Tilio is a player: the evidence mounts

215

Marco Tilio scored a spectacular equaliser which secured a draw for Melbourne City away to Sydney this morning.  His first touch, change of pace, drop of the shoulder and finish from 18 yards were all exceptional.

It took 61 minutes for A-League viewers to see this from Marco, which is more than twice as much gametime he was allowed at Celtic before being shipped out on loan.

Since joining St Mirren on loan last month, Hyeokkyu Kwon has been a revelation at the heart of a Scottish Premiership midfield.  Marco’s 27 minutes for Celtic were 27 more than Kwon got before being shipped out.

Both players are Celtic players because they are genuine talents.  The reputation we are earning by not giving them opportunities will only do us damage.

Well, those that say the huns are shite may be correct but perhaps they are less shite than we are. They are certainly more direct and that’s no bad thing.

  2. I reckon BR’s time is up.

There’s been a nuanced shift in paul67’s reporting-

    towards outcome based commentary-

use of the word ‘debacle’ in a headline about the killie draw/cudda been a loss

today a focus on – look how well those players are doing elsewhere.

This is leadership saying ‘we provided you with the resources and how has that worked out’.

100%. We draw with them at ipox and beat them at Celtic Park and win all our other matches and we win the league. We should be well capable of that if we can get our act together quickly.

I think we’ll probably take 4 points from them but don’t trust us to get maximum points against the others.

I think with CCV back we will be a lot more secure at the back. Hopefully his calmness and assuredness will permeate throughout the rest of the time.

Tinkering with the midfield. Playing wingers with no pace, leaving Kyogo anonymous and playing with a second string back 4 and signing quantity instead of quality. Add in arrogance as well.

Celtic will not sack a title winning manager.

If Brendan Rogers is not the Celtic manager next season it will be because we didn’t win the league.

A Pyrrhic victory if ever there was one for those who want to see the back of him.

  8. Clement is proving himself to be a capable manager and TRFC have put together a good run. We play them twice so it is still in our hands.

I’m not particularly keen on Rodgers but I’d rather win the league and keep him than lose the league and he leaves in the summer.

It would be crazy to think any other way

  10. Paul67 was never impressed with Brendan’s return – the hostility is not concealed. His blog, his prerogative. We need the leaders among the players to stand up.

2-0 Huns. We go to a tricky tie tomorrow five points behind

How did it come to this?

  12. Been on about Newco shooting from outside the 18yard box every chance they get for ages on here , No trying to walk it into the net from them . Shoot then 2 or 3 pile in for any rebound and it’s been successful so far . Whatever is causing our strife I wish to god it could be buried and let us push on , we have the players to do it if they bin the cautious attitude and get stuck in . The report today is the Victorian lavvy is bursting at the seams , 100% behind them . We have been let down by our board , nothing we can do about it now .so let’s get behind our team and gee them up this league is still in our own hands . HH

Geebee, i get the feeling there are some (including our host) that think losing the league is a price worth paying to get rid of him.

  14. Ref Paul67’s article – a superb Marco moment in Australia & good form by Kwon for St Mirren does not say anything about their suitability to play for Celtic. It was up to them to force selection through performance in training & then out on the pitch. Neither managed that so far.

  15. Would be betting my house on England at 7 or 8/5 to beat Scotland.

As for Ireland, a really great team but they do get the run of it with officials in the 6 nations.

Weird as they seem to bottle it on the big stage at the WC.

  16. A true measure of any team and support is best seen in adversity..

We know all our failings, but tomorrow I’m sure our away support will back the team to the hilt.

On Wednesday we need a full house with a positive attitude.

If you can go on Wednesday then please go.

    HH.

  17. Looking at the Newco score so far , did anyone really expect a challenge from the diets , they are safely in third place , nothing to stress about ,it’s points that will win us the league . Still like hatate back for us .

  18. Wow, I challenge so called conspiracy theories, but Paul 67 letting the league go to get rid of BR is a theory way tooooooo far, even for me.

  19. Win our next 2 and we will be top of the league.

Crazy prediction but that lot are at Kilmarnock on Wednesday and they really won’t fancy it.

3 goal win today and 4 on Wednesday and we are fine lol 😂

Diets were honestly right back in it for 5 minutes almost solid possession and that lot got the break of the ball and were clinical with a break away.

Hesrts chucked it after that. They have a fragility. Kilmarnock will exploit it. We just need to win our next 2.

  22. Greenpinata

    Agree 100%.

A good win tomorrow and we will see how they wear the mantle of leaders at Kilmarnock.

  23. If I were Paul 67 , I would say :-

I am responsible for what I say , I am not responsible for what you understand.

  24. GOAL St Mirren 3-0 St Johnstone

    Kwon Hyeok-kyu

Terrific work from Kwon wraps this one up for St Mirren.

The South Korean loanee nicks the ball from Tony Gallacher, before advancing forward before slotting past Dimitar Mitov.
