82/83.
Through greed and cheating the Huns imploded. If the new club ever win the league they will be at 1.
The point of all that is to say that, if we are stuck in Scotland. PL needs the Huns to keep people buying SBs etc. The board fear that without the Old Firm, revenue will continue to fall. In my opinion that’s the Catch 22 for the Board. They need to keep the support onside by somehow being seen to do something about the cheating. Social media won’t go away. But they want the Free Money that Sevco will help generate.
Despite our advantages over the last few seasons, we have had careless recruitment, downsizing to an extent that we can’t compete in Europe against average opposition and lost to Sevco at Hampden under Ronny etc etc.
To cap it all of, we backed PL last week with regard to tabloid journalism and within days he appears in that rag.
Personally I feel that was his Souness moment.
And that’s a generous interpretation of our CEO/PLC strategy.

Perhaps the fact that tabloids and the mass body of our support dont give two hoots to any of these issues we “hardcore” care so much about are probably weighed carefully by the economists, sales and pr folks whose responsibility is to make Celtic plc as profitable as possible.
Not saying I like the reality but what’s the alternative?

Deila says that`s not true. And that he had a very good relationship with P.L. specifically and the Board in general.
Of course , P.L. must bear some of the responsibility , but he is the Board gopher.

If we had 6m in bank and a player was available that could improve the team , we would not sign him as that could threaten PL bonus
Let’s be quite clear about this. Decisions for our club are made only whether it satisfys PL bonus
Check last 6 years bonus
Think 2010 he got zero
Then about 200k
Then in 2012 he got a whopping 1.1m dollar bonus
Since then about 450k bonus
This has been achieved by making sure we would only need to sell one player after Cl shambles , where we bought no one but gambled. We lost that gamble. Sold a player a 100% bonus
The man is evil and needs to be removed
On the matter of spend to get CL money v risks of failure what Id do is this based on limited knowledge of Football Manager.
Id contract a developer to build an app where real life income and expenditure parameters were built in. It doesn’t have to be actual payments just an actual budget under each heading and wages etc can be allocated as the manager thinks as long as budget is kept to. Same with income.
Then see the impact of decisions taken on qualifying/not qualifying over a three year contract period with two players being replaced with less developed each season.
In short Id like to see what we get if we consistently qualify over say five years.
What we lose if we don’t qualify one in three or two in three and what we can do to improve chances whilst minimising the risks.
In the absence of real life figures what models do we work to?
Such an app would make a good pressie and could produce a CQN FM Blog with Neganon2 going on about lack of response from the key Board and TD telling him to leave the Board alane.

One of the many things Ronny was supposed to bring was the notion of perpetual motion.

Johansen should be playing the experienced old head.
