Good night, CQN. Good to have the blog mainly on football and the club affairs with some good posts both supporting and criticising the state of affairs. The selection of a new manager/coach is going to be key but even there we have different schools of thought and approaches.

Let’s hope that we can all enjoy next Sunday and the presentation despite our differences of opinions because at the end of the day we are Celtic supporters.

Look forward to skimming back CQN in the morning with good posts and not rehashed mantras. Despite our problems the future should be green.

If it’s progress you want from a manager, which team has made the most “progress” over the last third of the season?

    Motherwell?

  3. MAIDENBHOY

Efe was playing principally because he’s fit, unlike Boyata, Mulgrew, Simunovic, O’Connell.

Who would you like to have blamed – Peter Brady?

  4. Why the big goodbye for Izzy does he not have another year left on his contract ? Surely the new manager will decide who stays and goes after assessing the squad.

On another note I think Phil does not have a clue what’s going on at Celtic Park.

  5. Scott Allan and Stuart Armstrong will be hoping Brendan Rodgers gets manager’s job. Both are the type of central midfielders he liked at Liverpool and Swansea.

I’m not bothered at all by our performance tonight or the result.

Team will have different faces for start of season and new manager.

    Championeeze!!

    Oh the irony:oD))))

The reply from the brains of sevco to the offshore game report required the offshore game to review their conclusions :oD))))

It now turns out that as originally thought, Res12 stood the test of validity as a concern on its own, without all the extra work put in on the Charlotre Fakes stuff, although that was certainly the main factor in getting the off shore game to look at it closely and for people including the Plc to take it more seriously.

Have a look and remember who forced them to review their conclusions :oD)))

  9. A few posters on team line up suggested being happy with Allan and Christie in central midfield.

They of course forgot to factor in our very modern coaches playing system.

Allan who is a centre mid played wide left and Christie who plays wider went more central.

As i said earlier i hope the new coach gives a clean slate to existing players as they have been working with obstacles to their natural abilities for two years.

  10. well at least we know now why christie and allan aint in the starting 11..( And in my opionion will NEVER be)…Coz Rogic and Bitton Are WAYYYYY Better.lSimple..THEY both Will NEVER make it at CELTIC.Not Good Enough.

Top of the evening sports fans, it’s your favourite majority shareholder here.

Big Peter texted me the result, big pity, but of course it’s all Robbie Dialler’s fault – our new super soar away manager will get so much more out of the exciting talents at the Celtics like Eddie Ambrose and Stevie Johnston.

We will prove on the park next season that we are indeed the best run club in Europe and also the most ethical club in the world.

So on that note, I heard someone mention Rafael Benitez as a suggestion for our next manager.

No chance – we’re going for a much bigger name than that.

Davie Moyes? Nah, not for me, he doesn’t like horse racing.

Roy Keane? We came close the last time but he would end up panning big Peter’s melt in.

I bet that makes you malcontents want him even more heh heh.

We’re going for a well known Scottish name, a big noise in Lanarkshire……step forward Alex Neil.

The SNP guy, not the fellow at Norwich. We spoke to the one at Norwich and he was giving me kittens asking for a £20 million transfer budget. He is obviously as stupid and ignorant as all you Celtics fans.

I mean transfer budget? sell Tierney for £10m and give the new manager £3m for 3 of dudu’s diddies on deadline day after we’ve gone out of Europe – now that’s what I’m talking about!

Now until next time remember – your opinions on the club are worthless unless you have run a £100 million turnover business. At the very least.

    Toddle loo.

  13. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    Sheik yerbouti

Pulis would be a great catch.

Like Yogi, he has been it seen it done it.

None of the main contenders mentioned have either’s depth of experience.

  14. PmcG’s post are more like he has done a pot of magic mushrooms and dreamed up his writings, dear reader.

As someone has said before it looks more and more that he knows as much as we do about the goings on at Celtic Park.

