£7m MISFITS HEAD FOR HOOPS EXIT

CELTIC’S £7million misfits Albian Ajeti and Ismaila Soro are heading for the Parkhead exit.

The Swiss striker, who cost £5million when he joined from West Ham in the summer of 2020, looks to be on his way to Turkish outfit Gaziantep Gunes, according to a club report.

Soro, bought by Neil Lennon from Bnei Yehuda in January 2020 for £2million, is about to return to Israel with Beitar Jerusalem.

Ajeti, who scored a meagre nine goals in 47 appearances for the Hoops, was returned following a season-long loan spell with Sturm Graz where he managed only four strikes in 23 games.

HAPPIER TIMES…a delighted Ismaila Soro holds aloft the Celtic scarf after his £2million arrival in January 2020.

With a year still to run on his contract, the 26-year-old international forward knocked back the opportunity to leave the champions on reduced terms and it looked as though he was willing to wait it out before leaving as a free agent.

Ajeti is due in Turkey tomorrow to seal the switch while Ivorian anchorman Soro, who spent last term on loan at Portuguese club Arouca, is in talks with the Hoops hierarchy to have his deal terminated. Like the misfiring marksman, he has a season to run on his terms.

It looked as though Soro was about to join French second-tier team Valenciennes, but the move collapsed due to the club’s financial difficulties.
