Summer business underway as Fojut signed

559

Celtic tied-up their first piece of business for the summer 2012 transfer window this afternoon by securing Polish central defender, Jaroslaw Fojut, 24, on a pre-contract.  Jaroslaw moved to England straight from school to join Bolton Wanderers, who he made two appearances for, before spending short loan periods at Luton and Stockport.

He moved back to Poland as a 21-year-old and has become a popular player at Polish league leaders, Slask Wroclaw, who knocked Dundee United out of the Europa League qualifying rounds this season in their first European football adventure in 40 years.

I hear he is a solid defender who commands the air well and who is likely to have his best years ahead of him.

  1. Paul67,

Do you think this also signals Celtics commitment to Neil, that they want him here long term? Either way getting business done early is always good news.

No, giving him the £4-5m required to sign the striiker he wants (and wanted in the summer) would signal commitment to Lenny

ernie lynch – What happens to Salmond and the SNP when the Scottish people vote no?

We’ve already heard them claim that anybody who stands up to them is “anti-Scottish”.

To which I say, shag him and his party! Being Scottish is about alot more than supporting someone elses pipedream! The man is a first-class anus, and I wish him no luck at all in his “conquest”. I mean, who the feck does he think he is trying to declare someone as Anti-Scottish just cos I don’t conform to his way of thinking!? Like I say – anus.

Neil bought a striker in the summer for about £2 million.

  5. Is it just me or is all of this talk about Lizzie’s new yacht, are they expecting £60million to come in from a source with a bit of back tax to pay.

That would be a ship called Dignity indeed.

Did he? Pity he didn’t get the one he wanted at £4m

It was a choice between Bangura and Diawara, who I assume you are talking about, and I’m pretty sure I read a direct quote from our manger talking about difficulties in getting a work permit in for Diawara.

I heard that. It is compulsive listening. Sounded like the coastguard was going to murder him if he got his hands on him.

  10. Welcome to Celtic!

I would make that two signings with 2012 in mind following the arrival of Lustig.

Now let’s make sure it’s the Champions he is joining!

  11. Welcome to Celtic Jaroslaw.

As I stated before about the belgian guy we were linked with, I am a bit concerned that we are signing players from second-tier nations (ie poland) who are not capped internationals.

A few years ago, every player we signed from ‘lesser’ footballing countries was capped. Even loovens has a few caps for holland, but guys like laursen 8denmark), varga (slovakia) even tebily (cote d’ivoire) were all capped.

It is an anomaly, and may be irrelevant, but I can’t help thinking we are aiming our sights quite low by taking this approach.

Jaroslaw is 24 – and we are celtic. Should we be signing guys at 24 from poland who can’t make their (not very good…) national team?

    Any thoughts?

    RATM,

the manager went to see Diawara, and returned to find Bangura signed, at the time there was suspicions that the slag lawwell made the signing without the managers knowledge, as usual chose the cheap deal.

As for the permit, they never even enquired about one, so regardless of what the manager might have said, they never asked so they dont know if there were any problems.

Not according to Sky breaking news. The captain of the Costa Concordia has been released and summoned to Ibrox to explain how best to cope with a sinking ship!!!

‘Incredible tape released of Coastguard ordering the deserting Captain back on to the sinking cruise ship. They will throw the key away for this guy.’

I’ve read a transcript of it.

    Astonishing stuff.

Though having ordered him back to the ship once I don’t know what the point was in repeating the order. The guy, for whatever reason, was clearly unable to be of any assistance at all. I think questions have to be asked about why he was ever thought to be suitable for the job in the first place.

And I’d be wary of him becoming a scapegoat. There’s obviosly a bigger and wider problem than one rogue captain.

  15. From the last thread…..

Good move for him! He is young, still making progress in his game. He runs away from our league and has chances to be part of Poland team in the future. If Slask would let him go right now, he would have chances to play at Euro 2012. I think they will not let him go now and are going to worry him. They will drop him to the reserve team. That is a loss for Slask but we should not become attached to good players!

    ~xxxx (2012-01-17 16:28:27)

I heard about them trying to extend the contract but Yareck had another option. He has full right to make such decision. If he does not move now I see him in reserve team in Spring. We must keep pressure on Celtic and ask them for some money.

    ~ktoś (2012-01-17 16:23:30)

It’s very good that we are such rich club and we let players like him to go for free. I’m simply speechless..

    ~Kedar709 (2012-01-17 16:16:08)

I hope he is not going to move to Celtic right now. He and Darek play well together.

    ~er (2012-01-17 16:14:02)

Good move for him. Pity we won’t get money for that transfer. Celeban is next one for off. He is too good for our league. We are going to see how they replace Foyoot.

    Vitto (2012-01-17 16:11:16)

Beautifull. Classical mistake Polish clubs do. We wait and wait, and wait because we expect nobody leaving us. And…big miss. I’m sure he will leave us now and I hope we get some money for him. We will lose one of our best players. Amazing. Celeban is next one.

I hope the news is not true. If it’s true it’s cinema.

Valu, he has valid contract until June. I hope this is not the truth.

    ~maximus (2012-01-17 16:06:30)

If this is true I wouldn’t be surprised if he would not play In Spring (not one game). I understand that he wants to move but he turned back to the club when club need him in defence. If I were the coach I would drop him to the reserve team.

    ~ser aleks (2012-01-17 16:05:51)

What did you do Foyoot to Slask? You spent more time injured than on the pitch. This is your payment for Slask… I have no words.

    ~Szajba (2012-01-17 16:03:32)

And all that started. I hope Celeban is not going to do the same. That happens when club sit down to talks half an year before the contract expires…bravo.

    ~fan (2012-01-17 16:03:25)

Foyoot played for the team who beat Dundee United.

Slask Wroclaw are first in the table, four points above Legia Warsaw who beat Spartak Moscow in LE qualifications. We are in next round of the LE.

I said to Kojo: I’m not excited, not very surprised. I trust Lennon saw in Foyoot that something that made him sure of the player.

He is better in opinions who ticks all the boxes. Messi won’t come to Celtic.
