Thus far results haven’t mattered, but if his players walk into the dressing room at halftime tomorrow without being in the lead, you can believe there will be an edge in the team- talk. You and I have probably seen more of these kind of games than Brendan. They are seldom straightforward and while the manager plays with pretty much the hand he inherited, I don’t expect a remarkable change in outcomes.
Assuming results go to plan, we’ll have six Champions League qualifiers in the next seven weeks. That’s a lot of football, hopefully most of it will be played with the benefit of one or two more arrivals.

Hope you feel like a dog with two c*cks tomorrow :-)
MacJay
I would recommend an album by Robert Nesta Marley, entitled Exodus. Changed my 14 year old sponge brain.
Hope you and your family are hunky dory.

Agree with you about the coverage of Cliff Richard and possibly many other things over the years.
But …..this was a comment/discussion about the programme called “Exodus” a harrowing account of Syrian refugees and you jumped in with
“I can remember when the B.B.C. could be relied upon to approach these topics in an evenhanded way.
No more.”
So I dare suggest that a reasonable man ( the man on the Clapham Omnibus maybe) could surmise that you were referring to the BBC vis a vis this particular programme….not how they have treated Sir Cliff etc

WHAT IS THE STARS on 11TH JULY 2016 11:58 PM
I accept that .
My point was simply that the B.B.C. have been guilty ( I.M.H.O. ) in the past of promoting certain views which are usually associated with one ” side ” of the political spectrum.
I urged caution.
That was all.
Happy birthday to a true gent and Tim

Forgive me if this is old news and everybody already knows but I’ve just noticed that the game against Lincoln Red Imps is being shown on BT SPORT2 from 6:30pm

Sean McVeigh Macanbheatha was incarcerated for defending his family and community of Short Strand. I was proud to meet the very wise gentleman. Celtic daft he was. :)
Macjay
Fair enough
I am glad to leave it there.I would like you to watch the programme and see what you think
All media outlets have agendas and sometimes even the act of putting a camera in front of someone can change their behaviour, news stories can be twisted to suit the views of the editor etc.
I think we can all accept that whether we are left right or centre.
But the plight of innocent people caught up in savagery is a story worth listening to..
Anyway,I am off to bed, have a good night ( or day where you are)
We shall talk anon and argue and disagree again but always with civility…..ya auld aussie bo***x….. ( thats a joke by the way)
DD.
Missed all ready.
Great insights from Sean. Many nights. I know my cowardly self could not do what he and many others did.
Never met him. Proud to say though, i did know him.

I watched the exodus documentary.
You would need to be a stone cold horror to not want these people to get to the first place of safety.

A wee ramble.
Last Sunday I flew from Edinburgh to Tenerife. Late afternoon departure. Late. However, on take off the view of the 3 bridges was quite amazing.
Then the pilot says we are going over Glasgow, left turn, isle of man’ over Ireland,
A spectacular clear view of the whole south coast. Tried to pick out the places I might know’ definitely cork city. Maybe mizzen head.
On down the Atlantic. An hour to landing and I saw three islands in the dusk. Maybe a mirage. Not a light.
Flew round the west of Tenerife which is just beautiful.
Great flight.
Home now, searched out the 3 islands.
Big desert islands off maderia

Happy belated Birthday wishes to you from The Azores. Champions League Group Stage Qualification is the gift I wish for you :)
KEVJUNGLE
I don’t know you but I am sure we would have seen each other often in the ole Jungle days. I hardly missed a match between 78 and 83 and loved that Jungle. Hail Hail and Happy Birthday Brother :)
Anyone know of a pub in Denia that might be showing the game?
Not saying I agree with everything Mac Jay or Tony Donnelly write, but it never fails to amaze me that the ones who keep beating the Mantra”Everyone is entitled to their opinion”are invariably the ones who come on and try to slaughter the opinions of the aforementioned two,and a lot more besides. If you dont fit in with the PC brigade,so easily mortified,on here, then woe betide you.I understood what Mc Jay was trying to get across, but the easily offended, dumb asses leaped in with both feet.If you believe everything the BBC News or Sky News tells you,you are no better than those who believe everything in our SMSM.They all have agendas.
He said he was not referring to the said programme, just the premise that our news channels are not alyogether truthful.
But then,as stated so often on here when it suits, you really knew that, right.

Looks like our bus leaves Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning. No digs needed.
Clydebank Republicans on tour!
If anyone is sick of the ole holiday in the Med, I can 100% recommend The Azores as an alternative. The scenery is unbelievable. Went to two volcanic craters with lakes in them today. Stunning Atlantic coastline. Hedgerows lines with 5 to 8 feet Hydrangeas. All in a half day taxi ride for €50. Friendly people, cheap food, wine and beer. What’s not to like? :)))
Under a two hour flight from the UK.
Lines = lined
Hat trick ;)

Happy Birthday to our own resident nutcase,Kev J.Some of the pish you come away with is so off the wall, its scary.A couple of witnesses and you could be committed.Anyway, cheers to a Tim.
Saw an advertisement for The Azores in a Radio times or something a few years ago and looked it up. If you look at images online you will see what I mean. The two week holiday I saw in the mag was about £2.5k per head.
But with a bit of research we have put together a three week break staying on three Islands, sandwiched between two and three night stays in Lisbon for about just over £2k for both of us.
To clarify, flight from Edinburgh to Lisbon, two night stay in Lisbon, flight from Lisbon to Ponta Delgado, 6 night stay there. Flight from Ponta Delgado to Pico, 7 night stay. Flight from Pico to Terceira, 3 night stay, flight from Terceira to Lisbon, 3 night stay, flight from Lisbon to Edinburgh, and up the A9 to home.
Google Azores and select images. You will see what I mean. Different planet.

I have been fortunate enough to visit the Azores. Fine place. Good shout….

Your defence of of Macjay is touching but the point is that a a CQNer mentioned the documentary and showed some sympathy towards the plight of the refugees. Macjay immediately attacked the BBC and implied that expressing sympathy, nothing else, for refugees was somehow politically biased. He is a right wing clown and deserves calling out at every turn.
If people air their political opinions, then they should expect those who disagree to criticise them. I find some of his opinions quite revolting and most disturbing. I would have expected a more humane view of society from someone educated by Jesuits. Oh but Tories, as was famously stated by Thatcher, believe there is no such thing as society.
Macjay can look after himself.
Btw, belated birthday greetings to BMCUP and a happy birthday today to Kevjungle.
