Time for expensive signings, the 1254125 10k

1606

Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission.  A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances.  Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic.  They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.

As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game.  We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team.  Both should start against Motherwell.

For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125.  I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.

Many thanks for your support.

His hide and seek routine against Morton was a cause for concern …he’s been poor since

He has received some hefty plaudits on here…..I haven’t seen anything to get excited about ( hope I’m wrong)

I also hope your wrong .

Still early days to judge him.

The shock of having to deal with a new set of refereeing rules will take adjustment.

He does not look like a guy who takes players on one to one but has good awareness so requires team mates to pass and move.

This is a cause for concern as we are very slow and deliberate in the pass allowing opponents time to guard the recipient and our movement is very poor.

Maybe he will rub off on his team mates?

I actually think Neil see’s Balde and him as our forward partnership as Pukki seems suited to playing off a target man.

Good luck to those of you running tomorrow.

  5. Pf Ayr, delaneys. I use to live in Germany. Still good a few mates there. One of them who I was in seville with watches German football and seen pukki a few Times

His comments when we were linked with him was he vanishes in games and is no very good and doesn’t score goals

We sign him for 2.9m and try to make him a different player when we need a goal scorer , he wasn’t what Neil wanted Play him. Keep him fit and punt him ASAP he isn’t a project

Balde is a project though and needs time

Transfer window opens in jan. We have oudels of cash

Give a new goal scorer 6 months to bed in before CL qualifiers

No excuses and no more pukki’s

Extremely saddened to read about the death of George Ryan. I met George for the first time last Saturday at the hootenanny in bar 67 and shared a few bevies with him. We joked about him cancelling my fine for driving in a bus lane on the way to my hotel and had more than a few laughs.

A lovely big fella. Condolences to Georges family and all hew knew him.

Heard the news earlier about my friend of fifteen years, George Ryan, one of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. An ally, a friend, a comrade, an inspiration, a guide in one of the toughest times I’ve ever had, a guy who got me out from under on one awful occasion and who always had my back.

Loyal, and staunch, from the first time I met him, George Ryan was one of the guys I counted out, one of the guys I really trusted.

Politics is a bad business, and full of wee personality cults. I never much went in for those, but George Ryan was a man I would have followed to Hell, and he was one of the Good Guys. A genuine leader, and a man of great integrity and decency.

He will be missed, and mourned, by all of those who, like me, he inspired and pushed along their respective tracks. He is one of the seven people I dedicated my novel Believers to, for the role he played in my life.

I will miss you mate. Love and respect, comrade.

    Rest in Peace.

  12. Condolences to St John Doyle’s family and friends on their sudden sad loss.

    RIP

On mere football matters – today was very good given the exertions of Tuesday

When AB and NB get fully integrated in to the team and way of playing we will have a very powerful unit that will hand out a few right good hidings to teams.

We are playing far better in the league than we were this time last year

The two CBs are worth the admission money alone!

I have been saying this since the 1st time I saw him.He is not a striker. He looks unhappy at having to try and play like one.He is a “In the hole”player.A good striker to play off and to is what he needs.

Big Balde could be used more.Lukaku scored a goal very similar to Baldes against Liverpool today, and it was being hailed as world class.

Ritchie. Pukki will turn out to be the same player he has been over last 2 to 3 years. What are our scouts doing

  19. Kojo. You have indeed got short term memory loss regarding McManus
