Uefa-Res 12, Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself

1052

The document from Uefa to the Resolution 12 team, which emerged online over the weekend, is genuine. The headline part of this correspondence was always going to be Uefa confirming that whatever errors or omissions on the part of Old Rangers and the SFA’s Uefa vetting process, no further action was possible as New Rangers are a “new club/new company”.

Priceless, I know, but a delightful wee surprise, though it was, the status of Newco Rangers wasn’t the purpose of Resolution 12. Res 12 was about SFA process and accountability.

There was a great deal of correspondence with media figures since the letter was produced. It’s probably worthwhile noting the chronology of correspondence:

Uefa wrote to the Res 12 team on 6 June, copying the SFA and Celtic. After this date Grant Russell at STV asked Uefa for an update and received pretty much the same information that was sent to the Res 12 guys, without the supporting “new club/new company” line.

You may be of the view that after receiving the 6 June letter, the SFA could have asked Uefa not to offer such information in future (the layers of this story are endless). We’ll never know, but the horse had already bolted.

As correspondence on Res 12 continues, the team decided not to attempt private conversations with Uefa while making correspondence public, which is why this leak didn’t come from the Res 12 team. But I’m glad it’s out. It’s the definitive and irrefutable reference point on the status of Newco Rangers, and it’s on Uefa headed notepaper.

I don’t expect I’ll be goaded about Res 12 online as often going forward.

While we’re on the subject of the SFA: Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself. You know this is not good enough.  Your decision-making this season has been atrocious. James Forrest booking, for staying several yards away from the crowd after scoring a goal, was ludicrous, capping a multitude of errors this month.

If only people at the SFA were accountable. Which brings us back to the point above.

Getting nervous about tomorrow.  So much on the line……

That makes perfect sense to me, thanx for clearing that up.

No ‘murky innuendo’ fly boy. Sometimes someone has to ask the glaringly obvious questions. Vfr800 has perfectly answered my question without resorting to mocking sarcasm, unlike yourself.

    Have a nice day.

Have Police Scotland ever published statistics on injuries sustained during crowd surges?

Only in court cases concerning X Sevco directors.

You can appeal a yellow card, only if it has been given for `simulation`. The problem you then have,is to prove it was not simulation. It becomes then a matter of opinion. Srange one,I know.

    Natknow,

Only yellows for simulation can be appealed up here.

I think uefa allow appeals for mistaken identity but not 100% sure on that neebs.

    Thanks for posting that rule.

I’ve been really puzzled by this as I have seen plenty of instances of 5-6 players going into the crowd, but only the goalscorer gets booked.

From what you have posted it shouldn’t just apply to the scorer?

The ole Lady Bhoys are in Edinburgh just now so was the 1st thing that came to mind… ;-))))

  12. So rules were bent to allow Rangers into the CL the Scottish football authorities a decision that cost Celtic PLC and their shareholders millions of pounds.

UEFA seem to think that Sevco or whatever they are called are a new club, so move along.

The SPFL/SFA tell us Sevco are the same club going for 55, which seems to contradict UEFA. But this is Scotland, different rules, so move along.

The only statement that Celtic PLC appear to be interested in is their Bank Statement.

Celtic have a CEO who has compounded the loss of millions highlighted by Resolution 12, by his appointment of RD, two failed CL Qualifications and a ridiculous recruitment policy .

Celtic Supporters highlight the flawed nature of UEFAs ban on the Palestinian flag. They win widespread goodwill for the club and have raised around £30,000 for Palestinian charities.

The topics for many on here is chatter about banning those supporters, use CCTV to identify them, make them pay UEFA’s fine personally.

Move along we want to moan about cheating refs, in a league that we already know is administered by cheats.

By paying into this farce we have lost any credibility in continually moaning about cheating from the authorities. That has already been proven, imo.

  13. Just logged on for first time since early Friday morning. In Cayo Coco Cuba. Good to read the result on the weekend. Thanks to those for posting the goals. Wee Jammie, what a difference a season makes.

Hoping to catch updates of the game tomorrow. Spotted a couple of blue noses, one was wearing a new York Rangers Jersey, if I ever converse with them I’ll tell him he just needs to drop the York from his jersey.

The cops having a hard time?? How many Celtic fans would endure all that palaver to watch a game on a solid earth pitch?

Anyway, there was some atmosphere and that blue no 9 scored a belter.

I ask this as hurting huns can be the bitterestt of seething huns and the most sleekit of manipulators.

Also do you recall the lc semi.we should have pumped them silly and for social balance gubbing the hurting self harmers the 2nd half was bland

  19. Can anyone tell me please which Celtic players have been booked and how often, bearing in mind that 3 bookings and you are banned for a game.

Especially as the Aberdeen away game immediately precedes the meeting with the mankies.

A coincidence I am am sure.

Done a search for clubs banned from UEFA club competitions. Malaga, Galatasaray, Dnipro, couple of others but no sign of anything about Rangers. It would be great if the STV guy could put up a link to it …….

  21. at a loose end just now. Was looking up transfer news which got me thinking – senderos, what are the ignorant ones thinking about him. Not much it seems but what I did notice is that they have raised £6,000 since May for the hooligan legal fund.

    Compare and contrast.

And they are seriously deluded about their visit to paradise.

  23. Philbhoy,

That’s twice today I’ve read that 3 bookings and you’re banned.

Has there been a rule change and I’ve missed it.

The rule as far as I’m aware is 18 points for an automatic suspension. Most bookings are 3pts so most suspensions come after 6 yellows.
