Is that the time?  Many thanks to everyone who submitted questions for the Club to answer at the Forum this evening.  CQN submitted six pages of questions along with many other groups, from which an agenda has been prepared (below):

Stadium Atmosphere and Matchday Policy:

What is the current position in respect of the Green Brigade?

Do the Club believe their response to Motherwell was justified and proportionate?

Stewarding at home matches is heavy handed in certain sections of the Stadium e.g. Block 122 and Blocks 110, 111 & 112, is there a reason for this?

The presence of FoCUS at home matches is intimidating and antagonises supporters, is it necessary to have them and if so can they be located in an area which is less intrusive?

Can the Club introduce a code of conduct which all Stewards need to sign up to?

Attending matches is expensive, what are the Club’s plans on ticket pricing?

Safe Standing has been regularly discussed, what is the current position?

The Coach Park has been relocated to an area which is unsuitable for the majority of fans who use it, what is the longer term plan?

The Kerrydale Bar has been a welcome addition to matchday are there plans for another?

What are the Club’s thoughts on the current location of the Family Section?

Stadium Catering has long since been considered over-priced and sub-standard, what is the current position in terms of offering an improved service?

Many fans feel their support is taken for granted, would the Club consider adding value by recognising long-term support for 5, 10, 15 years’ Season Ticket purchase by offering upgrades to Premium or Corporate for a day?

With so many empty seats on match day at present can the Club not allocate these to good causes, school and youth groups and community projects?

PR & Communication:

There is a perception that the Club are quick to criticise our fans but slow to praise them, what’s the Club’s view?

Why is the Club not more vocal when our Manager, Players and Fans are attacked in the media?

The Club is seen to be slow to react to key issues through the media, why is this?

The Club has stated its opposition to the OBTC Act but there is a sense that it has to do more in support of the fans who are affected by this, will the Club take a more vocal position?

Is this meeting a recognition from the Club that a gap exists between the Club and the fans?

The Club are often considered to be on the back foot in terms of PR, is there recognition of this from within and is there a plan to drive the PR strategy by producing more positive stories?

Would the Club consider the introduction of a weekly phone-in show to combat existing shows which often provide misinformation or unrealistic comparisons from unqualified sources?

Supporter Specific Issues:

Given the level of demand which exists, would the Club consider adding to to the excellent new disabled supporters’ facility or creating something similar in another part of the stadium?

Fixture re-scheduling at short notice is costing supporters money and ultimately driving fans away, can the Club seek an agreement with all other Clubs that a minimum notice period is put in place?

Would the Club consider a floating credits scheme for fans outside Scotland to mitigate losses when matches are rescheduled?

Murrayfield – what is the plan relative to transportation and kick-off times, also Edinburgh cannot be accessed in a 24-hr trip by Irish supporters, can this be reflected in their Season Ticket offering?

At present away, neutral and European match ticket allocations are based on attendance of matches at each of the defined categories.  Would the Club consider a scheme where all matches are taken into account including attendance at home matches as this would encourage more fans to attend home games?

For European match ticket allocation there is no stated policy at present, this leads to confusion as fans don’t always know when they will receive an offer or if it’s first come first served, this needs to be made clear by way of a stated policy which allows for clarity and gives supporters a defined process.

You could be right I’m just pretty sure they were Royston based and the name came from the large number of Irish immigrants in the area.

  3. HT,

    Pretty unfair from you earlier.

Asking oor Ernesto for an ungoogable answer. :)

  4. Arsenal 9/2 with WH, overpriced, a small financial interest

will do for me……if my life depended on it I would be with

Bayern Munich, but I’m a mug punter.

  6. Honestly, the questions that where asked where all pertinent, but noooooooo, noooooooooo, all the usual suspects not happy, and of course the other predictable questions, aweeee when are you Gonny get the answers, why did you no ask this, why didn’t you phrase that question more, honestly, I have, NEVER NEVER,in my life heard so many moaning faced people in all my life, bottom line no matter what Celtic, NL, pl, or the board do, funny how all the CST meetings go so well eh? Away an dry yer eyes, painful honestly it’s painful.

You are right The Shamrock came from the Garngad which was later known as Roystonhill/Royston the area supported a large immigrant Irish population who flocked to the area to work In the nearby St Rollox Chemical works which was situated roughly in the same area where the sighthill flats now sit. A legacy of the chemical works can still be smelled today when the trains exit from the queen street tunnel and you sniff the hydrogen sulfide wich was buried to a great depth in the area many years ago

  9. A Ceiler Gonof Rust Dancing in the Moonlight with Annabel Goldie on

mickbhoy1888, Hydrogen Sulphide. Nasty dangerous stuff and a major hazard in the O&G industry, you don’t want to go sniffin too much of that. It’s a gas so that’s not what they buried, must have been something that giving it off.

