Time for expensive signings, the 1254125 10k

1606

Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission.  A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances.  Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic.  They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.

As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game.  We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team.  Both should start against Motherwell.

For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125.  I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.

Many thanks for your support.

  1. Murderwell lucky to escape cricket score. Our centre backs look right on the money. Playing against Barca gives them great learning experience.

Apart from Adams Injury a great day at the office well done NFL and his bhoys.

Top of the table sounds nice VVD just has that look about him and although I only saw a little of Nir Biton I love his positioal awareness of and use of space around him the bhoy could be a gem.

    Armageddon is it :))

Ohhh and as much as I dont like the St Mirren chairman get it right roon yees diethuns :))

  9. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well done the hoops a good days work and back at the top where we belong.I think the back four looks first class and the Great wall behind them make a formidable defence. Good to see our new signings getting a run out only negative Mathews injury I hope nothing is broken. H.H.

  10. Played good football today and when Forster required pulled off a great save.

Fat Sally ditches his game at home to Dunfermline and they go out and get beat 4-0 away to Forfar.

    ****ing lol!

  11. Very decent perormances all over the park today with a few standouts.

    No CL hangovers this season.

Everybody looks like they are enjoying their football.

Hope Adam is OK. Luckily its the international break, so he will have time to recover.

Motherwell hard in the tackle as usual.

Brines hopelss, strange decisions for and against us, mainly against.

Unbeaten in the league after 8 games and back to the top.

As someone said earlier : beer time!

    ;o)

  12. Great performance by quite a few today.

Only bad thing was the fact that Teemu looked a little lost at times although some of his play is very intelligent but he will be judged on goals as are all strikers.

I hope the more he plays the more he will understand his fellow players and develop into a real threat for the opposition.

My MOTM, big Virgil who oozed confidence throughout.

A few more were close to him though and a very solid performance.

Whenever we play mullets mob I worry that little bit extra about one of our bhoys getting hurt in a tackle,

Them being allowed to foul with impunity by our MIBs in these game over the last few years has only increased my fear.

How many (tackles) will say Lasley get away with as usual before he is even spoken to?.

    just a worriercsc

    Good night all

Ps who is the MIB tomorrow?

  14. Kojo

I think we may have found a ref diamond in Amido.

Putting on my tin hat to say he reminds me of a very young Drogba.

Can’t say why but he does have fleeting moments of great skill

  21. Craigellachie10 on

Brines is simply incompetent, he doesn’t have the ability to be biased. I have said many times though that as long as Scottish refereeing is based on protecting the hammer throwers we will never be a force in the European or world stage.

  22. Just back from the game.

Very comfortable and composed Celtic but, despite the Lasley tackle, I felt Motherwell were less aggressive than usual and were made to look quite toothless.

Commons won MOTM for a great goal mostly but I thought VVD was magnificent today. I am not one to go overboard about a player, but I think we have a better player than we appreciate here.

I hope Scott Brown’s mother got to watch her sun have a good game and win the forgiveness of the Celtic support, without some hothead picking a fight.

14 days without a Celtic match. What will we do?

    Get well soon Adam

Enjoyed the game today…..I hope I’m wrong, but wondering now if young Foster is going to make it ………murderwell were wellmurder……and Brines…

Was disgusted by the fact that only 1 or 2, and I mean 1or 2, murderwell supporters applauded Adam Mathews as he passed their section in the stretcher ……. No wonder I haven’t gone near an away game for 25 years…..

Just hame fae the game. Efe and Virgil immense again. Amido will be dynamite, given time.
