Treble talk, farewell Big Mike

2035

Talk of trebles can disappear over the space of 90 minutes, and Ronny Deila will be forced to learn new patter if his team cannot regain the edge which was lost on Wednesday night at Celtic Park.  The challenge will be all the greater for the absence of cup-tied Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven, with others, including Kris Commons and Emilio Izaguirre.

Dundee United have fallen apart in the last few weeks, the departure of Armstrong and Mack-Steven has probably had something to do with this, which means they will be hurting.  Make no mistake, Celtic harmed their season by signing their best two players five weeks ago.  United will have an edge to them.

Just loving the celebrations that one of the world’s richest 400 people no longer controls a Scottish football club.  He still controls pretty much all profitable revenue streams, and holds security over assets, but he’ll no longer be asked to provide loan players, or loan cash.  They have swapped an ‘off the radar’ wealthy man for a glib and shameless liar.

Ashley repulsed many.  He was the archetypal fox let into the Ibrox hen house.  The juxtaposition of Celtic announcing a £29m shirt deal with New Balance, rights Ashley bartered for £1 at Ibrox, gives you an idea of how impaired newco are.  But allowing him to walk off with all those revenue streams, without the responsibility of running football operations, which will always lose money, is inexplicable.

I know people in the game who were concerned about having an opponent with the resources of Ashley.  That blocking SFA decision was crucial.  I don’t know anyone concerned about King, in fact, there is quiet delight at how things transpired.

Farewell Big Mike, thanks for all your work.

Is there still a “buy your history option” if so I will just deposit £20 in the usual offshore bank account attributed to your good self, so I don’t have to pay the extra tenner when I fall, it’s easier getting the bank card once, the good lady starts questioning when I want it twice in the same month (bank card)

How many times do you think you can buy yer history back?

Nope this time if your are disqualified as a result of poor team selection, you will have to apply to the JoboCRC FA to become a “fit and proper person”. Let’s just say for an additional contribution all past indiscretions will be overlooked :-)

  2. James Forrest is a confidence player – he needs a run of games to get going. (Insert injury based joke here …). The odd 30 minutes as sub now and then doesn’t seem to allow him to get into a rhythm. Some players need to start and I think he is one of them.

The last house I lived in had a crap lawn, so I read up on it!

It was beautiful when I moved on.

I cut my grass whenever conditions are right and I cut it at the highest setting in winter.

If the weather is cold I always check the 10 day weather forecast for frost.

    It works for me.

Lets just say the song choice was at the request of SMB ( he said “nae rebs mind!”) and is probably also blaring out loud within the Champagne Express as you head Tannochside bound. If not check the hidden section of the tartan glove compartment :-)

He needs to start producing the goods, he is obviously short on confidence as he showed on Wednesday by hidning and not going down the line when he had the chance

Hope he gets his confidence back but as I stated earlier in the week if play Henderson before either Stokes or Forrest

Playing Henderson allows Johanson to play in the position further forward

Neither stokes now Forrest provide enough cover for the fullbacks

I’ve thought that – a Samaras type player, thrives on confidence; ge thim on a good run and he’ll be invaluable. Jus tneeds to keep fit, ignore the green huns and focus.

How many minutes/ games do you need to build your confidence enough to make you try and go past the fullback on the outside?

We can’t afford passengers, especially when we have players out through injury or ineligibity. I’d rather have Henderson in, than Forrest, any day .

He just doesn’t do enough for me, oh, or the team.

Not a great singer..I liked that he didn’t try to sound like he came from Memphis.Lyrics often good but prone to being verbose. The Uni gigs often verged on burlesque cabaret.

My Granda God rest him was a massive Belfast Celtic fan and if you seen his face every time he past the Park Centre where the old Celtic Park was you would never hold that view

He never took any interest in football again and just watched Hurley and the horses

I used to love him telling me the stories about Belfast Celtic the detail was amazing and you could transport yourself there

He told me the club withdrawing from the league was the only option and had the support and communities full backing at the time – but it ultimately broke his heart and he said it hurt him every day since

I would hate that to happen again

    *******

    It’s not a view that I hold.

What it is, is one of the only two options, not the right word, for Celtic, if they are to be free of the corruption,

Closing down is not an option, for many reasons and relocating is outwith our control.

Therefore, the whole point it that we are stuck where we are, effectively condoning, however reluctantly, the corruption in not only Scottish football, but in Scottish society.

The support for TRFC extends to politicians and all media also.

All the club can effectively do is to make the best that they can out of it.

We, too, by turning up for games, especially games like the League Cup, are contributing to the support of the crimes, whether we like it or not.

Many supporters of other Scottish clubs have taken the same decision that your late Granda did, as they will not support a fixed game.
