Treble talk, farewell Big Mike

2035

Talk of trebles can disappear over the space of 90 minutes, and Ronny Deila will be forced to learn new patter if his team cannot regain the edge which was lost on Wednesday night at Celtic Park.  The challenge will be all the greater for the absence of cup-tied Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven, with others, including Kris Commons and Emilio Izaguirre.

Dundee United have fallen apart in the last few weeks, the departure of Armstrong and Mack-Steven has probably had something to do with this, which means they will be hurting.  Make no mistake, Celtic harmed their season by signing their best two players five weeks ago.  United will have an edge to them.

Just loving the celebrations that one of the world’s richest 400 people no longer controls a Scottish football club.  He still controls pretty much all profitable revenue streams, and holds security over assets, but he’ll no longer be asked to provide loan players, or loan cash.  They have swapped an ‘off the radar’ wealthy man for a glib and shameless liar.

Ashley repulsed many.  He was the archetypal fox let into the Ibrox hen house.  The juxtaposition of Celtic announcing a £29m shirt deal with New Balance, rights Ashley bartered for £1 at Ibrox, gives you an idea of how impaired newco are.  But allowing him to walk off with all those revenue streams, without the responsibility of running football operations, which will always lose money, is inexplicable.

I know people in the game who were concerned about having an opponent with the resources of Ashley.  That blocking SFA decision was crucial.  I don’t know anyone concerned about King, in fact, there is quiet delight at how things transpired.

Farewell Big Mike, thanks for all your work.

The headline in midweek will be- It’s worse than we thought _70m kwid to be rid of Ashley and another 30m to be rid of the contracts from others

There is NO way guys of the calibre of McColl and Park will keep goin money-wise when they know it is a bottomless pit

The laughter I I had from the h ns going bust is honestly nothing I feel compared to watching Sevco do the same

Whilst Arabs Sheep Jambys and everyone else in the SPFL knows they have to break even, King is telling everyone that debt aint bad.

So, you could not keep your promise to leave it alone and decided to re-visit it.

In doing so, you make an appeal to another authority. You say “SFTB writes rubbish, read Shelby Foote and you’ll get the true story. Having read every word of his major work, The Civil War trilogy, I would heartily endorse your commendation. There is not one single word in the trilogy which contradicts the points I made, points you left unadressed because you hope that people will believe that Shelby Foote contradicts them for you.

However, Mr. Foote does not discuss the Indian Wars, except where the tribes were recruited, with false promises, to join one side or the other. It did not lead to any favourable post war treatment. The issue of slave ownership in the South is always a contentious one. Most families who fought did not own one but a substantial number did and it is the main “States Right” that triggered the war. Everyone who is an expert agrees with that. Only the Klan sites and other sites proclaiming “The South Shall Rise Again” try to diminish it.

Raising the point of white slavery in the West Indies is a red herring.

My point was always a counter to your simplistic view that Islam is UNIQUELY violent, however it is espoused and practised, and I am stating that all religious doctrines, and Non-religious ones, have murder and slavery in their background.

You tried to dismiss this as all ancient history, only Islam is violent now. Well, I could cite Rwanda, where around 50% of the population were RC and 40% nominally Protestant, or Yugoslavia where the Islamists got a hard time of it from Catholic Croatia and Orthodox Serbia.

I am not trying to convince anyone on CQN and would prefer to take this off line but there are Celtic minded individuals who practise the Islamic faith. I will not see them slandered on these pages and stand by.

First things first – I apologise to you for the late response to your post.

Secondly – We had an agreement, not to debate on here, CQN. I am genuinely sorry that I broke the clause.

However, ye have to and need to be challenged sometimes.

Ye read like a half crazed, tin-pot dictator at times.

One thing I agree with – CQN isn’t the place for it.

I believe that I am right though.

Can you do the team talk today?

And I’m sure Broony would love you to be in the huddle before the game.

  6. Now that Lying King has shown us how the fans can control the board room, Sevco will now use the internet to run the footballing side.

Fans will be allowed to vote online on various issues effecting the club.

The first vote will be to determine the new coach. And I don’t mean between Parks of Hamilton and McGills.

Since Murray has told us they have been approached by many managers, all solid Rangers men without a doubt, wishing to manage the club back to its former glory, a short list will be produced on a secret site and shareholders with the correct credentials will be invited to participate in the poll.

They will also be able,to specify a salary and a contract length.

The site will also be available for fans to pick the side before games and to nominate substitutes when the game approaches half time and the team is struggling against the likes of Cowheath and Hen House Manure.

Once again the Govan side leads the way in supporter participation.

All votes cast will only cost £16.90.

  7. As anyone who has experienced it knows, an alchy can never even begin to get his/her problems sorted until s/he admits s/he has a problem in the first place.