    Not on the level5 then?

  15. I notice chief of the malcontents ,Neganon has been on.Hardly ever hear from him when the team wins, and on the very rtare occasion we do,its very stinted praise, but lose.he is on like a shot.

Some still cant see through this trumpet.More fool them.

  16. Wee Bobby Collins, it was 3-2. (Or 2-3) in both games with Dundee Utd that season. (1967) A team of total failures, as Kenny McIntyre and James Traynor told us when they were small fatish children. Andy Walker agreed, although he probably couldn’t even talk then. Neil McCann waved a colouring in book, and Rangers were immediately planning to get even. Just wait till Laudrup is born, they thought. We’ll show you Timmies how to swashbuckle. And the rest is history. (Providing you know your history)

    A few thoughts on tonight

    1) Result sums up Ronny D. Lots of possession, nice patterns of play, opposition happy to let us get on with it, and pick us off

    2) As someone said earlier, I believe Stuart Armstrong will be long term success with us, but , he needs to find his position, which isn’t left side of a 3

    3) McGregor isn’t a central midfield player – decent in possession but can’t tackle. Squad player.

    4) Johansen is a good player, but he is either physically or mentally unfit. If he can get it together, he can be a good player again

    4) Ryan Christie looks a potentially very good player

    5) Janko is a flying machine, decent in possession, but positionally poor. Could be next Agathe?

Finally, the players looked in 3rd gear tonight, hopefully they will raise it on Sunday to give RD a decent send off

  23. Bada, sorry,Bailly only had eyes for the cross Its Efe coming in behind him that has the clearer picture.Should never have been near the keeper, but thats Efe.One of lifes unfortunates.Every mistake,a goal, well nearly. You have to love him though.Next season, hopefully from afar.

    Wee soul.

  24. The media labeled Efe a dud long before he was one it seems he believed his own press. For me he has many qualities I like in a footballer…

A good first touch, turn of pace, decent passing, skill & 95% of the time he’s an effective defender.

Would have liked to have seen him given a run as a defensive midfielder where a mistake or two may not have been so costly. Having said that it’s easy to forget how good he was in his first season. Efe along with VVD formed a solid partnership & helped Forster to a clean sheet record. Not too shabby!

I think he had his nose pushed out when Denayer arrived & ever since his confidence has been shot. There’s a player in there we’ve all seen it & maybe he’ll rediscover his mojo under a new manager or at a new club.

Whether his future lies at Celtic or not. Good luck to him!

  25. Well done Leigh :-)

  26. Aw Turkeybhoy. Shucks. It’s nice you think of me so often.

    Anyway you are always angry.

Winning captains. I think it’s a bit rich blaming the media on what Lawwell said in the err sun this morning. The real problem was the crap, uninspiring, arrogant, complacent and lazy words of the CEO.

As for it not suiting my agenda that Celtic will publicly throw their weight behind res 12, my agenda is for them to do it, but the problem is I simply don’t believe they ever will. I think you and many others are being played.

This board couldn’t give a flying fig for you or anyceltic supporter. We simply don’t suit their agenda unless it’s just about money.

How long can you and the other guys go on with the jam tomorrow nonsense.

Peter and co, with reference to the jam, have, seen it, pinched it and ate it.

This continued delusional nonsense is getting silly now. A bit like some posters trying to twist Lawwells nonsense today as some sort of resignation speech. I mean cmon!

As for Paul. Well it’s just getting embarresing now. “Celtic news, not lazy journalism”? Really?

  27. We have a real cracker in Eric.Great defender. If we can keep him,the stuff of future legends.

    Sipsini,

It’s mostly laughin with a tad angst about whether the CFCB are as corrupt as the SFA.

A slam dunk would be nice, the CF stuff is what nails Campbell Ogilvie so a well worthwhile exercise for that alone, I hate getting too happy, it always means there’s shit to come ying and yang eh
