Time for expensive signings, the 1254125 10k

1606

Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission.  A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances.  Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic.  They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.

As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game.  We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team.  Both should start against Motherwell.

For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125.  I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.

Many thanks for your support.

Missed game today as still under thR weather. Finally seen the goals from the match – both very well taken. Not yet seen the Lasley incident but gather from those I normally go with that well down to his usual standard. Thug.

Excellent result and good to see us back on top. Don’t like Motherwell

I used to own 11 UB 40 albums – I must have liked them I suppose.

  10. Had a wee discussion with a fellow CQNr last Saturday

regarding how representative the blog was of the wider

    Celtic support.

Imo it is not truly representative as it it tends to be a forum

for the more malcontented Celtic supporters.

Ergo when we are doing well the blog is a quieter and better place.

Long may that be the case.

Sorry for the late reply, I’m an athlete, gotta look after the body, or bath as we call it in athletic circles.

    We have agreement generally.

We have a centre back pairing worthy of the name. Is the sieve closed? For now at least.

They are an attacking threat, all the time, and Charlie has value as a covering midfielder!!!!!

    Agreement breaks out on CQN.

    Well, except for CowieBhoy, roaster:-)

  12. Not quite a 1/4 of our league schedule gone, and we are unbeaten.

Much was made of us losing the spine of the team during the close season.

Wilson, Wanyama and Hooper flew the nest.

I think concerns about how we would cope have largely been answered.

Efe and VVD are forming a formidable and enterprising CB partnership.

The MF has a lot of permutations and variations in it.

The striker position still has a few wee doubts but with Sammi, Kris, Antony all grabbing goals we have enough firepower in reserve while Pukki and Balde settle and find some form.

Lustig, Matthews and Izzy, covered by Charlie when necessary, are all coming into a rich vein of form.

Backed by the Great Wall we are solid at the back and midfield when we play to form.

The pace, variation and interchanging was a joy to watch today.

It was heartening to see Izzy show the form of his first season and what can I add to the praise given to Efe and VVD.

I expect a few wealthier but smaller clubs will be eyeing the pair of them with some envy.

We have a couple of weeks hiatus before we play host to St Mirren and then travel thru to Edinburgh to finalize our preparations for the visit of Ajax.

I expect us to clean up in all three matches.

That should set us up for the Big Glasgow Derby in Maryhill.
