Words are easy, so are actions

848

After yesterday’s discussion on values, what we’re all about and where we’re going, today’s announcement by the Foundation that they will have a badge day at the Dundee United game on 11 May is something that requires us to step forward and do something about.

“Volunteers will be in place at all turnstile areas and supporters will be asked to make a donation of minimum £1 in return for a badge, which illustrates the new Celtic FC Foundation crest.  All monies raised on the day will support our work challenging homelessness in the Glasgow area.”

I’m going to volunteer.  You should too.  It will mean getting to the game a wee bit earlier but it will also mean you can look those values we all preach in the eye.  Words are easy but on this occasion, so are actions.  Let’s do it.

I’ll find out how you volunteer and report back soon.

Know Lewandowski story quite well. Celtic came too late, when he was close to sign the contract with Dortmund. There were few German clubs interested in Lewy.

I don’t know if Lewandowski would go to Celtic if came earlier.

Thanks to the betting sites I see a fair bit of SA footy, and IMO, the best to watch is Chile, all out attack, magic so it is, all the Argentinian games are on as well, a derth of goals there, but some good stuff, don’t see hardly any Brasilian games so can’t comment.

Is there anyone left on this blog that’s under 70?

    ————————————————————–

I always assumed most were under 12 :-)

  4. Think Barcelona’s experience will see them through tonight away to La Liga leaders (for now) Athletico (boooooo) Madrid. And Bayern to win comfortably against Mr Moyes’ Boys.

Looking ahead to The Masters and this year’s investments (the last 5 being ‘each way’) are –

Serious contenders: McIlroy (10/1), Garcia (20/1) and Rose (33/1)

Dark Horses: Matsuyama and Moore (both 80/1)

    Favourite (current) golfer: Jiminez (150/1)

Only Scottish Interest and celebrity Celtic supporter: Gallagher (200/1)

Blindfold and pin bet: Cink (250/1)

I’ve been here nearly six years now, and am just getting the head round the lingo, it’s hard trying to have a phone conversation at times, usually you are trying to complain about something, and they just say they can’t understand you, even tho they can, every day stuff I’m fine with, shops, bars, football etc.

The Wife is pretty fluent, so she normally does the difficult stuff, but as they won’t speak to her about some things cos the bills are in my name, they have me over a barrel.

Off to get ready, oot to watch a game tonight.

  15. Hail Hail everyone from a semi-sun draped West side.

Not been posting much for one reason or another but lurking daily and got a few thoughts on the last few pages:

Watched the wee video highlight thing reading the article (as always lol) and what an amazing 2 strikes Niall McGinn scored against Hibs! Was really unlucky with an effort that came off the post for a hat-trick. I saw a comment about Aberdeen in the last or last last article that they come alive in the last third.

This chat about non-EU players would make me vote yes lol. Lots of really, really talented players out there that we can’t sign because of work permits. Did we get knocked back for Aguedelo? can’t mind. I liked the look of that Rosario guy who played in Canada too.

I watched Dortmund last night and that is, in my opinion, how we should play. The pressing ethic, team-work ethic, skill in passing, playing from the back was world class. Grosskreutz is the player Broonie should strive to become. Outstanding and unlucky performance from a team who deserved to go through to the next round.

Anyhoo some thoughts while listening to some hurting people in radio land.

Brasilians are quite insular about their football. They’ll quite happily watch European games (especially when there’s Brasilian’s involved) but don’t really watch other S.American fitba. I’d say that there’ll probably be a bigger audience for the CL games than the Libertadores here.

Consequently (with the exception of Fox Sports Brasil) we don’t get much exposure to other S.American leagues. However, as you say the Chilean and Argentinian leagues do seem to be well worth watching. Which is more than I can say about a lot of the Brasilian games these days!
