Tilio is a player: the evidence mounts

215

Marco Tilio scored a spectacular equaliser which secured a draw for Melbourne City away to Sydney this morning.  His first touch, change of pace, drop of the shoulder and finish from 18 yards were all exceptional.

It took 61 minutes for A-League viewers to see this from Marco, which is more than twice as much gametime he was allowed at Celtic before being shipped out on loan.

Since joining St Mirren on loan last month, Hyeokkyu Kwon has been a revelation at the heart of a Scottish Premiership midfield.  Marco’s 27 minutes for Celtic were 27 more than Kwon got before being shipped out.

Both players are Celtic players because they are genuine talents.  The reputation we are earning by not giving them opportunities will only do us damage.

  1. Guys,

The bottom line is dont look for racism where there is none

Racism is a cancer in society, lets not devalue the concept.

Perhaps they were right all along.

    Who’d a thought it?

Or, are we going to be too busy writing poison pen articles on the manager?

Tune in for the next episode

  3. When I was in high school during what was truly the years in the wilderness and not from October 19, 1957, until April 24, 1965, but 4 years earlier from April 21, 1961, until Big Billy’s bumper final we had a teacher who never missed our games home and away.

One day he was asked by the class who in his honest opinion was the worse player at Parkheid, his response was Charlie Gallagher, wonder how he felt standing in hampden that wonderful sunny day or at Parkheid that dark dreich night on March 8, 2 years later.

Mibbees Charlie found his level playing for a manager who knew how tae use him, btw Charlie played at inside right in the hampden game with Stevie on the right wing against Novi Sad he was inside left.

  4. In a long race, it’s always great to see a runner accelerate on the outside and sweep past the leader just before the finishing line. That’s what I’m hoping for.

The team who with silky football demolished Aberdeen 6-0 These players are available to us . Whatever has happened . Yes we badly needed a few quality players to continue to improve the side . As we all know it didn’t happen ,poor poor stuff . I have a wee feeling Brendan has chucked it , I was pleased to see him coming back but we don’t have the Brendan we had before . His press conferences are all the same he doesn’t seem to me anyway to have any enthusiasm for the job , biding his time to move on . I may be talking nonsense but that’s how I see t ,and it’s bound to affect the dressing room

    good result for scotland.

especially after england beat them the last time in the Culloden Stadium.

though to be fair england had to overcome a difficult away game in Waterloo in between where a few of their top men got injured.

  7. What a game of egg chasing. The pub rammed to the rafters with a great atmosphere.

I love beating England, I love beating the huns. I plead guilty.

  8. Our preformances have been shambolic all season and I have no faith the manager has a clue. I expect we will draw tomorrow and that as they say will be that. FoLk talking about showing faith is bullocks. I have shown more than faìth I have actually give hard earned money. We support a club that prefers profit over preformance and will happy play large some of tax over spending money in the squad.

  9. onenightinlisbon on

    “keeping the faith”…….

We will play exactly the same way tomorrow.

The result will be exactly the same.

… Paul rarely posts an article on a Saturday but rushes out today (by coincidence after Philmacgholliabain has blogged against the executive) to tell us

    1) Tilio scored a goal in Australia and ;

    2) Kwon is doing well at St Mirren.

    Big deal…

    ____

😂😂It’s quite ridiculous. As I was reading, I thought it was a little preamble before the main event but no. Unbelievable.

  11. For those out there..

Could you please say a prayer for my wee brother who is fighting the biggest fight of his life in the Edinburgh royal infirmary..

He’s only 60 and a bigger Celtic man than I’ll ever be..

    I love you Mick..💚

    Thanks in advance..☘☘🙏

  12. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Great news on Tilio – sounds like a £20m player when we come to sell him. And of course we will be able to replace him with a £1m player who is even better!

I’ll have to take your word on Kwon as I must confess to not watching St Mirren as extensively as you obviously do.

Big win for the league leaders today. Quite incredible really considering how badly handicapped they are with all those mid-career journeymen holding them back!

Now that Abada’s been run out of town who’s next?

Just as well O’Reilly is Danish, CCV is American and Joe Hart had intimated his retirement lest elements of our support take it upon themselves to decide which race, religion, nationality of player can pull on a Celtic shirt.

Do we have other English players?

