A victory for ugly men everywhere

921

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has managed to register his image rights on the off-shore tax-efficient territory of Guernsey.  Income received there for use of his rights everywhere else will not attract the kind of tax mere mortals pay in their daily lives.

Pellegrini, 60, developed a genial personality to combat profound ugliness, an affliction which has affected him for decades, so news that his image has commercial value is a wonderful boon for the multi-millionaire.  Manchester City will also benefit as any monies they pay for use of their manager’s image will not attract tax or National Insurance contributions.

Uefa president, Michele Platini, who has never had to worry about ugliness, now has a different challenge.  Whether or not to abandon his well-meaning Financial Fair Play aspirations, or get ugly on those who try to usurp his best intentions.

  1. I believe that we are smart enough, canny enough and have enough resources to not only rule ourselves but to become a modern prosperous country. Dont listen to the propaganda coming from England, they are desperate to keep our taxed to the hilt resources within their clutches.

If by `natives` you mean the general populace, can you give me an example of any `natives` who have run their own affairs?

I was paraphrasing, my memory not being what it was. I was trying to put the tone of contempt the outgoing british had for the people leaving the empire.

Maybe not, but they don’t intend to disband.

And they’d be the ones negotiating the terms of the break up, so would be writing the blueprint for a separate* Scotland.

    * I use the word separate, but we’d still have the monarchy, the pound and interest rates fixed by the Bank of England, unless of course we have the Euro and interest rates fixed by the ECB. It’s called self rule, apparently.

One step at a time. The Greens have already broken ranks, but I’m sure these policies have been tempered with the aim of winning the referendum. Like all futures, unknown with nothing is absolutely assured (except change).

Not arguing with you there but who fits that description ?

It’s a good question 4GF. What natives have governed themselves? It brings up issues of class interest, national determination etc.

i certainly believe we have the raw materials in Scotland to make a success of independence. And if we achieve independence, i believe it may be possible to have a socialist government in place after the very first election, looking after our class interests and national aspirations in a way that westminster never will.

Until then, the SNP will tread a very conservative path concerning economics, military etc. if we aren’t seen to be ‘friendly’, the USA will ensure it never happens.

PS I went to a non-denominational high school, that was the only choice in Aberdeen. Didn’t do me any harm (I think).