Up until then, denial, denial, denial is simply allowing the problem to persist and grow.

The huns are still in denial. They have never, not once, admitted the truth about what happened with RFCil and what is going on with Sevco. They don’t even admit to the term Sevco.

The WATP mentality, which played a massive part in the death of RFCil, is still the major driving force behind their support. They still see themselves as the victims of a massive ‘Timmy’ conspiracy.

That is the typical mind-set of an alchy. Happy to blame all their woes on someone, anyone else, no matter how bizarre that claim may be.

Very few people have any time for alcoholics. They are often left to wallow in their own self pity and drink themselves into a stupor.

Most people just wish they’d disappear or go and annoy someone else.

I think that is how most people view Sevco.

  8. GG

I downloaded an app to specifically listen to SSB today. I wanted to hear how that result would be spun. One guy did suggest that fan power brought about this revolution. And he suggested that they should vote for the next manager….I figure you were listening too.. :0)

RD is now the ambassador of all that is potentially good about Scottish Football…. Whereas the MSM are all that is bad. They relentlessly sell a pig in a poke..unaware that in doing so they are journalistic lambs to the slaughter..

The one thing that caught my ear on my short listen, apart from the predictable stuff, was the commercials for Celtic Stores on SSB. One shouldn’t be surprised… But when scanning the Big Picture…

    Made me smile cynically…

  9. Alfie Noakes on

Someone mentioned earlier that the Ibrox ‘faithful’ would be now re-appraising their view of David Murray and the mess he left them in.

They find it hard, regardless of what the financial outcome was, or their administration and liquidation, or indeed their time spent in the lower divisions, and the fact that they might stay there for at least another season, to harshly critcise Murray.

He gave them their ‘nine in a row’ to match our achievement and he gave them their 54 titles, which allows them (so they think) to wear their five little white stars on their jerseys.

The 54 titles that spark their WATP mantra is what they have clung onto over the past three years – on reflection they will forgive Murray anything because of this legacy.

That is why we hear King, in every public speech he makes, referring to the need to stop Celtic getting ‘ten in a row’. Be in no doubt, this is what has prompted King to force his way into power – if ever Celtic get near to the magic figure of ten, let’s say in three years time, Kind, if he is still ‘pulling the strings’ will abandon any pretence of prudence and throw everything but the kitchen sink (financially) at preserving their joint record.

We will not be surprised if there are ‘friendly’ Scottish banks again willing to underwrite the venture.

  12. Big test today. Hoping for a result, not too bothered about performance.

Re: King & Murray. I honestly think they have completely miscalculated. PM’s IV yesterday made it clear he yearns for a return to the 1990s when money was no object, debt was a four letter word, and Real Rangers Men wandered Scottish football in harmony.

And the rest of us were glad of their “leadership”.

Scottish football, and the world, have changed utterly since those days. There is no more flow of easy cash, no questions asked. There are no Joe Lewis’ to throw money down a black hole. Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, and DUtd are all well-run debt-free clubs, who will not simply stand aside for the men in Brown Brogues.

Above all, no one is in any mood to take lectures from people like Paul Murray on how to run a football club.

Added to all this is the incredibly laconic attitude towards the man who has kept their jalopy on the road since Christmas. Ashley, it appears, will simply be told to leave and take his contracts with him. For the life of me, I cannot see that happening…

I think this could be the shortest honeymoon in history.

  13. Stairheedrammy on

Murray came out with the predictable rallying cry for the Sevco faithful yesterday. It fits with their supremacist beliefs and will draw some back to the fold. It’s all about continuing to squeeze them for cash, this time to fund Kings ego trip. Don’t worry, it is really just like they bought the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.

  14. Italiabhoy,

” Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, and DUtd are all well-run debt-free clubs, who will not simply stand aside for the men in Brown Brogues.”

Aye they’ve really changed eh, don’t kid yourself, everyone is currently standing aside awaiting the return of their masters. The brown brogues have rode roughshod over the rules and destroyed the idea that it’s a sporting competition, exactly what have any of those you mention done to counter that ?

Seemingly some Aberdeen fan journalist Derek Rae ? Got tore into Dodgy Dave mk2 for saying that he was going to lead Sevco to their rightful place or some other nonsense statement he had made, I think they have reached their rightful place, kicking about the lower leagues, as for today I think our team are actually better away from CeltIc Park, just play Brown & Biton with Johensen in front of them and we should win……

Do you love Celtic? Or just the attention on here?

“If Celtic get beat today” I mean, what’s that all about? It’s redundent, your hate for PL and the board is off the radar yes, but you have no passion for the club, your negativity is second to none, it has been brought to attention by someone that you are indeed a tim, but I seriously have my doubts.
