It was curious that Peter Lawwell was quizzed on potentially having a conflict of interest in deciding if a recent multiple-convict would be regarded by the SFA as Fit and Proper to direct a football club. The club in question are not even in our league; conflict exists only in the heads of those who persist in believing in a ‘Firm which expired on the liquidation of one party.
I’ve avoided the appropriateness of a recent convict directing a football club as the deciding matters appear overwhelmingly obvious. There are no written rules on being Fit and Proper, largely due to the Mahatma Gandhi question posed by Neil Doncaster last year. Gandhi was a convict, but one of impeccable character. The contemporaneous character references are all important. The SFA will also be chastened by recent experiences.
My guess is that in the unlikely event the Nomads acquiesce, Peter Lawwell’s views will be immaterial. “Nobody likes us, we don’t care” has nothing to do with it, just find someone Fit and Proper!
Delighted that Aberdeen’s quest for silverware survived Fir Park last night. This club have underachieved for around 20 years now but Derek McInnes stands a reasonable chance of delivering second place in the league, as well as the League Cup.
Not so delighted at Hibs capitulation. Despite playing like Brazil in the 1970 World Cup for the first 15 minutes of their home tie against Hearts last night they were soon out-muscled, with more than a few players looking miles out of their depth. There is no compensation for Scottish football in Hearts progressing to the semi-finals. They are mid-crisis and will remain so, irrespective of how they perform in cup competitions, but the absence of Hibernian from the genuine challengers is a regret.
Morton went down to a late St Johnstone goal. They have now lost five and drawn one of their six games since winning at Celtic Park, their only victory since August…..
With this in mind, I’ll refrain from referring to the potential advantage of having a Cup Final at ‘home’ until we have earned the right to be there.
Dreadful news of Fernando Ricksen. I hope he finds strength from those close to him in the years ahead.
The new CQN Annual is looking great, really delighted with it. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the project. You can pre-order below:

….going home soon??
Robinbhoy..,
It depends if you consider all personal abuse and accusations unacceptable or only those directed at people you sympathise with, there far more sinister attacks going on than simply name calling.
…uk time clock fu’d .. Now it’s nearly midnight for ko on Wednesday.
Morning,
I see a delegation from Celtic headed by Lawwell is in China for a few days promoting the Celtic brand.
Waste of time, everyone knows Chuck cracked that market for Sevco and has pure hunner of millions of fans over there.
Desertbhoy..,
Tried like a terrier to get away for the AGM but apparently the job is going to get very busy, here’s the bit, I’ve planned the job, looked at progress and told them the jobs no going to get busy till Christmas but they’ve decided to put on a show of failure, so It will be Christmas before I’m back :o) just as the job takes off, hell mend them.

Re your question last night
The original detention was in terms of Terrorism Act s41.., this affords an initial detention period of 48 hrs ….a further 72 hrs can be applied for …ie detention for 5 days
In this care that is what happened ….those detained were thereafter charged …appeared in court the next day
They appeared on a petition the next day .( formal criminal charges brought by PF.)..which affords a further period of detention of a maximum of eight days if sought ….case being continued for further examination …bail can be applied for at this stage …but in cases such as this will rarely be granted
All accused will be up in court next week …where they will be fully committed and either remanded in custody or bailed
Desertbhoy,
Aye its a bit of a grind but to be honest I don’t mind being late for work honestly I’m ok with it and I don’t care if anyone has a problem with it, what are they going to do ? sack me and send me home :oD)))))) please, and they cant seem to fathom that mentality or the idea that they hold no means of control to force me to conform to half assed engineering practices, i’m getting better offers from London and they know it, but the thrawn bit in me is sticking it out to make them do the job properly against their will :o) and they hate me for it.
Top of the morning to you all from a bright and breezy Fife.
Celtic blogs and this one in particular are the future.
Where else would you see an honest appraisal of the relationship between Celtic and the new club?
The mainstream Scottish media with a few journalistic exceptions is singing from the hymnsheets provided by PR agencies.
While the debate on here is interesting and the craic entertaining we must guard against those wreckers who would put us off our surfing.
How Paul67 does this is a problem I wouldn’t like to have.

…pf…,
Is there anything unusual in your opinion about this case and the conduct of the authorities ?
Are you suspicious of what is happening ?
Morning, fresh and Autumnal in the Chilterns…
Interesting we have a heading with Mahatma Ghandi on All Saints day.
The High Soul one is certainly a great inspiration, as many of our favourite saints are.
No matter what Religion ~ humanity is certainly enhanced by The Saints, High Souled ones, Bodhisattvas…
Have an inspired day.

Not really …the special branch guys love a day out all kitted up in their body armour , machine guns etc ….that explains their show
This case is very high profile ….one can only assume they wouldn’t have gone off half cock
…pf..,
Or maybe politicians social engineering needs to keep the division and a wee bitty embarrassment at a later date might be worth it, no doubt we’ll find out the truth in 20 or so years, Can you tell I really really don’t trust the authorities :o)

Speaking of whom,Bestaluck on yer new venture, pal!
Oh and i read the remark about the bowling baws.
Is a fine game, i honestly haven’t met a bad soul through bowling, well apart from four clowns in New Cumnock, who accused my rink…..(All Tims) of theft, cheek and being drunk. Official letter to the ABA, now we were exonerated as expected. Although i thought that Ayrshire cup ties were all about the drink and friendship.

Perhaps this does not belong in the Bears den and if so feel free to move to correct section.I work for a well known company(a bank) and today we were encouraged to dress up for Halloween and raise money for charity. So far so good.A lot of people today participated and a fair few of them were bitter tims dressed as zombies wearing Rangers football tops.I personally think this is pathetic and I would never dream of wearing the bheasts gear.Normaly there is a no football shirt code at work(except Scotland tops) but for some reason this was allowed.I am no prude and can have a laugh but I doubt if it was the other way round like wearing a Jimmy Saville get up with a Celtic top the individuals would get in to trouble/told to remove costume. The zombie reference also alludes to Rangers fans being sub human, not normal, stupid ect.Touching on a post by Dart about bias against us it seems things like this is the norm and Rangers bashing is fair game now.As I say this is pretty sad behaviour but I can’t believe this is allowed in the workplace.
