Every year we ask you to put your hand in your pocket for various causes and every year you react, but never more so than 2012. You responded magnificently to the Wee Oscar Appeal, which from Celtic fans in total raised £31k in a bucket collection in September and £27k at a race night last month.
It is breath-taking to see the work done by those who, without thought for their personal sacrifices, decided this young boy would get the best chance possible. The photographs of Oscar are an inspiration, but the work done by those who staged the race night and bucket collection – and brought a new CQN badge to life – is even more inspiring.
The events surrounding the charity golf day raised four-figure sums for Oscar, the Neuroblastoma Alliance, the Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust and The Haven in Blantyre, which supports people with life limiting illness. There were smaller donations too, each one a credit to the organisers and to those of you who contributed.
The overwhelming majority of this work, and pretty much all donations, are made by people who don’t want any thanks and would be horrified by publicity. In most instances the beneficiaries will never know their names. I’m in the really fortunate position that I get to see a lot of this happen and I can assure you it is awe inspiring. You are in the company of many great Celts.
This club is not Neil Lennon’s or Dermot Desmond’s, it’s yours. Celtic will win and lose many games but that will change nothing that is really important. You are the person who will make it a unique force for good in the world. That is our challenge for 2013.
Thank you for all your help, take care and have an absolutely fantastic Christmas.

I like this from CG’s statement as it tells me more needs to be done to keep Scottish football on the right track.
“Before I came to Ibrox I had no idea how much pain our fans were enduring. With the torment of administration and all that followed, there seemed no end to it with our fans taking it on the chin from everyone and their auntie baying for blood in the name of sporting integrity.”
To say that those wishing sporting integrity are baying for blood is an insult to them and the concept and lays bear the thinking of a club for whom such a concept appears so alien they have made a man who sneered at it their Head of Communications. That they are even being entertained at a lower level for the money they bring in is morally reprehensible but understandable given human nature.
But such a club with such an attitude does exist, has a big support and one day will be competing at the top level in Scotland (assuming regionalisation does not happen) and it is essential all clubs take steps to ensure sporting integrity is paramount and any club despising it is kept under control by an authority whose own integrity we have faith in.
This is a wider battle although the Celtic support can take part and how it might be done, using our own experience of tackling the SFA, is out for discussion on theTFSM site.

Interestingly making sporting integrity top of the agenda is number one on the resolution list. The very fact The Rangers sneer at it suggests it is right it holds that spot.
2012 has been a historic year in scottish football.
We got more than we could ever have wished for on the park. We finish the year as we started .. Top of the pile but also still in the champions league … League cup and scottish cup. A young vibrant TEAM … Same with the backroom staff.
Off the park … The cl and shrewd signing policy has us sitting pretty too
But. ( theres always a but )
Lets spare a thought for those less fortunate and the departed …

Another year almost over our thoughts and prayers are with those fellow Celts who are no longer with us. On reflection it has been a great year for us so whats not to like? So I wish my fellow CQNers avery Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Paul 67 you have been inducted into the Stornoway Black Pudding Hall of Fame, it will be with you in the New Year (For Services To Celtic Fans) Hail Hail Hebcelt
Challs’ Christmas Special video is the best present that I could have hoped for!
The man is a complete fruitloop; better than we could expected.
A merry Christmas to us, one and all, the future is bright, and it’s Green and White!
Is the Dundee game in doubt as I see the weather outside there is quite frightful?
Railroads cancelling trips etc.
A very Merry Christmas to Paul and all at CQN. I’m mostly a lurker but I really enjoy being a part of the camaraderie of the blog and listening to genuine Celtic supporters talking about all things Celtic. Hail Hail!
Like to check in on the ole CQN demographic especially on the best day of the year.

minceyheidman-good point mate, lot of rain up there, any Dundee bhoys on for an update?
If anyone is unfortunate enough to be at work and if your boss has the nerve to come up and ask you what you’re doing say, “The ways of a wizard are not for mortal ears.”
Red noses are for reindeer , clowns and comic relief days.
Santa has Rudolph, comic relief day comes once a year and sevco have Chuck the Clown.
If it wasn’t panto season I would be worried as the man surely has a screw loose or maybe just preaching the the screw loose masses.
I cannot help but vision all the sevconians sitting back and believing every word out of the clown’s mouth with an “I told you so” look on their faces.
Goodness knows how anyone else will get any air time on this year’s Only An Excuse.
As my father always told me “keep telling them they are doing well, they will believe you as they cannot handle compliments from us”
So true Dad.
Roll on 2013 and another brilliant year for the Tic.
Thanks CQNrs for making this year as always a great one and hoping for all your wishes to come true, whatever they may be.
The Minceys.
Bada
Just text my mate who stays 5 minutes walk from Dens Park. It’s been raining heavily but has stopped for now so hopefully no difficulties come Wednesday.
Johann
Many, many thanks again for the loan of your ticket to the posh seats on Saturday.
One could get used to the high life ;-)
Voguepunter
Me hold a flare????
I need to get someone else to light ma fag!!! ;-)
VOGUEPUNTER 1448
HAMILTONTIM isnae old enough to remember flares, unlike us ould hippies.
Green on SSN, says that they were attacked like a guy on a pavement who has just been beat up by some unknown, for something not of his making and instead of (Scottish football) helping him he gets a kicking.
Nice words eh?
‘The Green’s Speech’ CSC
Re challs christmas video
