Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission. A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances. Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic. They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.
As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game. We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team. Both should start against Motherwell.
For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125. I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.
Many thanks for your support.

Tragic news that St John Doyle, Councillor George Ryan, has passed away.
He had a difficult year with health but there was no sign of this. I was with him before kick off on Tuesday and he was his usual self.
He was a good friend of the blog over many years, a good friend of Celtic too. Can’t quite believe the news.

Well done, the Hoops! Done The Well ! Great show and top of the pile. Waiting for Man U for a treble and was on edge the last 5 mins. The young Belgian won it for them and the Black Velvet Band as midfield generalissimo was no Lubo. His passing at times was dire. Hail, Hail!
Just on and didn’t read back so the first post I saw was about the passing of George Ryan.
Shocked and numb, I shared a beer and a few tunes with him last Saturday.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends and may perpetual light shine upon you George.

“I want to go to every ground and I want the atmosphere to be poisonous. It’s time the most feared support in the land where back doing what we do best”

3 FA Cup winners medals in 3 countries in 3 decades. JD is in the history books forever. Immortal Celt.
Paul67, I was talking to CowieBhoy today, a friend of CowieBhoys is gravely ill, far too young, I lost a very close friend earlier this year, suddenly and too young.
These things hit us hard when they happen to those close, but they will hit us all, hopefully not for a long, long time.
There are no words of comfort for his family, I know, but as Jinky says, prayers, thoughts for his family are all we can offer so we will.
