Efe Ambrose is quite rightly receiving praise for an impressive debut on Tuesday but these are still early days, our comrades from Fife didn’t present a great challenge. Berman Kayal also put in a sold shift and, for the record, I’ve been more impressed by him than the even more lauded Victor Wanyama, when both have been on top form, but I would not consider either for a start in Moscow.
With five days until we play Spartak it was more important we saw Joe Ledley, if only briefly. Joe will need 90 minutes on Saturday. Even if he gets this he might still be short of fitness for the Champions League. The most important result from Saturday will hopefully be Georgios Samaras coming through 90 minutes without incident.
Along with Scott Brown, Georgios is one of only two players with Champions League experience prior to this season. He was also absolutely critical in Celtic breezing through the qualifiers. Fir Park is a tight, agricultural, field compared to the expansive artificial surface of the Luzhniki, but it will be a good proving ground for anyone hoping to impress Neil Lennon with their fitness.

These huns like Naismith and Mccullough must have one of thae cloaks woven by elves (like in the Lord of the Rings) that they throw on so that referees cannae see their blatant elbowing. It’s the only plausible explanation.

If it is categorically confirmed that sally and greengo attended that walk, then we will know that they are ‘dredging the depths’ ……..

skanger:
The Skanger: these creatures numbers are growing at quite an alarming rate due to their frenetic breeding, they are most likely recognised by shabby reebok and or addidas gear or if their really moving up in the criminal world, nike. They can also be recognised by their unusual birdlike walk which usually involves them moving their head back and forth much akin to a pigeon on speed.

That video seems to be from lower Talbot Street close to Dublin’s north inner-city,an area ravaged by drug and alcohol abuse.

It is sad more than anything mate.
See the indigenous underclass these days are fair game for anything, worse than animals.
All these people are,are weak, easy prey and exploited by all.And more than anything, victims of circumstance.
Hopelessness.
There but for the grace of God go i.
Make no mistake about it – if that was a video showing two thugs pumped-up on steroids kicking an old dog about the head on a street – there would have been a public outcry.
Even that Scottish term NED – wtf is that all about? Non-educated delinquent? How can a person be NON-educated? That just doesn’t make sense to me,surely it should be uneducated.
Probably made up by some middle-class,liberal lefty.

Thanks for that. Interesting. The translation is fine but reading it reminded me of Steve McLaren`s interviews when he was with Twenty Enschende (SP) in Holland!

“Probably made up by some middle-class,liberal lefty.”
My recollection is that this phrase (“ned”) was already long in use when a female Scottish Labour politician of some sort coined “Non-Educated Delinquent” as an acronym to fit.
If so, you’ve pretty much hit the ail directly on the head!

Quiz question.
We were discussing at work earlier this evening a game between Hearts and Celtic at Tyncastle in 1999 that we attended.
Our keeper was taken off injured in the first half and replaced.
Who was the keeper? Who was the replacement?
Also being played that night was an FA Cup replay and it is now quite famous for what happened late on in the game. Any ideas?
