Time for expensive signings, the 1254125 10k

1606

Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission.  A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances.  Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic.  They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.

As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game.  We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team.  Both should start against Motherwell.

For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125.  I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.

Many thanks for your support.

Petition signed and it was good meeting you today in Govan. HH

You’d look better if you lost the blue rinse though ;)

  2. A comfortable victory today.

But that’s only half the story.

    We witnessed something special today.

Arguably the best footballing performance i have seen

    by a centre half.

    Virgil has it all.

    Doc,

I do like those runs, it mixes it up nicely, creates all sorts of confusion and holes in the opposing defence – hope we see more of it, especially against packed defences

  4. Paddybhoy 1888,

If that Jimmy Ferry is son of Michael Collins’ man Joe Ferry, then I join you in wishing him a very happy birthday.

    One of nature’s gentlemen.

I remember his dad( & his mammy ) with great affection.

Hope he has a great night.

  5. Well done Bhoys today. Not seen any goals yet but will catch them on Sky the morra.

That new kid at Man Utd looks like a good plAyer.

Gonna watch Kevin Bridges from last night.

  6. Doc

Agreed. I noticed how quickly Charlie stepped back to cover. It does give us another attacking threat, which the opposition struggle to defend against.

As MurdochauldandHay said earlier, I sense a special goal coming soon from Virgil.

I’m absolutely amazed by the job Neil has done this season. The board ripped the spine of his team out yet he has qualified for the champions league and we are top of the SPFL. I hope we get the break of the ball in Europe and can strengthen in January, notably a left back and a penalty box striker. VVD really looks the part, Pukki needs time, but could play the number 10, however having watched big Nir against Morton and 15 minutes today I believe we have another good un, give this Bhoy a run of games and by the new year he’ll be a stand-out.

Hrvatski Jim, VVD is no Big George, he’s good but not that good.

I hope in January we bring in at least a couple of new signings to improve the current squad.I think if Virgil continues to improve at the rate he is improving he could go on and play for any of the biggest clubs in the world I rate him even higher than big Victor. At the moment we have some very fine players at Parkhead and they are all young and can continue to improve.H.H.

    Hail Hail

  10. Doc.

Thought the same as yourself …I like the way our cb’s have the skill and confidence to go forward, it’s what the game is about and Charlie covers well.

Good luck tomorrow and to everyone making the run for good causes.

Not sure how to make donations, so I’ll pop up the next home game and see you if it’s not too late. HH

Just asking because St Mirren and the highland clubs restrict us to 2500 even with their stadium half empty.

  13. Although Virgil’s performance has tended to

    overshadow everything today.

Both our goals were of high quality.

  20. I did not get a good view of Lasley’s ‘tackle’

on Adam but by the accounts i’ve heard

    he followed through.

I have no problem with hard tackling players

Well done today Celtic. A comfortable victory, 2 great goals, Virgil was excellent, looks a right good player.

I just wish Neil would give Amido Balde more game time. Some people have written him off already when he has hardly played. Back the Bhoy !!
