I took a nasty Pavlovian reaction today when I heard the radio announce “Derby day” before realising the presenter was talking about the actual Derby. The last thing anyone planning a night out in Glasgow is the ‘Glasgow derby’, as it was known in its final few years.
As anyone walking the streets of Glasgow and beyond in peace tonight will testify, we don’t want it or miss it. I prefer my football, like my streets, without this nonsense.
Knights Templar sequestrated? Blame those “enemies”. George Peat, Campbell Ogilvie and Lex Gold forced through his appointment as SFA chief executive, despite him not meeting selection criteria. As every wise footballer knows, know your level.
The magnificent framed Lionel Messi top we are auctioning for 1254125 has less than two days to run, keep an eye on it here.
Copies of Willie Wallace’ autobiography, Heart of a Lion, have been flying off the shelf. The mail order fulfilment centre will have stock replenished on Monday after running out. Order your copy below – still time for Father’s Day.

bmcuw – I think that particular charity has been abused quite a lot recently.
@Corsica1968 is all over that topic.
I think he’s a CQNr?
ASonofDan,
The Sunday Herald is a nationalist propaganda sheet, nothing more.
The SNP leadership are very nervous about losing the Catholic votes they have assidiously cultivated, and are aware that anti-Catholic hostility is widespread in their rural constituency parties.
The SHerald is therefore wheeled out to trash the views of a Church official, who of course, wouldn’t be expected to know anything about this, eh?
Those of us who live in west central Scotland can soon see for ourselves Scotland’s “non-hostility” to Catholics, when it clogs up our streets every weekend for the next 3 months.
As for Tom Devine saying Catholics had reached social parity with Protestants in 2001 – well, that only took 150 years…
Deluded zombies with their head in the sand again. I knew they would ignore the non-executive part.
Speaking at the North American Rangers Supporters Association (NARSA) annual conference in San Francisco, Assembly president Andy Kerr said: “Walter Smith becoming chairman of Rangers is fantastic news for everyone connected to the club.
“We know he has the best interests of Rangers at heart and we all hope that his appointment will finally bring much needed stability to our great club.
TOMTHELEEDSTIM
Sure seems that way-anything wi Rangers attached is toxic but untouchable by the authorities
Have to say glad I do not live in Scotland or indeed anywhere which has Orange Walking going on.
Mon the Hoops!
Re Neil Young
I was walking to work a few years ago gutted that i wasn’t going to see him in Aberdeen that night. By the time i got into work i had decided I was going to leave work at lunchtime “unwell.”
Me and my good lady headed up from Glasgow made the journey up from Glasgow and were there in plenty of time to go for an Indian – at one of my favourite Indian restaurant anywhere.
I nipped to the bank as she parked the car then we went in and had a cracking meal washed down by a few beers. We then returned to the car to find she had parked in an office car park that shut at 6pm!!!!
Jings criven, that was unfortunate I thought….
Went to see Neil Young and he was amazing, easily one of my favourite gigs ever – being such a fan i always wondered if i would ever get to see him.
Ended up stoating around Aberdeen for hours trying to get a hotel. Ended up having to stay in a hostel in a room with another 4 people and had to phone a sickie the next day too as couldn’t explain what had happened.
I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Blue Sky, gentle breeze, a pleasant valley Sunday here in the Coombe…
Got to agree with Paul, I haven’t missed the derbies, the Glasgow Cup final was a wee reminder of what we are missing…. Not.
I see Ms Fakes still trying to land one on the Sevcovians.
Now when did I last see spin and swerve like that MMMMmmmmm.

