Doing your talking on the park

603

Scott Brown’s comment that the players will “look to do any talking on the park” is what you want to hear from the captain this week. Scott’s only just returned from a lengthy absence and is yet to get into full flow, but on form, he is the difference between an anaemic and an effective Celtic.

It’s always hard to judge from the stands what a team is missing when it’s off form but it’s clear we need leaders on the park to grab hold of games and dominate opponents. Scott is our most effective player in this role; a lot of responsibility lies on his shoulders in the coming weeks.

Saturday can’t come soon enough. It’s a far more important game than the semi-final I continually see articles on.

I’ve been in touch with three of the Res 12 guys and hope to pick up on this shortly.

  1. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar - Sack the Board - Lawwell Out on

Auldheid – but why should the SFA answer your queries? There is nothing but negatives in it for them in doing so (assuming their guilt, and from the documents, that’s a shoe-in). If there is no sanction / threat of action / bigger bully in the playground making them answer, then they can just play schtumm.

Anyway – enjoy your curry mate – you deserve it.

Enjoy your curry, I am partaking in one of Mrs TET’s hot eef Madras as I type, it’s magic :-)

I understand what you are saying, but if the sfa don’t answer, which they won’t, it’s too late to involve uefa, therein lies the problem.

Did you see my post to BRTH this morning re: a Derivative Action?

Is this feasible if the PLC allow Res.12 to be time-barred?

Well I read this blog with interest but have never felt confident that resolution 12 would amount to anything I am now at the stage as are some others that for there own reasons the Celtic board are stalling on the issue. This for me is just another sign that we the supporters are not as valued as in my opinion we should be.On another subject I have not seen Tony Donnely 67 on line recently does anyone know if he is ok ? H.H.

  7. My friends in Celtic,

Some run of the mill correspondence via E- Mail today with car dealer.

The usual details asked for, then at the end of his questions he stated you DOB.

Nearly flipped and was in the process of e- mailing him to stick his car up his jaskey and to GTF when I realised he had missed our an r.

Amazing what a difference a little r can make. True Story .

  9. If the SFA are refusing to answer the Res 12 guy’s questions. Why then are Celtic the member club not asking the same questions which the SFA are duty bound to answer ? Then if the answers are unsatisfactory Celtic go to UEFA .

Could easily be 2 or 3 down in first half-hour.

  11. The board of directors of Celtic Football Club are not Celtic Football Club… they are merely ‘on the clock’ incumbents.

Like for all, their day will come; they will be despised eternal or in Celtic folklore engrained dear and fond. At the moment, today, the later would not be any mad bookies favourite.

The crowd are Celtic. Not celebrated, privileged suits.

The crowd are a collective of Celtic spirits.

After reading BRTH’s admissions of wilful neglect of ensuring fair competition to the supporters of Celtic Football Club, by the board of Celtic PLC, I am sad even more than I ever was before regards Celtic.

    Football is nothing without supporter/fans.

    Nothing.

And neither are celebrated, privileged suits who desecrate the memories of all the deserving supporters who are now no longer with us to see our club’s ethos and spirit dissolve in corruptions pollutions.

I won’t ever say I’m glad my dad has passed on… but I am truly glad he is not here to suffer the deceits and the capitulations; and I say that sincerely and with all loves considered.

God help us; Give us the courage to be true to our heart after mind. Give us compassion of empathy and a burning desire for justice.

Yeah, autocorrects and typos can get you into trouble. The wife sent me a message today saying that she was going away for the week-end with the Mad wife but was beginning to regret the decision. I queried who the Mad wife was but it was apparently the midwife from Norn Iron. My reply was enjoy yourself as long as she is not a flute playing DOB – no r missing from that one.

    Auldheid,

We know resolution was never going to be resolved by the SFA, and going to them was because we were directed to go to them by the Plc, to give the SFA the chance to respond, we wasted a year doing that. So I’m not sure why you make that statement in the way you did ?

The SFA responded to the Plc in January dismissing the most damning piece of evidence as irrelevant and we were informed about that response today. That why I’m pissed off with the Plc.

If the Plc had any intention of taking this further that was the time to do it and let us know.

The bottom line is the SFA told them ‘we don’t care about the evidence, what are you going to do about that’ so they sat on it for two months, doent exactly instil confidence in seeking justice does it.

Now I know you are always looking to find reasons and explanations to find good reasons why decisions are taken the way they are, me, I am simply relaying the actions and demand they provide the reasons, if I’m left to second guess them then I judge on their actions.

I actually totally agree with you Yogi. I thought the guy had a good game and applied the advantage rule really well. I was just pointing out to the poster who made the original comment about the ref, that our refs could teach the European refs a thing or two about incompetence.

I suggested a while back that maybes we should get some sort of fighting fund together, you said it wouldn’t be needed, is it needed now ?

As I am now a shareholder, can we not take the sfa first and foremost to court over their mis governance ?

Like most on here I’m aghast at the stance of the Board. I remember well thinking that Canalamar/BRTH/Auldheid were taking unnecessary abuse on here when they were essentially saying “trust us guys, these things take time” – now it looks like they’ve been stabbed in the back, accompanied by the expected “I told you so”s.

