UNIQUE ANGLE: KYOGO AT THE DOUBLE DOUBLE

0

KYOGO FURUHASHI rolled the clock back to December 19 2021 as he staged an action replay of his goalscoring feat in the Viaplay League Cup Final against Michael Beale’s Ibrox side.

Last season, the Japanese hitman, who had joined the Hoops only five months earlier in a £4.6million switch from J-League outfit Vissel Kobe, fired a double salvo as Ange Postecoglou claimed his first piece of silverware as Neil Lennon’s successor.

Hibs were the opponents and had rocked the Parkhead men by taking the lead through Paul Hanlon with a header from a right-wing corner-kick shortly after the turnaround.

DECEMBER 19 2021…Kyogo Furuhashi with the trophy after his two goals against Hibs.

Kyogo flashed in a quickfire leveller before winning the trophy with a delightful chipped shot over stranded keeper Matt Macey for the second.

The Govan club were on the receiving end yesterday when the lightning-swift marksman pounced to turn a low cross from Greg Taylor past Allan McGregor for the opener just before half-time.

And Kyogo sealed the deal with another predator’s swoop following a superb pass from his compatriot Reo Hatate.

The first hurdle in the quest for the treble has been cleared in style and the goals that brought the trophy back to the east end of Glasgow are well worth a second look courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.

Enjoy!