Morning CQRs
Met an old zombie acquaintance at the gym yesterday…. hadnt seen him in years. Mentioned he was going to the pub after training as after the season they had he needed saturday swallys.
After some gentle ribbbing about green and whyte he admitted he hated whyte so much and hoped he would get a bullet through his head soon. ( the guys about 50 btw)
Followed that up with a rant about muslims… all should be thrown out the country … in fact anyone whos skin is off white should be deported. I pointed out not all muslims are bad people and in fact the majority of ” coloured ” people are not Muslims.
His response was they are all the same anyway. Said he buys a paper from a ” paki” but detest him and could never visit a Muslim country like me.
I pointed out that india is mainly hindu with some muslims and Catholic in goa.
He said thats 3 reasons not to go then.
Fortunately I was in a good mood and actually enjoyed baiting him and laughing at his answers. I finally asked him.if .. in his opinion … he was a racist bigot. He answered ” absolutely … and proud of it ”
Scotland …… many cultures ;)
Morning all. Beautiful day for the Feast of Corpus Christi, which always used to be a Thursday in my pluky youth.
Like most huns if they had an original thought in there mind, it would be very lonely.
THE BOY JINKY
That is sad and shameful.
I wonder if that tape with Charlie Boy saying that “Platini is stupid” will come back an bite him in the arse?
Good morning friends from a dry and bright-ish East Kilbride.
And Hooper cannot even get into the squad…
Roy Hodgson admits England are not winning
enough games under his management but is
sure his men will qualify for next summer’s
World Cup.
England face Brazil in Rio’s Maracana on
Sunday having drawn four and lost one of
their last eight games.
Asked if England were securing enough
victories, Hodgson said: “No we’re not.
“One of the areas where we’ve been, to say the
least, unfortunate, is in the choice of front
players and the availability of front players.”

transfer links. Yannick Sagbo and Brice Dja Djedje. Sagbo a big powerful Centre forward the Djedje an attacking fullback both scored for Evian against Bordeaux in the french cup final that NFL was at. Both are Ivory Coast internationals.
We now have Newcastle and Stoke added to the list of teams who are putting a bid in for big Vic.

Juan Roman Riquelme spotted in Greggs Crookston Road this morning….
Which strangely enough is right beside Ross Hall hospital….
Morning all
Awoke this morning to find my brother in law Andy had posted The Bowler and the Bunnet – a Sean Connery documentary from the mid 60s about the decline of the shipyards. Only first ten minutes though. The opening sequence shows the Celtic team having to fight its way from the pitch after winning the 1965 League Cup Final.
No further mention to this is made in the rest of the extract. Does anybody remember if the film returns to this charming reminder of the ecumenical qualities of the Great, Dignified club and its lovely followers?

Off oot ( Kev J ) to ticket office, catch up later.

I’m pretty sure this is the documentary and can I say after twenty years of stomach pains I took the antibiotics and have been pain free for twelve years now.
You blow in a bag – they test your breath – you’ll have it or not – if you have it you take a few pills for a few days and then it’s gone.

Go on read about MS drugs….now there’s a scam, expensive drugs which do nothing , if not make things worse for patients, some even die
If it doesn’t make money, it’s not worth investigating

Duffel coat at the ready..
thomthetim,
Auguri, well done!
Good morning everyone,
Over the past few weeks I have had a recurring debate with many Celtic fans, season ticket holders, CQNers, Celtic people in general.
The topic is “what to do when the latest version of the Deidco turn up at our door”, as they surely will at some point in the future.
My view is that I never want to see them debase Paradise ever again.
I certainly will not take up my seat at Celtic Park if they are allowed to play us there, save one proviso, namely
Celtic treat them like any other wee diddy second division mob, reduce prices accordingly and insist that no Celtic employee refers to the match as an Old Firm game. Also that Celtic refuse to acknowledge and/or accept the MSM frenzy that is sure to precede any fixture.
My reasoning is that,
A. They, the original Huns, are/ were a blight on our society and I have no wish see them return to any place close to me ever.
B. any tribute act would be only that but there fans would no doubt manifest themselves in the most vile, racist and sectarian extremes of the originals.
C. We, Celtic , should never be seen to accept any of the Servconian nonsense about being the same club, the history etc, etc and the only way of doing that is by treating them exactly as what they are, a new struggling, cash strapped second division outfit, that we view as an irrelevance to our Champions League participant, double winning, world renowned selves.
I have only spoken to one Celtic man who says he misses them.
I have spoken to hundreds who have no wish to witness them and their associated vileness ever again.
Motherwell, Jackie’s United, Aberdeen, that is our nearest competitors, even if Sevco survive they are not our competition.
How do we, CQN, Celtic supporters get this message across
We are enjoying our football. We have no desire to participate in the revisionism regarding the deid club and MOST importantly will not physically support any attempts to portray a match against a newco as that that finished minutes after Hoops smashed in the third.
Any attempt at otherwise should lead to many empty seats at Paradise.
Certainly if the ST holders I have spoken to are representative, then the stands will be empty.
