It took 61 minutes for A-League viewers to see this from Marco, which is more than twice as much gametime he was allowed at Celtic before being shipped out on loan.
Since joining St Mirren on loan last month, Hyeokkyu Kwon has been a revelation at the heart of a Scottish Premiership midfield. Marco’s 27 minutes for Celtic were 27 more than Kwon got before being shipped out.
Both players are Celtic players because they are genuine talents. The reputation we are earning by not giving them opportunities will only do us damage.

From my vantage point in the North Stand , caught a cameo role for young Mark , and first impressions was that he was just too small ( given his pace) to make an impact in the Scottish game.
thought the exact same when he came on from my vantage point , I actually thought it was the mascot coming on , smaller than karaoke dembele the next superstar and look what happened to him.

We bought development players during the summer transfer window and we are developing them.
As is Brendan’s way, each player will have a personal development plan.
Kwon certainly looks like he’s developing as a player as he makes the most of his loan to St Mirren.
Likewise Marco Tilio – I saw the goal he scored for Melbourne City, the Aussies are going to be very impressed by the progress the wee man has made in Scotland especially as most of that time he was injured.
So not at all sure what more Celtic could be doing for them, if they are not appreciating the first class career development plan that they are obviously following, then maybe there’s another elite Club calling out for their genuine talent

Players develop when (and if) they are challenged. This means first team football with the ‘big lads’. It’s an unforgiving environment. Celtic’s recruitment strategy must give players serious game time otherwise there’s no point in signing the player. The recruitment strategy must work on grass as well as on paper or we may well find that league titles are ‘unavailable’. Much to be done.

Yeah – very strange. We put Ajer and Christie out on loan to get them ready for the first team and that worked out fine. They got the game-time they wouldn’t have got at Celtic and came back first-team ready. Tilio and Kwon could do the same (or they might not).
The issue of course is that we needed to add 2-3 players that were ALREADY at that level to improve the team and then another 2-3 to replace the ones we lost.
