Delighted for Wales last night but what’s happened to Jason Denayer? Since ending his loan period at Celtic a year ago he’s made 15 starts for Galatasaray. He was hooked on four of those occasions, which is a high percentage substituted for a defender. Gala won their first four league games with Jason in the team but won only once in his final 10 appearances. The point was made to me last night that he looked overweight.
In his 12 months at Celtic he polished his rough edges and established himself as a top performer in the most effective defence we’ve had in years. Manchester City were not prepared to let him return to Celtic as the reckoned he simply wasn’t being stretched.
He signed a new contract at Man City before heading for Turkey, but their new management team are unlikely to promote him to their first team squad. He’s unlikely to have impressed anyone at the Euros and Galatasaray won’t be as keen as Celtic were to have him back.
Is it possible we’re the only ones who know what he’s capable of? I’d have him back tomorrow.

Happy many returns Joe,

The kick-off today is 4:30pm.

You get used to it, it’s a dry heat, the closer to the sea the more humid it gets and the more you sweat.

When we had the killings in Paris, Brussels and Orlando there was a genuine outpouring of grief from around the world…however, we now have seen it happen again in Dhaka and Baghdad…and I don’t see any grieving today on Facebook…I wonder why? Well, for what it’s worth… je suis all of those who have suffered again at the hands of the fanatics…may their killers roast in hell!
AT-I thought it was 4.30, website says 4.00….?
BMCUW…
Hope they p****d on it as well :))
Watching a cracking game with Tsonga.
Something dodgy with Djokovic, same as there was with Nadal!
Bada Bing –
Now I’m confused, which is not unusual.
NewsNow says 4:30 and you’re right, official website says 4pm. I’d normally believe the official site, but it was listed on there as 4:30 before today.
We’ll soon find out I suppose.
SIPSINI
Perhaps they’re means of screening has been undone. Hope so.
They’re their,bloody spellcheck

Djokavic’s post-match interview yesterday was interesting. At the end, the female interviewer asked him if there was something external that had affected his performance.
His reply was, “it’s personal and I don’t want to talk about it.”

I dunno, mate. Every atrocity is against the innocent bystanders and should be condemned as such. IMO,we are really becoming inured to it now.
As a comparison, murder was front-page news, nationally. And not that long ago either. Now? Barely mentioned except locally, unless there’s an angle the press can exploit to sell papers.
There was a similar attack to the ones you mention, two months ago in Pakistan. Targets were local Christian church-goers.
72 died. Hardly a mention.
IS,etc, try to terrorise people by their actions. Instead,we have become apathetic. Not even angry anymore, just a shrug.
AULD TAM
Interesting comment. It seems to have manifested itself virtually overnight-only a few weeks ago he held all the Slam titles.
Today’s starting line up against Sturm Graz in Austria
Celtic team to play @SKSturm Bailly; Janko, O’Connell, McCart, Izaguirre; Johansen, Bitton; Christie, Allan, Henderson; Ciftci
Subs: Gordon, Ralston, Sviatchenko, Ajer, Tierney, McGregor, Roberts, Lindsay, Armstrong, Griffiths, Brown, Fisher, Fasan
I wonder what sort of line up we will play with that selection ?
Brendan goes for a 4-2-3-1 formation first half by the looks of it. Dembele has joined the squad but presumably not up to fitness level to play.
Games on Wednesday and next Saturday to give them all a run out
WEEBOBBYCOLLINS
I have said a prayer for those you mentioned who were murdered and their families and friends who are left to deal with their loss.
I did not feel a need to post on here or anywhere else about it.
Sorry if that upset you.
Any whisky drinkers on today?
That does not look like a selection that you can make 4:3:3 out of.
Embramike
Yip, it sure looks like a 4231
Hope they make a better fist of it than they did under Ronny :-)
HH
looking forward to todays game.
Was hoping to see Dembele but Brendan knows best.

I rounded off yesterday with a rather pleasant Aberlour 10yo if that’s any help.
Well,most of it.
Brendan has taken a very large squad of players to Slovenia understandably as he needs to know what they can do in training and different match set ups.
He will know who he regards as the basis of his squad at this moment in time, and will be evaluating the fitness, mentality and skill levels along the way.
I would imagine most players will get 2, 3 or 4 halfs to increase match fitness, and our line up against Maribor (shiver !) on Saturday may give us a clue to his thinking for CL qualifier on Tuesday 12th.
There’s a mass exodus all over Iceland and Wales as thy head for Euro quarter finals and semi finals respectively.
The country is left occupied by the elderly and those who are too young.
All over Iceland, Mothers are bemoaning the missing and asking “Have you seen my hairy Ragnar?”
In Wales the cry is “Have you seen Myfanwy? “
The Germans don’t seem to leave anything to chance when it comes to tournaments. I read again the £25 million resort, Camp Bahia that was built for them for the World Cup in Brazil. Complete with pitches, media centre etc. No problems with hotels, security, media, travel etc.
They also have a portable 4,000 foot, fitness/treatment centre that they bring to tournaments.

Very nice too!
Friends of mine have just moved to a new house (downsizing) and had lots of stuff they didn’t need for the new gaffe.
So, they have today given me 2 presentation bottles of whisky.
The first one is unopened and is the bell shaped Bells, commemorating the wedding of Andy and Fergie, dated 1986. 43% abv.
The second is a Haig’s Dimple, dimple shaped, commemorating the 13th Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1986. Opened but full and 43% abv.
How good will they be?
PHILBHOY
Hardly an expert, but you have hit the heady days of my yoof when I knew everything.
(Before I found out I knew eff all, obviously)
The Dimple was always the best of blends, sharp sweet and spicy all at the same time.
Mind,it’s a bit rough to start with. Put some water into the first few then you’ll be happy to let it relax you!
As for Bells,I can offer no opinion other than it’s Bells. Rarely disappointed nor surprised with it.
That Aberlour though is a wee gem.
Hello this is WEE BGFC. Teams always come out an hour before kick-off. The teams came out at 3 therefore the game will kick-off at 4. Sherlockholmescsc

I will let you know how I get on!

Celtic TV is broadcasting (?) now.
Caption seems to suggest kick off is 4.10pm
Intae these Osterichees!
KO now 4:10 due to slight delay in team travelling to Graz from base in Slovenia. Conditions overcast, dry and 18 C should suit the players.
