Westminster MPs ready to accommodate Administrators

572

A group of Westminster MPs are set to accommodate administrators Rangers FC PLC in London tomorrow in the hope of using whatever influence they have to pull a deal together.  Political interference in distressed companies is not uncommon but on this occasion the risks of collateral damage are enormous.

Fifa strictly prohibits political interference in football matters and has banned national teams and their representative clubs from international competition for matters as trivial as politically motivated appointments, never mind overt political lobbying on behalf of a football club in tax delinquency.

Prime Minister, David Cameron, commented on Rangers situation last week, although unlike Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond, he limited himself to a neutral comment, however, I hear that Treasury officials have already been lobbied to exert pressure on HM Revenue and Customs to agree to whatever necessary to prevent Rangers from suffering the consequences of not paying tax.

Ironically, it’s Celtic and the Scotland national team who are set to suffer.  Craig Levein hopes to take his Scotland team into the World Cup qualifying tournament in September while Neil Lennon will hope to give his Celtic team a chance to qualify for the Champions League.  Fifa would be delighted to take the British government and football associations down a notch or two after the accusations of bribery at the international body emanating from England when their bid to host the World Cup perished.

Duff and Phelps have nothing to lose from meeting the MPs but with so much at stake for Scotland, Celtic and our other European entrants next season, the Scottish and London politicians must rein-in their over political interference and the SFA must get off their backsides and remind everyone of Fifa rules.

Neil IMO did not know ant better, the board did.

The result of “keeping it quiet” is the unpunished assault at tynecastle.

Even I knew that, still Neil gets “mail” and still the board keep their unshakeable nerve, but Neil is still the target and tey keep a dignified silence on the issue.

Just off the top of my head, press conference’s will have only one subject, the continued threat to Neil Lennon’s life.

Neil should not be allowed deal with the meeja until they take this threat as seriously end of.

But the board sit on their hands again, knowing Neil is mhan enough to to take it.

Where’s the protection, oh thats right Neil is just a supporter with a good job, innit.

if they are wrong, its too late. This is not a game, peoples lives are being threatened, for every Celtic fan murdered for wearing the hoops, this is not a game, poker or any other game.

Never disturb you enemy when they are making a mistake…. blah blah blah especially when its not your homestead thats being raized, sick of it, dumb support can look after itself, got to keep the corporation and its directors safe, well they can go and take a flying copulation at the moon, again they have alredy let us know, in their eyes we are no better than the hun hoard, and they declared it to UEFA and the rest of the world, that is in my book unforgivable.

Wanted to leave the conversation on a merry note but find your ‘innit’ references a bit derogatory.

Neil Lennon is a very courageous and intelligent individual, he is much. much more than another supporter.

He is up there with all the Celtic greats with the potential to be one of the greatest. Please don’t undermine him.

    Goodnight all.

Canamalar as usual raises important points that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Your method of dismissal of those points makes you the rogue.

my jamsie can wait, condecending anal passages such as yourself require slapping down.

You might want to ignore the disgusting vilification of the manager and support, no me.

Now unless you’ve got something to discuss or offer, I advise you scurry off into your cocoon of nice things and leave the adults to debate real issues facing the Celtic.

no intention of being dismissive, never have dissed you before and am surprised you took offence now. I know exactly how high up the food chain Neil is, I also know there is a big difference in how we rate Neil and how the board rate Neil, and

I believe its a world of difference, for a start I doubt mant supporters see Neil as an expendable employee, I hope that clears up the perspective.

dont try and dismiss like a kid then.

    Aye adult,

have you got anything to say that might put my mind at rest as to why the board have done\said nothing about the latest “package” posted to our manager, intercepted by the royal mail this week.

  11. NeilCal…

No…I don’t know what the board have done and probably never will.

I do know they will do whatever necessary to protect Neil and our club.

All I was trying to do in my cack handed way was say…”Chill”

  12. A change of topic for all Canadians on CQN. Has anyone seen the CTV advert for the upcoming London Olympics? About half-way through there is a scene in a pub with a about 20 guys in the hoops watching a TV screen. My enlightened Canadian wife then pointed out that I should check the other side of the bar for Rangers tops. Sure enough there is also a bunch of Rangers fans in the pub. To make it even more odd, there is one person in the middle holding a lion rampant flag and the image on the television screen is a tennis match!

As this section of the advert ends, they pan across to the Rangers side of the pub and a big baw-faced Hun, resplendent in his top and scarf, leans into the camera shot and makes some sort of victorious gesture. Obviously filmed more than a week ago.

Anyone else seen or commented on this?

Tis right for us all to bear in mind that i) the trial of the Ayrhire duo is back on the cards and ii) oor Lenny and others are being targetted once again by sinister mail, and iiii) the demonising meeja campaigns are about to step up another gear, already seen in the past couple of days.

another night, sobriety is making me angryer at the legions of Celtic supporters who seem to be suffering altzheimers as far a the board are concerned.

I’ve no reason to be angry at the hun right now, a hun is what a hun does, but so called civilised people who sacrafice their benefactors, in the attempt to conform to their enemies point of view is frightening. Especially when that point of view demands condemnation and vilification of their own.

Then again not being involved in their corporate ladder probably discounts me from being their own, innit.

the pain is being dragged out to a thousand cuts but bored with the honest rags concentrating on whyte knight and ignoring the personnel involved in the ten years of stealing from the tax payer. When do we start to see the SCottish equivalent of Nurnberg and start jailing these criminals. Or is it ok to steal and cheat the pensioners , nurses, doctors , police, teachers and soldiers. If Scotland’s leaders were honest men they would call this what it is , strip knighthoods , jail the guilty, reverse Cups won illegally and for good measure salt the ground of ibroke before building the new asda to recover the stolen tax. I am not asking for much and don’t expect anything. The politicians should realise that they will gain more votes for being honest than they will get from Scotlands minority unionist and nazi supporters. Another conclusive win bhoys , eye on the prizes.
