Tests for agricultural fields of Lanarkshire

750

Efe Ambrose is quite rightly receiving praise for an impressive debut on Tuesday but these are still early days, our comrades from Fife didn’t present a great challenge.  Berman Kayal also put in a sold shift and, for the record, I’ve been more impressed by him than the even more lauded Victor Wanyama, when both have been on top form, but I would not consider either for a start in Moscow.

With five days until we play Spartak it was more important we saw Joe Ledley, if only briefly.  Joe will need 90 minutes on Saturday.  Even if he gets this he might still be short of fitness for the Champions League.  The most important result from Saturday will hopefully be Georgios Samaras coming through 90 minutes without incident.

Along with Scott Brown, Georgios is one of only two players with Champions League experience prior to this season.  He was also absolutely critical in Celtic breezing through the qualifiers.  Fir Park is a tight, agricultural, field compared to the expansive artificial surface of the Luzhniki, but it will be a good proving ground for anyone hoping to impress Neil Lennon with their fitness.

  1. Good evening CQNers,

I’ve long suspected Philvis and the Singing Detective are one in the same and the post at 18.08 confirmed my suspicion, the deliberate ‘I’ in world was a lame attempt to have a dig at The Exiled Tim.

C’mon, Philvis, own up, there can’t be two home counties right wing Celtic imposters.

  2. Motherwell ST holder wants the Mullet sacked for not trying v Sevco,Dalziel and King stand foursquare behind their Brother.

  3. A good croissant is slightly chewy and has a great tear when ripped with visible layers. There’s plenty of butter in the layers and no extra slathering of the butter is necessary when eating it. A croissant should be rather small and compact and even feel slightly heavy.

    A Dullass moment.

  5. I am well pleased that the CQN University of Life has chosen to completely IGNORE the sick & racist Fascist Triumverate that is trying to evoke a response.

    God Bless You.

  6. Sixteen roads to Golgotha – Well, sort of.

Most of the time when people are crying about racism, it’s white people accusing other white people of being awful racists.

Most of the time it’s a status-seeking behaviour. A sort of horribly misdirected competitive altruism. (There are nasty racists out there of course, but most people are pretty decent and fair minded.)

The flip side of the same coin is their base grovelling fear of being accused of racism themselves, which is, I believe, why the authorities in Rochdale turned a blind eye to gangs of sexual predators grooming children as young as 10.

If the perpetrators had been white and/or Christian and their victims brown and/or Muslim, the authorities would have poured money and manpower into a highly public effort to jail every last sick, evil child abuser. And rightly so. There would already be movies being made about the heroic crimefighters busting the evil grooming ring. Medals would be handed out. Tearjerking TV specials would remind us all “never again”. David Cameron would be making speeches about it.

But because the predators were brown and Muslim and their victims were white and/or Christian, the authorities allowed it to happen. For years. They abandoned terrified little girls to the depredations of sick, evil men. Men who called their child victims “prostitutes” and plied them with drink and drugs.

And all because our authorities were terrified of being accused of being “racists” or “Islamophobes”.

And we must ask ourselves: in how many other parts of the country is the same thing happening right now? Rochdale isn’t unique.

If this annoys or upsets you, bear in mind that they are able to keep us all safe from dangerous white men like John Terry and their allegedly foul mouths. So it all balances out.

    (thumbsup)

  7. Ah…..ah’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Just ask Randle P. McMurphy or the SD.

They don’t want to be in that nasty old Champions League. That’s old hat.

The Ramsdens Cup – I mean the Scottish Communities League Cup is where it’s at.

By the way, does this mean Sevco are officially giant killers? (thumbsup)

You can’t refer to Sevco as giant killers – their tender supporters are likely to complain that this is a slur on the club and implies they have committed murder.

What with Daleks, Zombies, Mad Men and Fat Sally references – it clear everyone is kicking them while they are down.

  17. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

Changing the subject a tad, I note that the economic downturn isn’t as bad as first thought now that the figures have been revised for a fall of 0.7% to 0.4%.

    Trebles all round,then,eh?

However, all day I’ve heard the experts telling us that we had an extra Bank Holiday that quarter-in which of course, they are correct. It was for he Queen’s Jubilee.

Point is-did we not have one in the same quarter last year too,for The Royal Wedding?

Little wonder I rarely believe a word from official sources nowadays.
