Tests for agricultural fields of Lanarkshire

750

Efe Ambrose is quite rightly receiving praise for an impressive debut on Tuesday but these are still early days, our comrades from Fife didn’t present a great challenge.  Berman Kayal also put in a sold shift and, for the record, I’ve been more impressed by him than the even more lauded Victor Wanyama, when both have been on top form, but I would not consider either for a start in Moscow.

With five days until we play Spartak it was more important we saw Joe Ledley, if only briefly.  Joe will need 90 minutes on Saturday.  Even if he gets this he might still be short of fitness for the Champions League.  The most important result from Saturday will hopefully be Georgios Samaras coming through 90 minutes without incident.

Along with Scott Brown, Georgios is one of only two players with Champions League experience prior to this season.  He was also absolutely critical in Celtic breezing through the qualifiers.  Fir Park is a tight, agricultural, field compared to the expansive artificial surface of the Luzhniki, but it will be a good proving ground for anyone hoping to impress Neil Lennon with their fitness.

    ** QUIZ NIGHT **

We will be holding a quiz night to raise money for wee Oscar Knox to enable him to receive much needed treatment. This will take place on the 29th September in The Phoenix (previously Eastenders) on Glasgow’s Gallowgate.

Tickets are priced at £5 and we’re looking for teams of 4/5. Don’t worry though if you don’t have the numbers to make up a team of your own, we’ll sort that for you.

    contact us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com

Enjoy it I hear he is a very interesting guy. Im trying to get picked up as well but the lioness is feart to drive in the city and the oldest cub is going out…

Will do, cheers. Mate told me it was Fri night, only found out yesterday it was sat night. If the times were similar I could have tried to see if she would swing by after she picks us up if your stuck…

  3. If we draw the new club just play the kids they should be good enough to win by 2 or 3, it will toughen them up instead of going out on loan to another diddy team for a season. Let them see how lucky they are not to be playing in a mudfield against part timers for a year.

Very interesting, didn’t know that or that the previous zombies were one of the founder members ?

Will be EVEN MORE INTERESTING if, as a result of their shocking, arrogant, complete disregard for SPORTING INTEGRITY, FINANACIAL CONTROL, and their willful TAX EVASION, DOUBLE CONTRACTS ETC ETC, they get expelled, since that would mean they could not play in Europe AT ALL, let alone 3 years……. If that happens, I will need a sedative

We can only hope that scenario pans out, if that happens it will be a lot of the alcoholic sedatives required to numb the pain of laughing too much…

  7. Just watching opening of Ryder Cup. A classy but not unexpected speech from Jose. What did surprise me was a very gracious, generous and sporting speech from Davis Love. Seemed almost un American.

    Let this great tournament begin!

Maybe that was what O.G. Rafferty was alluding to last night, if not whatever it is sure sounds like a laugh anyway.

Wish this golf would just get underway..

  10. jimmci-I fear that Love electing to do away with the rough, and make it a putting competition will take some of the drama out of the event.I could be wrong mate.I still fancy Europe BTW.

The last text I received from Dick Byrne was where he called me a turncoat barsteward so he will be there but there may be unpleasantries :-)

He’s never forgiven me for my denunciation of his punk/jazz concept album

I was in the car coming home and they were saying the speeches were coming up and by the time I settled into the house I missed José’s speech but heard Davis Love’s and I agree it was a very good speech and emphasised it was a sporting battle.

Can you summarise what José said, as they were saying he was crying just before he was mean’t to speak when one of the speakers before him commented on Seve.