    Either way steer well clear.

  10. if celtic hold public forums to gather supporters views and to act on those, then we should all be happy. inho, we will be in Scottish football for the long haul and as such our club should be working hard to entice supporters to the ground. bridging the widening gap is a must, if these forums help to bridge the gap then great.

as an aside, I am not interested in being told what celtic don’t have and excuses about not being able to grow or challenge. we support a global club with a massive fan base situated in a major city, in the new sporting hub of Scotland. everything is in place to propel celtic as a club and business.

we don’t get the domestic t.v. riches of clubs in bigger leagues, I grant you. we do get access to C/L income more often than not.

celtic should focus on diversifying and growing celtic i.e. look at the success of the kerrydale bar, look at the success of the elevated disabled area can these be replicated?

    can celtic:

get the purpose built superstore, museum with café/ bar up and running?

get celtic park to become a must visit for football supporters the world over?

build a supporter barn, restaurant(s)/ bar(s), hotel (celtic park and lennoxtown)?

if celtic can grow will that place celtic in a better position to take advantage of any future opportunities that may arise i.e. euro league/ British league?

lots of questions, Celtic’s ambition will see the club grow or will see it demise, I hope to ghod the ongoing progress in and around the stadium is a sign of ambition and NFL is given an opportunity to build a team over a three year period

  11. Monteblanco,

I accept your acknowledgement that I was right & you were wrong.

I asked you to back up your claim that 100 people had 1/3rd of the world’s wealth: you have failed to do so. You merely recycle another claim that wealth-distribution is even more unequal than you alleged (pity you didn’t have that quote to hand when you began, eh?) Oxfam is a campaigning body which does good work in feeding the hungry but is careless in the claims it makes: in this it is similar to but much worse than SCIAF. One false claim – quoted in the article – is that “the fight against poverty can’t be won without tackling inequality”. I’m all in favour of tackling inequality, but if the person responsible for the quote “got out more”, he/she would see that the fight against poverty IS being won – not of course in Cuba, but in lands which have cast off the ideological burden which still holds that island back.

You haven’t acknowledged that you were wrong about the absence of anti-free market parties, but I shouldn’t hope for too much.

  12. Watching the teams line up for zadok the priest had a lightbulb moment didn’t our Catalan friends have a banner in the stand about an independence vote of course it’s only political if the gb do it .marty Feldman misses Penalty ,took his eye off the ball

  13. Good evening friends

Arsenal 7/2, MIlan 13/5 and Notts Forest 7/4. 25p Trixie. No goals anywhere yet.

  14. Marrakesh Express on

In my opinion Neuer is perhaps the only Bayern player who’d get into a current world XI. Arguably no room for Schweinsteiger and Lahm.

  16. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Folks I’ve just finished compiling Friday night’s quiz questions. Some are easy, some difficult and some laughs too. All are very welcome to participate at 9pm.

  17. Jobo Baldie

With a free bet I’ve taken Bayern and Athletico and two Turkish division 1 games from earlier in a lucky 15. Not much rationale just fancied them, just hoping for Arsenal V Bayern to continue at this pace. Good luck;-)

There is some great value in tomorrows Europa League games;-)

  18. Invercelt

Thank you for the gracious acceptance of my apology. Of Course Oxfam are no economists. Just like my self. I / they should know better than to question the expert forces of capitalism which trade there way to success everywhere they go.

Can you provide the real figures please. I am too stupid.

Explain how, in the UK (this great bastion of free trade and wealth distribution) Food banks are just a passing fad. Asylum seekers, refugees, fundamentalists all happy with their countries opening the doors to the philanthropic capitalists from the global companies all setting up those countries to become equals and spreading the wealth. So happy in fact they are all clambering to get here.

Show me the successes in Nigeria, in India, in Kenya for example, all free market economies, all rich in natural resources, all prime players who should have no problem proving ‘that the fight against poverty IS being won’ through free trading.

Like your good self, I shouldn’t hope for too much.

  19. Valentines day

My daughter is a nursery teacher and I can assure you that the SNP are doing great by providing nursery places for our weans with the best of standards which compares favourably with any other country in Europe.

Of course this does not fit in with your prejudices on the SNP
