The Fifa Executive Committee meet in Zurich today and tomorrow but it is unclear if the allegations of corruption concerning the decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar will be on the agenda. The world body are no strangers to allegations of corruption, it seems to be an internal part of the fabric of the game at the top level, they are also extremely experienced at stonewalling such allegations.
The International Trades Union Congress, who are calling for the 2022 vote to be re-run, have called for fans attending games this weekend to turn their back on the field at the 22nd minute, to build awareness of what is going on with Fifa and the Qatari preparations.
When you get corruption at the top of an organisation it tends to undermine process all the way down. A clean and alert Fifa would give us a far better game. It’s time we were all asking questions about this.
Congratulations to Mrs Jobo Balde, who won at £50 voucher to spend at Cail Bruich, 725 Great Western Road. Jobo, drop me and email……….
Photos are in from CQteN, great work by Geo, as usual. Click on the photo to see hi-res. More to come:
Seville, The Celtic Movement, is selling like the proverbial……
“I decided to go to the train station only to be told that there were no more trains to Malaga that night and so I was now truly stranded. By chance I met an old man who asked me if I knew where the train station was. “It’s no good mate they are all off—all the trains have gone!”
“The old man laughed and explained that he wasn’t looking to get a train, but just needed to find the station as that is where he had parked his car while he and his wife went to the game.
“We spoke for a few minutes about what had happened to me and then he said if I could get him to the station he would drive me to Malaga as they were staying twenty minutes outside Malaga for the rest of the week!
“I was delighted and accepted the lift and we got to the airport just as the last call went out for my flight. I rushed on board and guess who was there? None other than my mate Jim. I owe that old man and his wife so much for their help.”

Spurs ya twats….done ma coupon wae last kick of the Ball.
geordie,
My first post today was at 14.14, in response to Paul’s leader and where I thought port and our immediate problem lies.
South of Tunis responded and the discussion went from there to the financial support and credibility given to CO and the SFA by attendance at the Cup Final.
What followed was pedantry and diversion.
I am not the most eloquent of posters, but ?I thought my point was clear.
Anyway, I will let it go at that and go and cut my toe nails, in preparation for my visit to Celtic Park on Saturday.
Port is an intruder!
Jobo Baldie
Cheers for the info , I ‘ ll definitely go given the opportunity
Hope I don’t miss any posts regarding date and time

Jobo, you fire away fella. Your knowledge of the cqn golf outing is surpassed only by your ability to determine the weather at the precise geographical location in which you fin yourself, especially east kibride:-)
Marspapa, I’m not involved in the golf outing. I just went along to play last year and scoop up up a few free fry ups.
I’m sure it will be well advertised on the blog oncethe date is set. A cracking day oot it is too.

Your basic point is imho correct.
The hip-pocket nerve is the one to tweak.
Let our troops go to the games, but remain outside.
Now THAT would cause a stir.

Weet3-Napoli v Porto ITV 4…..
As i posted the other night, i think Steven Thompson will take his Hospitality mob to CP before the semi final at Poundland. He done it before a Hampden final a couple of years ago.He has no time for the SFA or the huns.
Thomthethim
The SFA for around 70 years permitted, and indeed supported, a member club which carried out an openly sectarian signing policy.
Did you make a stance against the SFA throughout those years?
Cheers Bada

Paddybhoy1888 glad you are enjoying the Seville book. As you say the first half is great but what a treat you have in store on the second half when the CQNers take over. And I don’t think you have read the story yet near the end of BRTH where the swimmer suffers the effects of the dirty fountain – you will laugh like never before. It is so well written and the funniest incident I’ve heard about re Seville.
SOAL-And the big telly is working.
Seen some photos this week of the new walkway, fair coming on,embdae know when it’s due for completion?

No, of course not but what they have presided and actively facilitated, goes way beyond even the policy of that club….and well you know it.
You are better than that HT.

Napoli 1-0 (1-1 agg) 22 mins
Nice goal Napoli
Goals!
Napoli, Sevilla & Salzburg all score at virtually the same time.
Fat lot of good – Spurs blew my 8 timer!
Bada,
Should have been a straight Red, just before goal ?
The best way to sort out the SFA is stop putting £ in their pockets, Scottish Cup? don’t go, go to your Club Shop and spend some cash.
Give them nothing, don’t buy a Scotland top, scarf or ticket, nothing, Heehaw.
This Tartan Army ‘Soldier’ will not be at Hampden for a very long time.
The SFA are liars and cheats for the benefit of their favourite Club, they are welcome to each other.

Ps roll on Saturday ,taking my Nephews bhoy to the game again,Its a joy to watch the enthusiasim of an 11 year old young celt. even when he nudges me and says “I’m not allowed to say that word” when I’m giving an opinion on the MIB.
But I’m getting bettercsc.
On a more important matter.
Any recommendations for a tasty bite in the Byres Rd./ Ashton Lane area?
Thomthethim
I completely understand your views on the SFA, few Celtic supporters would disagree. However, my point stands.
The SFA backed a member club which refused to sign players who were of a particular religion, Catholic.
I’m sorry mate but personally that’s worse than anything they’ve done as an association in recent years.
PB1888
Glad you are enjoying your holiday auld pal….get back golfing and forget the 5s, will organise a game when I am up to speed with the butler…shouldn’t be too long now. Regards to your good lady….topping up yir tan…ffs are you still modelling in they catalogues?
