The sun is shining on Celtic Park as the Easter weekend gets underway, while Celtic face Motherwell tomorrow, who look like they have discovered the limits of Stuart McCall’s managerial abilities this spring.
After some difficult news this week, here’s a ‘Happy Birthday CQN’ message from Wee Oscar, which he recorded last month; an even bigger ray of sunshine than the one beating down on Scotland.
Enjoy the break, if you’re getting one.

There was some discussion earlier today on the blog about their punishment. Don’t want to go back over it all again, but we should remember that, what Sevco often refer to as punishment, was, in fact, the consequence of Rangers (1872-2012) entering administration. Thus, the 10 point penalty was not a punishment, it was a consequence of their administration, just as players leaving with no transfer fee to be paid was the consequence of them going into liquidation. Fairly straightforward, except, in exchange for a transfer of membership of the SFA, Sevco accepted the punishment of the transfer embargo, despite successfully appealing against it, inviting further punishment from UEFA for the whole Scottish game, for taking the SFA to court. They were, of course, never relegated. The only punishment I can identify was the £160,000 pound fine for failing to pay PAYE and National Insurance during season 2011-12. I don’t know if that was ever paid. Now, it’s no longer straightforward. Once liquidated, how do you punish them? Sevco being granted a place in the bottom tier has nothing to do with Rangers (1872-2012), and was the consequence of being a new club looking for a league to play in. Justice in a football sense would have been the removal of titles gained by financial doping, and a clear declaration that Sevco was a new club which would have to make its own history.Justice for the creditors, well, that’s another story. Did I say I didn’t want to go over it all again??
Good night, and here’s to a champion performance tomorrow!
Scrambles eggs is Yesterday. Macca woke up (next to a young Jane Asher) and recounted his dream on a handy piano. Convinced himself for a while that he must’ve stole it from somewhere or other but had to admit originality after a few days. He then wisely changed the lyric from “Scrambled eggs, how I’d dearly love some scrambled eggs” to “Yesterday”.

Paul also wrote another song a bit later – Give Ireland Back to the Irish – and it was banned from the BBC.
Just reflecting on waking up next to a young Jane Asher. Would probably beat Heather Mills. I will never know.

Visited the Beatles museum in Albert Dock last year. Has a bit dedicated to their solo careers at the end. Good footage of Jock Lennon on a Paddy’s day parade/civil rights march in New York shyly stating his opinions on the Emerald Isle. Also some classic Thomas the Tank Engine footage!