From Auldheid’s initial response, I don’t think he’s grasped the extent of the betrayal, and I really hope he hasn’t got his phone on vibrate during his curry, otherwise he’ll get chucked out for pleasuring himself.

  22. Having spend an hour or so reading back. I have to say some brilliant passionate posts. Blantyretim, Mags McGill and Traditionalist 88. stick in my mind.

The Sex Pistols comment posted, in my opinion, about ever felt you have been cheated was genius and summed up the how I feel at this moment. Cheated by Rangers 1872, cheated by SFA and by our board. A Rangers fan of my acquaintance said to me about 6 months ago, when I was complaining about all the shenanigans, said the uncomfortable truth for you is that your board is part of the shenanigans that you are complaining about. After today I am of the opinion he is/was correct.

  23. Phyllis Dietrichson…

    Yer a bad mhan;))

On your other point, I wholeheartedly agree with you, our board are out of order with their lack of openness.

  24. Well good evening cqn.

Firstly, before I say anything on res12 I want to express my continued gratitude and thanks to those who brought res12 forward. If nothing else I am delighted that this issue has undoubtedly caused seriously problems for the sfa and of course our board.

That they have both reverted to type by ignoring it and then conspiring against it together should of course surprise no one.

There is a few technical points I would like to make. Firstly cast your minds back to when Celtic delisted from the main stock exchange. Do you remember why? Well let me remind you. It was to allow DD to increase his shareholding without having to bid for all shares in the club. Secondly DD remains a minority shareholder. Sure he is the biggest shareholder but technically he is still a minority shareholder.

I say technically because of course he has de facto majority shareholding via the number of ahem friends etc who have shares. Now of course I am not suggesting anything illegal is going on here. Just important to note the real position.

Now DD runs Celtic and makes all major decisions (albeit from afar). He, like the board will be aware of res 12 and have actively conspired to defeat it. By doing so are Celtic acting in the best interests of shareholders? Of course not. Does DD hold power and does he want the return of racism and the Hun. You betcha. Good for his bank balance. He doesn’t care about the other shareholders and therefore technically they are not acting in the best inter sets of the majority of shareholders.

But if it came to a vote there would only be one winner. Some in mthe stock exchange would indeed believe this would be illegal. Not me mind. Not me.

But let’s get to the main course.

Is there now anyone at all, any happy clapper, willing now to defend the board? This is proof positive of the Celtic board colluding with the sfa to defeat and time bar the resolution. They have created a circular cul de sac between them to prevent progress (Auldheid will remember what we programmers called a deadly embrace). The sfa stonewall shareholders and say they will only speak to the board, the board refuse to take up the cudgels (while lying for a wee bit that they will) and they seek to frustrate our erstwhile shareholders.

    It’s a classic.

Aided by Scotlands media who won’t allow any debate or discussion and Scottish politicians who just want Scotlands racism to continue.

So I ask again. Anyone want to defend them? Anyone agree with what they have done? Anyone want to argue that. They haven’t colluded with the sfa? Anyone now want to argue they are betraying us?

The situation has now gone well beyond the pale. The board are now openly offering us the finger.

So the question is what are we going to do about it?

Are you ready to man the barricades yet?

Hamiltontim. Are the trust ready to fight?

  25. Have never posted on CQN but today. My first post is an email to JP Taylor about Res12.

    ———-

    Dear JP,

I have never written to the club before as I have always thought it would act in the best interest of fans and shareholders and there hasn’t been an issue where I feel that has merited my contact. However, the issue with resolution 12 is one that I feel needs the club to actively investigate/resolve.

As I hope you are aware, there has been a lot of noise on social media, namely twitter, relating to a post from someone close to the group involved with resolution 12. The post intimates that the club has asked shareholders behind resolution 12 to contact UEFA directly rather than the club doing it. This relates also to the fact that the SFA are not forthcoming with information relating to this issue.

I believe the club should be taking a lead on this and it is unacceptable if they are not taking the concerns of fans/shareholders seriously with this matter.

I am sure I am one of many Celtic fans who want the board to take a leading stance on this issue, without fear or favour, and defend our club against any wrongdoing that has occurred. I appreciate the commercial nature of a business like Celtic’s cant rock the boat within a governing body but I feel the commercial nature will suffer more and more due to support apathy and disillusionment with the clubs inability to deal with this issue.

I am not a season book holder nor a shareholder but I am a passionate Celtic fan who attends games when I can. I want to be encouraged to attend more games, buy merchandise etc and eventually when my daughter is old enough take her along to paradise.

You must see how empty Celtic Park is every second week and I cant imagine the board are happy with that. What I hope isn’t the case is that they are just waiting for a Rangers named entity to be in our league and hoping this changes the fortunes of the crowd. I, for one, would stop going unless the club issue an unequivocal statement about the new club is viewed. I think this is prescient also, given the nature of the media coverage before the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final.

I look forward to your response and hope you are able to allay my fears that the club will not ‘pass the buck’ on this issue.

    Kind Regards

    GJ
