We’ve seen more of these games than Brendan

693

Thus far results haven’t mattered, but if his players walk into the dressing room at halftime tomorrow without being in the lead, you can believe there will be an edge in the team- talk. You and I have probably seen more of these kind of games than Brendan. They are seldom straightforward and while the manager plays with pretty much the hand he inherited, I don’t expect a remarkable change in outcomes.

Assuming results go to plan, we’ll have six Champions League qualifiers in the next seven weeks. That’s a lot of football, hopefully most of it will be played with the benefit of one or two more arrivals.

    Ernie,

I’d say more than likely, but they have been a staple part of our diet for generations, whereas the breakfast waffle is a fairly new introduction (well here anyway)

Must admit I am also perplexed – he was called a “fenian bastard” and “a Celtic paedophile” – if that is not sectarian, what is?

On the subject of TV coverage, I note that the SPFL are allowing live coverage of League Cup games at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon while other games are being played.

Thought live coverage at 3pm Saturday wasn’t permitted (due to impact on crowds?) or maybe just applies to League matches (why?) or maybe because the Huns are first up against Motherwell ?

Or perhaps the big teams aren’t involved yet :-)

Morning Bhoys well they say there is no fool like an old fool I went to purchase a bike for myself and my grandaughter as I felt some excercise would do me good. When viewing the bike the seller said take it a test run well I have not been on a bike for about 50 years but I decided to have a go and of course the expected happened and I crashed I came down on my face skinning all my nose on the road also one of my knees but of course as I went down I put both hands out to stop the fall so I have injured both hands im off to hospital to have my hands checked to see if anything is broken but I hope to get back in time to see the game. H.H.

Tricky Zrinjski for you guys to deal with at tea-time today. Hope it works out for Legia

Good luck Celtic today and all season. We’ll need it on and off the park. Sharing a train line with huns on the first Saturday of their season doesn’t tell me that the authorities have their heads switched on.

Brendan Rodgers, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is – win the league. Everything else is frippery.

Bon Dia from a still hazy overcast Ponta Delgado. Often starts this way here, does not necessarily indicate a bad day, it is already 21c, and 99% humidity, but I just know that hot July sun is burning into the cloud cover and I will see it later.

After yesterdays epic Volcanic Caldera tour, bit of a quieter day today, going to take a local bus along the South coast to a place called Lagoa. I think for lunch today I will tackle some octopus salad………….and maybe 4 beers :)))

  11. Happy birthday to BMCUW (belated), Kevj and Moussa!

It’s also Mrs G’s birthday today. I remember when I was young and stupid once deciding to celebrate her birthday on the 11th and not the 12th. Never did that again.

I expect a tight victory tonight. No more than 3 goals in the game.

  13. The res12 bhoys have put the case into UEFA,s ballpark . No one else should need to get involved , it should be automatic . They have the full facts in front of them ,they are aware what went on . If they don’t investigate the charge ,then its UEFA who are not applying the rules . It’s UEFA needing challenged , after all set a flare off and they jump to attention .

BMCUW. BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES MATE .

Don’t know about any of you bhoys , but I was expecting BR to wield the axe on more of our dead wood . And have a few more signings in . IMHO we still need a big no nonsense centre half .

  14. JIMTIM on 12TH JULY 2016 10:55 AM

Possibly not worth axing players while prospective targets are on international duty or holiday. Looking around most transfer business is only just getting started.

It’s a fair bit out from the centre of town. There’s a phone number on the site. If he doesn’t have the game hopefully he’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
