Time to call Fifa to account

819

The Fifa Executive Committee meet in Zurich today and tomorrow but it is unclear if the allegations of corruption concerning the decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar will be on the agenda.  The world body are no strangers to allegations of corruption, it seems to be an internal part of the fabric of the game at the top level, they are also extremely experienced at stonewalling such allegations.

The International Trades Union Congress, who are calling for the 2022 vote to be re-run, have called for fans attending games this weekend to turn their back on the field at the 22nd minute, to build awareness of what is going on with Fifa and the Qatari preparations.

When you get corruption at the top of an organisation it tends to undermine process all the way down.  A clean and alert Fifa would give us a far better game.  It’s time we were all asking questions about this.

Congratulations to Mrs Jobo Balde, who won at £50 voucher to spend at Cail Bruich, 725 Great Western Road.  Jobo, drop me and email……….

Seville, The Celtic Movement, is selling like the proverbial……

“I decided to go to the train station only to be told that there were no more trains to Malaga that night and so I was now truly stranded. By chance I met an old man who asked me if I knew where the train station was. “It’s no good mate they are all off—all the trains have gone!”

“The old man laughed and explained that he wasn’t looking to get a train, but just needed to find the station as that is where he had parked his car while he and his wife went to the game.

“We spoke for a few minutes about what had happened to me and then he said if I could get him to the station he would drive me to Malaga as they were staying twenty minutes outside Malaga for the rest of the week!

“I was delighted and accepted the lift and we got to the airport just as the last call went out for my flight. I rushed on board and guess who was there? None other than my mate Jim. I owe that old man and his wife so much for their help.”

  13. So see this Google Chromecast thing. Does this mean that if I’m going to watch something on my laptop, e.g. a you tube video then it will appear, via wi fi, on my big TV screen?

And so if I then subscribe to Celtic TV, this would be the way to get that channel on the actual TV?

    Sounds useful for £30.00

Boro supporting friend of mine said it was the only time he saw boro fans bottle it.

From memory, a handful of them goaded, then tried to get stuck into the Celtic end. Didn’t really go too well for them from that point onwards.

  21. Jobo Baldie that is certainly the case with my old laptop as anything I get via the internet.

I move to the HDMI input using the TV remote, then press a wee icon on the laptop screen and what is shown on my laptop screen appears on the TV.

With YouTube it is even simpler, you press another wee icon when it is playing on the laptop and it plays on the TV without you needing to touch your TV remote.

    I am impressed.

There was a very large group of casuals, without club colours, creating mayhem before the game, I BUMPED into 1 protecting my auld Da.

This group gathered just before half time in the corner of ground ( their stand) at Celtic end, for a short period I should add, before being dispersed by many Celtic fans.

I think it’s the only time I have lost my rag at the footie ( outwith playing a now defunct mob)
