I wonder if we will see two rival Scottish Premier Leagues next season? We could see a SPL consistent with the threats made to SFL clubs last week, let’s call it SPL Loyal, with Hibs, KIlmarnock and a few others. They would sit atop a feeder league containing whoever they could attract from the SFL and Sevco, who due to fan power would be excluded from the top division, no matter how few teams that division had.
Meanwhile a rival SPL could setup, let’s call it SPL Solvent, with Celtic, those from the Gang of 10 who realise they are better-off participating in a league which is likely to survive until next May, along with the teams who last season finished near the top Scottish Football league.
SPL Solvent would make no threats to exclude SFL clubs who were due promotion on merit, and would therefore attract the balance of SFL clubs; which is likely to be the overwhelming majority. This league would contain the only club with the ability to underwrite the commitments needed to bring broadcasters and commercial partners on-board. It would also be free of, moral and ethical questions, where clubs are united with their fans on what it means to organise sporting events.
It’s not the worst idea floated in recent weeks.

I’ve met a few guys off here, some I’ve taken to more than others.
The first time I properly met bjmac was when we were 3-0 down away to killie back in November.
For 45 mins we sang our hearts out and I’m on record as saying, it was a day when a support dragged a team, and a club, from its knees.
The Celtic support helped win the league that day despite what came after. There are guys on here, Sftb, Sannabhoy etc who were there, they’ll tell you it was something special.
From that day, bjmac and I have remained friends. He is a special human being.

as for your adoption I agree 100%, its both tragic and an inspirational message, we are both lucky to be here, regardless of our origins.
My hand grenades are normally when I am outraged at lazy unthinking blind conformity, I have a natural distrust of people who advocate conformity and will always challenge it, its how I’m wired.
I do admit I sometimes throw in a few to make people think (hopefully) and my favs are get a laugh. Bloody boring game last night eh :o)
But I think you’ll find, if you read objectively, most of my more outrageous posts are replies to condescening assaults, and yes I know my passion makes me insulting, trick being, everyone on here knows I’m predisposed to being cutting when riled, now I ask myself, if its general knowledge people must obviously enjoy bating me, yet declare I’ve got some sort of problem when I respond as expected. I used to think the sign of madness was to repeat a known failed strategy and expect a sucsessful outcome.
Now I do understand its hard to be objective when friends are involved, I dont expect most to manage, we’re only human.
But IMO on this blog more than most, I expect people to read the arguments before deciding they are nonsense because who offered it. Gladly there is enough diversity on here that a decent argument will be recognised over condemnation because of who the poster is.