    Hi Ghuys, Salve salve-;

well the portents not looking so bright this weather, looking at wee Marco’s goal it is easy to see that he has pace and skill but he would never be given that amount of space in your average SPL game so does he have durability and a football brain ?

Yesterday I watched a YOU Tube of Maradonna , I saw him playing in absolute tattie fields but he could still play and show unbelievable levels of skill and every time he had the ball he went forwards. Now if wee Marco was in this Celtic team he would be nobbled right away as he would always receive the ball late and two yards behind him. I do not believe that all nine or ten players signed are not good enough to play in this present team I do however believe that the entire coaching staff are miserably poor and should be chased come the end of the season along with the Chairman, the CEO and any and all family members positioned in the football department.

Finally to our man in Sandy lane if you cannot be bothered to turn up at the AGM, please do not meddle in managerial or any other appointments within the football department.

Great result and performance from Scotland, against admittedly an error prone England.

The Hun have posted a statement win, like we’ve asked for most of the season; I have graves concerns over this league title now, I must say.

Yeah, still a chance at Celtic for Kwon, Tilio on the otherhand looks unlikely of success settling from another continent and more likely his loan back will become permanent.

CCV and AJ both training, but with a midweek game, reckon tomorrow will be too soon to risk both of them. The sooner CCV takes over from Stephen Welsh the better it’s a closer choice between Tony Ralston or AJ.

For the first time this season ignoring what BR is likely to decide, I’d prefer Kyogo to start in his normal position with striker Adam Idah on the bench with Oh. Midfield must be at a three allowing O’Riley Calum and Bernardo on from the start. The insistence on two wide men even with wing backs means picking at least two no form players.

    I think he’ll go,

  19. Whilst going through the archives for any discussion about a Resolution by the CST in 2013 about improving communications with The Board by meetings with them to further such a laudable aim, which I totally supported, I came across this post

https://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/celtic-forum/comment-page-5/#comment-2088968 that made me smile. It is dated 19 Feb 2014.

It just as easily have been posted last week.

Any idea when the subject I am looking for might have got an airing?

  20. Greenpinata

I was at Murrayfield in 2010 when we drew 13-13. And I really thought we would never have a better chance to beat them in my life. At that point we hadn’t won in about 10 years.

My daughter was at Twickenham in 2017 when we shipped 60 points and it seemed I might be true. Weirdly my sons generation of players seemed to be the best of an era and so it worked out. A lot of his former team mates have come good. Winning 5 and losing only 1 of the last 7 is incredible.

I have been at most of them and it is so good to win as we really have no right to do so given the relative resources.

Many of these lads are also really good lads. Zander and Jamie and Finn and Grant and George H and George T and Huw and Blair. Of course Van Der Merwe was special today again but it is amazing to get 1 win every 10 years against them. To get 4 in a row is insane. Enjoy your celebration. I will for sure.

doesnt seem to have been many problems for the 60000 fans getting there

only time we have imaginative kick off times is for cup games

  26. Greenwells Glory on

Hi Ghuys, Save salve;- And another thing, as long as we are playing in this environment it is a pointless exercise to have a youth system because there is nowhere for the to develop. All that is happening is our young players are being brought up in a kick and rush environment and skills are simply not being developed.

If there is any chance for young players to progress their game then it would involve Celtic youth teams playing in the English leagues. Otherwise our latest investment in Barrowfield is wasted money.

    Greenwells.

Adde parvum parvo magnus acervus erit.

  27. How desperate is Paul 67?

A player who has zero pedigree outside of Australia scores a goal in the A league, comparable to the Scottish Championship and its used by someone with zero football experience to attack our current manager in the midst of trying to win a league. The new Daniel Arzani, (played in a world Cup 😲 ) can’t even keep his weight in check, clearly overweight yet portrayed as our missed saviour.

The arrogance from these people who think being decent in the A league transfers to being a hit in Scotland when the pace and physicality are world’s apart is staggering. Yet Paul 67 and the Lawwell family think they are right and our manager is wrong. Remember these guys are deemed worse than the other new signings who are far from the level required. This is before the obvious struggles of being able to adapt in a new football environment that BR clearly stated. Tilio is fat, yet we’re lectured to think this is the standard of a Celtic player. Just go now Peter and Mark.
