Who stole Jason?

931

Delighted for Wales last night but what’s happened to Jason Denayer? Since ending his loan period at Celtic a year ago he’s made 15 starts for Galatasaray. He was hooked on four of those occasions, which is a high percentage substituted for a defender. Gala won their first four league games with Jason in the team but won only once in his final 10 appearances. The point was made to me last night that he looked overweight.

In his 12 months at Celtic he polished his rough edges and established himself as a top performer in the most effective defence we’ve had in years. Manchester City were not prepared to let him return to Celtic as the reckoned he simply wasn’t being stretched.

He signed a new contract at Man City before heading for Turkey, but their new management team are unlikely to promote him to their first team squad. He’s unlikely to have impressed anyone at the Euros and Galatasaray won’t be as keen as Celtic were to have him back.

Is it possible we’re the only ones who know what he’s capable of? I’d have him back tomorrow.

  1. Donohoe is concerned Rangers First do not have a register of members, approved minutes, a constitution, chairman or office bearers.

Mmm, just like the mythical Rangers “club” which was supposedly sold to Chuckles Green…..

LIke many such occasions, the Sevconians pick and choose when to acknowledge the truth.

  3. Watching the Italy/Germany game made me appreciate just how entertaining it is watching Wales.

Ramsay will be a big miss against Portugal, I would have fancied them strongly if he had been available.

However I am sure we will get another ‘full on’ performance from them – would love to see them reach the final – allright boyo

WOULD YOU DARE TO QUESTION WHO YOU REALLY ARE?

Our DNA reveals so much about where we come from. Most of us are far more diverse and have much more in common with people from other countries than we would ever have thought. We have started The DNA Journey because we want people to understand that there are more things uniting us, than dividing us.

Must be an age thing ,but, the first thing I said after Zaza ‘hit’ his penalty was ‘They would have been better with Zsa Zsa Gabor’ ! She was a better dancer than him too!

  6. Was the poster who claimed that Andre Wisdom of Liverpool was in Glasgow for a medical flying a kite or does he know somethin we don’t?

I onl wish it were true as, to quote a certain Sevconian, I quite like the cut of his jib!

    Hail! Hail!

  7. Lennybhoy,

Is he? Good news if happening. Think he will be a good signing. Still would like to see Duffy as well. Hopefully Efe is off.

A decent stop gap with plenty of EPL experience although he does posses the efe traits of commiting costly mistakes. Brendan knows him well which can only be a good thing

  9. Lennybhoy

Yes agreed. A younger CH also would cover us nicely.

    Cheers for info

  10. Kolo Toure,if true, would be a brilliant signing for the CL qualifiers.Great experience at the top level, and still a great athlete.Thank God BR can see talent. He says today that Scott Allan is a definite stayer. Not so much for KC who ticks none of the boxes Brendan wants filled to enable you to play.Been a great player for us,but I think his time is up.

Good “Bear on Bear”action going on across the city.Very enjoyable.

  11. LENNYBHOY on 3RD JULY 2016 10:17 AM

We need experience but we definitely need a younger CH as well.

    Just what I hear.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

    Lenny,

so we are writing off Simunovic already are we?.Before the new manager has even seen him play. All because the guy broke a bone in his knee quite a few on here have called him a “Sick note”,and this now seems to be spreading,as he is now seemingly forgotten about.

I think BR wants to bring in Toure as a stop gap until he sees Simunovic and Eric together.

So many “Experts”on here being proved wrong day after day by Brendan.Great fun, seeing how quickly they forget their last predictions.

  12. 118 caps for Ivory Coast. Played for Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. He’d do a big job for us.

  13. TURKEYBHOY on 3RD JULY 2016 10:34 AM

I wouldn’t write off Siminovic just yet, didn’t play that many games before he got injured. For the money we reportedly paid he deserves a chance. If Toure passes medical and agrees terms he will bring experience to the Team, in my opinion.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  14. TurkeyBhoy –

Who is writing off Simunovic? Nobody mentioned him. He is out with a long-term injury. Are we not allowed to sign cover when it’s required, lest we upset a player who is out injured?

When he is fit and ready, Jozo will have the chance to play his way into the team.

  15. What I would like Celtic Football to do,this season ,is to tell certain elements in the Scottish Media, that all bets are off,if they start muck racking or whatever, stop, put a earl marker down Celtic, its the only way they understand,

  16. Morning Timland from a very hot hun free mountain valley.

Kolo Toure would be a super signing imo.

We have dreams and aspirations of CL football, we need experience, bottom line.

Freebies of the quality we are bringing in is way beyond my expectations, have said for long enough, bring in quality, pay them a decent whack, they will help bring on the weans, it’s a no brainer imo.

Struggling to have a go at Pedro, these days :-)

I’d be happy signing kojo…oops kolo, we need someone to lead our defence, an older head could/would shore it up.

  23. Good to see the Germans go through

Got them and Wales in same sweepstake :-)

Both in final I will collect the winners money and runners up money .. Not bad.

Toure would be good signing and pretty sure he would be signing to help organise the defence for a season ..doubt he is going to be first choice week in week out.
