Sunshine getting through

885

The sun is shining on Celtic Park as the Easter weekend gets underway, while Celtic face Motherwell tomorrow, who look like they have discovered the limits of Stuart McCall’s managerial abilities this spring.

After some difficult news this week, here’s a ‘Happy Birthday CQN’ message from Wee Oscar, which he recorded last month; an even bigger ray of sunshine than the one beating down on Scotland.

Enjoy the break, if you’re getting one.

  2. Ernie,

I like straightforwardness too. Is that a word?

Anyway I am not a member of the SNP. I have not yet decided what I will vote.

The no campaign is really annoying me. It really is all based on threats, short term economics and fear. It hasn’t impressed me.

It also annoys me when those who don’t have a vote in the referendum pretend they do.

  3. On Yes?No. Not too long ago, thirty Scottish Labour MPs joined the Tories in the Westminster voting lobby.

At least one of them has publicly justified her actions on the grounds that ‘it was the right thing to do’. In the event of a No vote one wonders just how many ‘right things to do’

    they will find.

Indeed. At least Judas asked for thirty pieces of silver. SDM sold out to wee Cragie for a quid.

I should have added that Judas had the good sense to top himself.

  14. Leaving aside that a Yes Vote is not a vote for the SNP.

This is a poor analogy. Imagine that you sit beside a right tube at Celtic Park. His or her tubeness does not mean that he or she is any less a Celtic supporter than you are.

Your question about 1979 appears to ask for a yes or know answer.

But it was not that simple.

The vote of no confidence that brought Callaghan down was against a background of Labour, amongst them Scots introducing the forty per cent rule. (forty percent of the electoral role , not forty per cent of those who actually voted) to germander a referendum on Scottish Devolution. As far as Scotland is concerned, Callaghan was no better than Thatcher. He sim,ply did not give a damn about it.

  15. scotlands shame on

Why do people need someone else to tell them something they already know to be true? I was at a nite out few wks ago, cracking singer in jump suit singing Elvis songs. I knew all along it was a tribute act an Elvis still dead. I knew this without anyone at Celtic confirming it for me. And even if they still insist on calling him Elvis it Will have no impact on whether ornot i buy season ticket.

    Incredible isn’t it.

Murray is finished. MIH is now in bits. He tried to punt Rangers (IL) for six years before snapping the pound out of Craig Whyte’s hand, and these idiots are claiming he is on the verge of buying the new club.

Even worse. Some people believe it may actually happen…

  20. SoT, one of the differneces is that in1979 the SNP was a right wing party and the Labour party was a left wing party…. The Tories of course have remained corruptly incorruptable. Buona Pasqua, from way up North.
